Chan actually hits high notes way more then most realize. It's not always in your face, but carefully listening to the adlibs and backing vocals, you can hear it. Or you can even search it up on yt and find a video compliation. I think in terms of octave reach, Chan is right behind Han and Seungmin. And then Lee Know's falsetto is behind them in terms of "high notes." As always, a great reaction!!! Can't wait for the next one❤

As with the vast majority of Stray Kids songs, they're quite open to interpretation. Waiting For Us can be interpretated as a song for the fans as well.
Fun fact and one you might enjoy seeing. At their latest fanmeet, the teams switched when singing Waiting For Us and Muddy Water 😁 both of them nailed it!
Lmao!! Most of us STAY have a special place in our hearts for Seventeen too. We really respect their hard work and self production, two of the factors that are partially behind our love for SKZ, of course. Both groups TRULY deserve all of the love they receive and I desperately hope that they contine to get more accommodations and recognition, as they truly deserve it.
Also, Carats tend to be one of the most wonderful fandoms to us as well. I can't tell you how many times a Carat has found their way into a SKZ comment section, just to let us know they too appreciate SKZ, or to simply give a kind word. I have even seen them defend SKZ and STAY against haters. In other words... you my friend have wonderful taste. I'm really glad you have found both groups.
So so excited for more Stray Kids!! Love your reactions! Since you loved ‘Lonely St’, I think you’d love Han’s solo songs ‘Happy’ and ‘Alien’. He’s one of the main songwriters of the group (part of 3RACHA), and he’s not afraid to talk about deep topics (in the ‘uplifting sad shit’ style haha which I also love too!!)

by the way the waiting for us vocal line and the muddy water rap line switched song parts and did each others live recently, its super cool bc it showed that the rappers can sing and the singers can rap

So it looks like for the first time I'll be the one to explain something in the comments...Which is funny to me, cause most of the time everyone beats me to it.
I only got to the "Charmer" song now (not stopping, still going back to the video... LOL), but just so you know, this is not the original MV (The dance to it is really good, and you can watch that one if you want). It doesn't have one, this video is a mix someone made between the ODDINARY Unveil album video, "Freeze" and "Venom" songs (those two have MVs), but it turned out really cool.
I will suggest that you watch the full Unveil track to the ODDINARY album (there is a short and full version of the Unveil, so watch the longer one, the full version), cause it's really really good on its own.

+ Lonely St. is also one of my favorite songs, STRAY KIDS always have meaningful words, and the fact that they write their own music and are doing everything on their own is a huge part of why I love them so much.

You said that you like uplifting songs with a darker message. There is a 2nd generation group called BIGBANG that I love very much and it is them that led me to Stray Kids. I love every song from both groups but when you said that, I immediately thought of Loser from BIGBANG. Please check it out. Because it’s a little older there are no subtitles so let me help you a bit by explaining that each 5 members tell their own individual story. Depression, suicide, abuse, bullying and even murder. It’s very sad with beautiful upbeat melody.
Can't go wrong with loving Maniac. Charmer didn't have a m/v. Freeze is a continuing story with I.N. Love Lonely St. Waiting for Us is their first love song (if I remember correctly). This is the oldest 2 and youngest 2. They weren't sure how STAYs would react to it since it was their first one. Sweet Really. Muddy Water: I love this one! Felix did a scientific explanation of it during their Australian tour. LOL, I still didn't understand what he meant. Felix is Australian - hence the English. HAN went to an international school where he learned British English. Bang Chan is Australian also and the others are learning English. Lee Know struggles with English, so he gets uncomfortable with English interviews. Like most foreign languages, understanding it is easier than speaking it.
Actually, Han was Homeschooled front the time he moved to Malaysia at 9, till the time he cme back to Korea to take his tests in order to graduate. I'm not sure where fans got the idea he went to an international school, but he has spoken in the truth MANY MANY times. Including whence was on Lee Mujin Service, at LENGTH. And as far back as in their predebut era, Lol. I do not belive he even began to learned English until he was came to JYP, and did o mainly from the other guys as well as by watching things like the discovery channel and animal planet lmao.... which explains his accent, because the Australian accent of the guys combined with all the British narrated non-fiction he loves so much woll definitely do that. But yeah, there was never rany international school, as he never went to school... and up until 9, he went to school in Korea. This is why just after debut he barely ever spoke English and when he did is was alot more like how Hyunjin speaks English now, juatxwatch some footage of him speaking English during their District 9 tour, you will see the difference, just between the and now. Han is actually very gifted, Chan and Changbin don't just call him a Genius because of his ability to make beautiful music. He also has a insane way with language. What he did learn when he moved to Malaysia, is Malay. Which is of course ether language. He also speaks another dialect thay belongs to a different part of Korea than the one they use within the group, for where they are now. Not to mention, him, as well as Chan, Lino (As its much more up his ally when it comes to speaking it, unlike English... which as you said he understands just fine. It's just his comfort level with his accent that prohibits him from speaking it) and Felix, are also HIGHLY advanced in Japanese. It won't be long before he's nearly fluent - fluent in 4 languages, 5 if you count the different dialect, which I personally do. One he was born into, two that became necessary due to his surrounding circumstances, and two because of his ever expanding career and desire to communicate with fans... Stray Kids are incredibly impressive, Chan and Han in particular tend to go above and beyond. 🖤

In Australia, Japanese (along with French) is taught as a foreign language in school. I know this well. I've never said the boys aren't smart. On the contrary. Anyone who can pick up a secondary language - and more - are gifted! Their music screams this as well. ❤

Charmer was my most played song on Spotify last year somehow 😅 it's worth checking out their maniac tour performance of the song, they go HARD.
Another song that really hits live is Lonly street. It's so powerful with Stays singing along.
The 2 unit songs are probably my favorite, waiting for us was dedicated to stays and Muddy water was dedicated to the haters...
In the last fan meeting they switched the songs between the units and let's just say Seungmin shook the industry a little 🤭

If you like LONELY STREET, then SLUMP is a song for you. I recommend the “First take, Japanese version” because you can see them sing it live (& be nervous about it because they only have one chance to nail it…) So cute.

The Songtell website has some good explanations but in a nutshell, "Overall, "땡 (FREEZE)" is an uplifting song that encourages listeners to break free from societal restrictions and pursue their dreams, goals, and aspirations. The repetitive use of the word "땡 (freeze)" serves as a reminder to never give up and keep pushing forward." Also if you could read the Korean newspaper, the story in the MV reveals at the end that the youngest member I.N. is actually a "double agent". IMDB explains, "Stray Kids are trying to take down a group of gangsters. After a shooting scene Stray Kids were kidnapped but they all managed to escape and get away from that place but they found a lab full of chemicals so they burnt down the whole building. But there's a twist. I.N who's a member of Stray Kids came back and took the gun that was left on the table because I.N is the gangs boss disguised as a Stray Kids member."
