I know it's been a while since I posted, but life has been busy! I am starting a new mixed media series focusing on the elements of water, fire, air and earth. I am creating a portrait that represents each of those four elements and this is the first!

She’s like the medusa of the seas! Wow, this is a great painting! Enjoyed the video, the ear was great, and I loved watching it evolve. Prior to the rhinoplasty I didn’t love her nose… After the surgery it was perfect. What a cool painting can’t wait for the rest of the series.😊

Beautiful, including that ear! Everything was wonderful. The music at the end was wonderful. You are wonderful. I’m getting sleepy and sleepier. Coming on 2 am with half a gummy onboard. I’m really very happy with the tentacles. I think they make the picture; they give weight. I💜you, too. 😴💜💜💜

I love your work! I'm an artist as well and now that I'm retired I'm painting my more. But I do have a question....do you look at a reference when you sketch people for your paintings?

Tell me please - do you use any acrylic thinner - and if so, does it have any effect on the oil when you start using ist, or is it ok when it’s dry?
Do you put anything in your acrylic wash, or is it just water?

Thank you Lynda! I just use water with acrylics. As long as they are totally dry, oils are not affected. As far as thinking up ideas, I don't know... I guess I kind of visualize things and then look for references of the elements that I want to include. Then I do sketches. Some never become paintings, but if I get that excited feeling then I'll get to work on a canvas. I read a lot, which I think helps with being able to visualize things. Keeps the imagination muscle strong. Sorry if that was long-winded.❤

Thank you Michele! This painting took between 15 and 21 hours so I filmed in time lapse mode. It would be too much footage to edit in real time for Patreon. If I could afford a professional video editor, I would do it.😊
