    Christians these days would have a harder time when we say, "Take up your mat and walk" than if we say, "You are forgiven."

    thank you so much for bringing this story to life ! I never thought about what the paralytic must have felt before the healing, Jesus saw THEIR faith not his faith but of the man who brought him. Jesus says to him "take heart" .. the paralytic was full of shame because he knew he was a sinner Jesus forgave his sins first so that his heart could be healed and his soul restored ! waw!! thank you Jesus!

    I’m going to be honest here. Ever since my family decided to change churches because they were friends with the pastors of the new church, I’ve lost faith. I’m 13 now. We still go to that “new” church. I call myself atheist because the pastors preaching sucks - they’re nice-ish and all (excluding their daughter who yanks my hair out to the point of me crying), however their method sucks. They say, “God is the best and if you disobey even one rule from him, you have sinned and you’re going to hell. Pray and say you’re sorry.” Of course I knew this was true, however they just make me want to punch a hole in the wall - or their face, preferably. Watching this has restored my faith juuust a little, me being 8 minutes in (I’m watching this bc i need an idea for a lesson I’m planning for my youth group). I thank you for that, and I hope that one day when I’m older, I’ll have enough courage to tell my parents directly abt this matter.

      Please do not stop seeking the Lord. Church aren't perfect , I know some are better than the other but what I mean is , every one of us have flaws. And one thing that helped me also, everytime I witness things in our church that looks OFF is "I always go back in God's Word" .. .
      And it taught me that People will disappoint us but God won't.
      It taught me to depend His Word even more.
      It taught me to Love them even more and to always pray for them.
      It opened my eyes to see everyone that we're all sinners and we all need a Savior.
      So Take heart.. God is with you :)

    Solid teaching as always, when I pray for an unsaved to be healed I make it a practise to pray that God's goodness in healing them would lead them to repentance. Did Jesus know something about the man's heart position that he was in a state of repentance? I think it's very possible.

    QUESTION: No disrespect intended, but can you tell me where it says that Christians can forgive sin?

    • @serathgeber14
      @serathgeber14 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's in the bible a few times (NT) Colossians 3: 13 is the first one that comes to mind. "bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you have a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." Please read my reply to the other comment like this. It's good to ask questions to get a better understanding! Never be scared to learn about it, God wants you to know him so asking questions helps that!

    How did God give you, pastor, the power to forgive sins? Jesus gave it to his disciples directly, but Jesus is not around in flesh anymore. (Am not meant to be disrespectful, is a question I honestly have in my heart to understand)

    • @serathgeber14
      @serathgeber14 ปีที่แล้ว

      It's in the bible a few times (NT) Colossians 3: 13 is the first one that comes to mind. "bear with each other and forgive one another if any of you have a grievance against someone. Forgive as the Lord forgave you." As far as my understanding, it's not meant to be taken literal. It's more so of a forgive others as you'd like to be forgiven by God and by forgiving others it will help open their hearts to receiving the message as well. Plus technically we can all be his disciples by continuing to teach others His word. But I'm also new to the bible and am still studying myself! This is just my understanding of it. The sermon on the mount part is really helpful to understand gods expectations of us too. I found the OT super confusing and didn't really understand it until I read the NT. And Matthew 6:43-48 is all about loving our enemies and those who hurt us. It's part of the sermon on the mount as well.
