''peep hole' camara's even inside the carridges.....DDS-'diabolical dubstars' still runnin it though for 20 yrs this year.....check out on you tube or google new film 'UNDERBELLY-DDS crew' the untold story that needs to be heard....a love affair thats slowly a dying one....
I do, Mostly of R14, R15, R17, R21, R22, R26, R28, R29, R33s of the IRT, and you also got a few R10, R27 and R42 cars that got hit with graffiti. The 1, 2, 5, 6, and D trains are most featured. Other lines are glimpsed. The number plates tell you what “R” type car it is
The graffiti art was never the cause of other more serious crimes in the subways back then, and it still has nothing to do with crimes today so all the fools saying bad shit about graffiti should really shut up and get a reality check. Art hurts nobody.
@GRANDMASTERJOE100 yeah totally agreed, the trains definitely looked so much more alive and vibrant with the graffiti art on them, such a shame the MTA had to get rid of it all... if only they could have done something different.
track@6:22 is instrumental of 'wildstyle subway rap' from the film wildstyle....id apprieciate a track I.D. of the tune@4:55 where BRIM hops the tracks....thanx! some truely great footage....the trains look so dull nowadsys....no life in them! Our subways in London have gone the same way....cctv every where & a clamp down even more with the olympics....yet thry've used a 'graffiti style' logo for their very 2012 symbol.....corporated bullshit i say.....
The unmistakable sound of these screeching wheels and brakes. 1980’s New York was just the greatest era, hop hop, rap and filthy graffiti subway cars. Just brilliant 🤘🏻🤘🏻
graffiti is painted on trains - they clean it .. graffiti is painted on trains - they clean it .. graffiti is painted on trains - they clean it ... 20 years later they figure out its a waste of time (graffiti)

at 4:40 i remember jumping the gates at the time to catch my train
Were going in like
Ever body,else
9,,guys no weapons
N,ready2 fight...
@GRANDMASTERJOE100 yea but the Subway was also a very dangerous place back then crime wise
I don't get why their isn't as much graffiti anymore. Cops aren't on all the time and there arent cameras in the carts themselves.
There graffiti proof. As soon as a train gets bombed its takin out of service.
Lot more cameras and high tech security devices than back in the days.

So low res, difficult to see anything.
You can barely identify the model of subway cars.

All the elements of hip hop were turned into career choices ,that saved many from a life of crime. That crime connection has been shown to be lies.
That Dondi car, i have not seen that one before, he was truly the King IMO
We need more of this!
Major memories. Thanks for sharing
