@Sal DiMarchese I would definitely disagree with you.. 15 years ago Arsenal had already left the conversation. Chelsea always co-dominated. Along with Manchester United. When United left the chat.. it was Manchester City and Chelsea. Since 2013 only Manchester City and Chelsea has had multiple premier league wins. Manchester City has out spent chelsea every season for the last 10 years and have not won the UCL. Money does not guarentee UCL success, ask psg. Chelsea have spent and changed directions every season and still won alot. Manchester United have spent even more post fergie and are still failures. Give the Chelsea the credit they deserve for winning in chaos. My opinion is that the pressure put on players and managers at chelsea was greater than what Ole and others have faced at united.

Jamie's about right. I look at pre-season, I look at the two definitive teams played, the older more experienced team in one half that was typically boring, linear and didn't produce goals then I look at the younger team, the more dynamic, hungry, ruthless high energy team that could play through an AC Milan 2 banks of four and I hear Ole talking about giving youth a chance and I think yes we've learnt, those young lads are ambitious and hungry to prove themselves with fitness, skill, ability and chemistry between them that won't want to let themselves or the fans down and seize the opportunity they have been given.
Then I see the more experienced boring linear team being selected for games and people are surprised expecting to see anything different other than boring, linear, non-directional and lathargic football. The proof is in the stats "every pre-season goal was either scored or assisted by a youth team player" sure they'll make mistakes and lose some games but they would come back fighting and twice as determined the next game to make amends.
Ole talks about youth and long term but he isn't implementing what he proved in pre-season with the 2 individual teams he played! Why not? God knows. But he is suffering the detriment of it now, maybe he's not allowed or maybe he simply didn't see it, which would worry me but I severely doubt that as he seemed to be looking to prove a point which he did but isn't implementing it. Greenwood, Chong, James, Gomes, McTominay, Pogba (not a big fan but hey), Williams (could have been O'Connor but he got fed up and went to Celtic) Maguire (at fault for the Newcastle goal but better than no jump Lindelof) Tuanzabe, Wanbisaka (fantastic player) and De Gea is a hungry skilled team able to play through tightly packed defenses and produce goals and that's what we need, do as you say Ole and give youth a chance.

Man United remind me now of What Liverpool were in the 90s. I don't know if Pep and Jurgen will be around for the entirety of the New Decade and it's unlikely.

I get surprised when people say players are not committed to the club and we have to buy players who want to play for united. I think the premise for playing football has changed over the past 20yrs where players only go to clubs they supported and had heart for but now it is absolutely retarding to think like that. Be cause of the changed trends, you get the payer and created an environment for them to stay.
We have always read the favorite line of players when they move from one club to another “this is my dream team and I wanted to be here" we have to get quality players and win their heart and make them see reason for being here.

It’s hard to imagine a big money transfer coming in now if they aren’t in the Champions League, which seems likely at this point. Maguire is one thing, he’s English and United was (past tense lol) seen as a step up from Leicester. United might have got themselves to a point where it will be incredibly difficult to recover the power they once had in the football world. It would have to take some radical changes in the club for them to start getting on the right path again, and that starts with their ownership.

Exactly and its cos hes a foreigner. It all started when Fellaini bullied English darlings like Gerrard and Shawcross. The brits didnt like it. The man is a cdm and a top one at that. Go look at Belgiums midfield players and Fellaini was starting for them every game. He turned up in big games for us and fpr Belgium. Was top class at the world cup. Won us the fa cup under lvg with vital goals in quarters n semis. Hes scored some vital goals for United too. He had a presence in midfield and battled for our shirt. He wasnt a striker and still went up without whinging and done well. So we blame him for being versatile. Blame moyes for being a longball merchant. But we rave about Fred who loses the ball without any pressure or opposition around him. Fellaini never lost the bloody ball. Look at his pass stats they were consistently one of the highest for United. The problem in England is no one has their own opinions. If one person says somenthing or the media say it, the rest automatically believe it and repeat it. Us Brits are clueless at football and you see the results at international level and tournaments.

Jimbo Slice fellaini is top class! He adapts his game so quickly to any situation..yeah he missed some passes here and there but the man worked for the whole team for 90 mins every time, he always commits..these are the midfielders United need along Pogba! U need a solid disrupter to break opposition play and he was very good at it..now who does that job for United? Once they lose the ball is panic, they don’t even run back

The change of direction that Gary Neville is probably alluding to could be:
    1. Recruiting players merely as a stop gap solution i.e Zlatan, (Di Maria, Falcao, Bastian - albeit not very successful solutions), Instead of recruiting young, talented and hungry players that can be cultivated and nurtured for the foreseeable future and will be the core of the squad. Liverpool being the best example.
    2. The change in playing styles by the rapid and constant replacement of managers. We've gone from extremely conservative in Moyes, semi-conservative in Van Gaal, effective but boring Mourinho, and now Ole who appears to not have a clue and relies on counter-attacking football but with strikers who have very little end product. The constant change in tactics and style of play will be unsettling to players, more so to viewers and fans of United who grow accustomed to one style but very quickly have to adapt to something else (which could explain their impatience and annoyance instead of the perseverance that the club usually furnishes its managers).
All these present a change of direction from what the tried and tested blue print of the modern game is of today/ even the philosophy of Manchester United.

Problem is we cant without a doubt consider him not good enough, when the worlds best managers prior to Ole severely struggled with arguably a stronger United squad.
Its quite obvious that the problem is upstairs and the break in communication between the business side and the football side, a technical director is imperative over having Woodward who has little to no idea what he is doing.
