It's sad that this era was not documented better. There is very little footage of the South Bronx between 1970 and 1988, which I consider the Golden Era of graffiti. I remember this time with fondness. New York City had a lot of character back then, in spite of the negative view many people had of the city at the time. Now you go to Times Square and it looks like Disney land, and there are subway cars plastered with advertisements in the same way that people would complain about graffiti. It's funny how that's acceptable, but original artwork isn't.

I'm not from NYC. I'm not from that era, however, I have been made aware ever since the media broke the secret of NYC Hip Hop in the very early 1980s, therefore, I have this book on order. Yes, yes, y'all.
