I think the match making has definitely improved. I noticed it more after update 4. I used to hate qualifying well, as that meant I'd probably be getting smacked off on the first corner. Game still crashes on multiplayer, penalties are still messed up, wide bodies still don’t work, AI is still bad. I hope it gets better because the driving is phenomenal
Yeah they have addressed most of the issues in update 5. They’re looking into penalties and taking live data to adjust the system which is great. The ai needs a full rework though but they’re going to fix it to bud.

That little chicane at Maple Valley can be taken using a bit of grass on each side without issues. You just need to stay as far left as you can through the previous left hander and turn in early to line it up. When you get it right you can gain a huge advantage. I wish people would read up on racing etiquette and what you should and shouldn't do. Aggressive defending like that (at Laguna Seca) is something you shouldn't do. Move once and deal with it. He caused that by trying to block at every chance he got.

The past few days I’ve had some amazing racing with people. Safety rating is S and driver rating is 4969. I guess the ranking has finally come into play as I’ve had so many more clean and competitive races recently. Actually starting to enjoy the game again!
wow you got a good driver rating buddy, well done. Yeah i think the ranking system is slowly starting to work correctly. To an extent, some still get through the cracks. Overall does seem so much better. I am glad to hear your enjoying it again, thats great news. :D

Safety rating sometimes goes between A and S due to some races getting improper penalties. I still get the odd race with some dirty drivers, but nowhere near as much as before. If also noticed other drivers avenging me if they see if have been punted off lol. The real fans of the game are fighting back! Great video man, as always

I had some great racing last night, which made up for the morning. 4 to 5 car battles race long, they just need to make sure they're not slow fixing the game..
Yeah, I have to say, I am not happy with the performance of the game. I am not running it on a potato, and struggle to get a decent /consistent frame rate. Yes I can lower the graphics settings but that defeats the point lol. This game like all the previous and even the horizon series runs really well, this on the other hand..... I do think they are going to fix the issues, I do not think it would be abandoned, rather let the dust settle, see where everything is at and fix accordingly. Its easy for us all to shout and call the shots, but sometimes taking a step back, seeing a bigger picture is better. First port of call though, fix performance issues. saying this needs to be on a SSD or NVME drive is daft. It should run fine of a HDD, its not exactly graphically an improvement on the previous games, or has it got anything new that's blowing it out of the water. its just poorly optimised thus needing faster hardware to fix the crap coding lol Second Fix replays. Glad to hear you found some great racing, of course a lot is hit and miss. Not every race is going to be amazing, need to see the crap to appreciate the good lol.

Why optimise when the drive can deliver faster speeds. Same with other games. Plenty of modders out there who optimised the code of games and cut loading times by half or double the performance. I am using a g920 Logitech wheel. It may be incorrect term I am using calling it a 2 step braking but I brake hard at the 300 marker. Let off of a second then apply the brake again hard to try and keep the car stable and under control. I find braking later I miss the corner and if I hold the brake down at the 3 marker I am too early and the car is unstable at the crest of the hill. Thus not cornering as expected or desired.
You sure its not just because after braking hard on G920 pedals you need a quick pause to recover your energy before having the strength to brake again? 😄 @@Flashms
Quick question for you, can't remember if you mentioned this in your video showing your settings for your G920, but what do you have the rotation set at in GHUB? I can't make up my mind if 540 degrees operating angle or 360 degrees is better. Sometimes I feel that at 360 degrees that its a bit too sensitive, but on 540 sometimes the centre marking on the wheel can decide to be slightly offset and thats offputting.
I still have it set to 900 bud. I find the Logitech centre dead zone to be a little to large so when you make little adjustments either nothing happens or it’s too much. To be fair at 900 the most I turn the wheel in touring cars is around 90 degrees even on the tight corners. So the Logitech g hub has not been touched. All the settings are done in the game settings but rotation has not been touched just feedback.

I tried 900, but I think 720 might be the sweet spot for me. I did feel that there's more subtlety with the higher settings when it comes to making slight movements but I think, for me, at 900 there's a little bit too much rotation needed for very tight corners. I do realise though, that playing with only 360 degrees was almost like it was making me wrestle the car around corners rather than feather the brake and accelerator pedal to get the rotation if you know what I mean? @@Flashms

The past couple of weeks have been infinitely better racing. I suck, but now I am not being immediately punted to the back of the field, and I am getting closer to a 4000 rating (up about 300 points since Jan 1)

I think the rankings are balancing out and the people who are trying are rising to the higher lvls (3500+?) I noticed the other night as i happened to be the only person in a race….don’t do that. Racing against no one caused me -50points?!
Yeah that's a good point, maybe things are now starting to balance out. HAHAHA you lost 50 points for racing against yourself, how on earth does that work out? Also I think a large factor is the novelty of a "new game" is dwindling away so that also leaves us behind to have a cleaner race. While they move on to other things.
One race this week I was pit manoeuvred and bumped off corner 3 times by the same car. There's still assholes who know how to abuse the penalty system. Every other race, seemed like everyone wanted clean races. (S 4800 player here)
Oh yeah there is always one player. The part that gets me is if I did the exact same thing back to that player, I would get the penalty lol. I am glad to hear your other races were better though. I do think it is getting better overall. I wish the ratings meant more, at the moment seems to be an after thought. Time will tell though. Keep smiling buddy. Also if you meet a player like that again. I turn it into a sporting event called “helping karma” of course that’s providing I have enough time to do so lol. Usually find everyone joins in with you and helps out if that person has wronged them to lol. Gets quite interesting.

That is so true, sometimes we are the ones who are off pace, slower and in the wrong place at the wrong time. Creating our own issues and annoying others around lol. I have to say, I have not touched GT races since launch era, so I cannot comment on the driver level there. Could it be a connection with dirty drivers and being of pace? Like they are dirty, pushing you to be overly cautions and then exacerbating the issue further?
@@Flashms it could well be mate, I’ve spent so long working on caution in the early race that I’ve possibly let it leak in to my pace overall, for example I was doing a 2:05.300 on the Nurburgring GP track but the top 5 were doing 2:01-2:02 so it’s quite the gap over 5 or more laps. It is what it is and I’ll be on rivals chasing times around that marker to get quicker again! But yes, getting knocked about does also lead to slower paces in general I’d say 😂
It's so easily done, I think rivals is a great place to put you back on pace and give you the kick you need sometimes. Keep at it bud, yeah rivals can also be a little boring after 20 laps lol, but least your back up to the top again. Ill be lucky to get that time at the ring GP, I do not get on with that track lmao.
It will, but I did hear that yes it took 6 years to build from the ground up but that term was used incorrectly. The game was re built so future development, updates etc are seem less rather than game breaking. I mean don’t get me wrong I do not mind waiting for new things. I kinda like the idea. Saves exhausting the game within a few weeks. Yes they could have given us more to begin with. It was very empty at the beginning. It is getting better. Could add a few more tracks. I think another 3/5 would be a good spot and after that monthly releases. I don’t know bud. I’m so on the fence lol I like it and don’t at the same time. So I can see both sides. Again maybe add a little more now and then dribble the rest. It is barren but with feedback, them listening and fixing it, I think it will turn out great. Providing they do keep listening lol

Like I say I do think they needed to add a good 3/5 more tracks at the beginning because it was very barren. 500 cars and 12 tracks lol. Maybe less, so I Totally understand what you are saying. On the other hand I can get on board with the drip feed method to keep people engaged. Maybe not so obvious but I understand it. I do think we still need more as of now. It does get repetitive fast where if we had more it wouldn’t. There is a balance for both. It’s just finding that balance. I agree there needs to be a drag strip that would be so cool. I totally understand why hand out drag tires etc when it’s not used. But this is where the drip method fails. Because you gave us 50 percent. Why give something we cannot use. It really is a blast. I do wish they would create a tire model for wear and blow outs etc but overall it’s an amazing game that they update for FREE I couldn’t thank them enough.

I will say the game is better but still not enough to do in the game.. it will take years at this rate to catch up
It will, but I did hear that yes it took 6 years to build from the ground up but that term was used incorrectly. The game was re built so future development, updates etc are seem less rather than game breaking. I mean don’t get me wrong I do not mind waiting for new things. I kinda like the idea. Saves exhausting the game within a few weeks. Yes they could have given us more to begin with. It was very empty at the beginning. It is getting better. Could add a few more tracks. I think another 3/5 would be a good spot and after that monthly releases. I don’t know bud. I’m so on the fence lol I like it and don’t at the same time. So I can see both sides. Again maybe add a little more now and then dribble the rest. It is barren but with feedback, them listening and fixing it, I think it will turn out great. Providing they do keep listening lol
I agree , I hop on 4 a couple days get bored take a break, come back a month later.. exc exc .. there needs to be a drag strip and drift track... there are weld rims and drag tires in the game.. we need a track people can hand out and watch drag racing exc and bs.. then go back racing @@Flashms

@roblee1094 i do not think you are asking to much buddy. I mean if this game came out in perfect working order I think people would be far more satisfied but it didn’t lol. Like I say I do think they needed to add a good 3/5 more tracks at the beginning because it was very barren. 500 cars and 12 tracks lol. Maybe less, so I Totally understand what you are saying. On the other hand I can get on board with the drip feed method to keep people engaged. Maybe not so obvious but I understand it. I do think we still need more as of now. It does get repetitive fast where if we had more it wouldn’t. There is a balance for both. It’s just finding that balance.

Because you gave us 50 percent. Why give something we cannot use. Simple things like that should have been day one. Drip feed new tracks etc later.

It really is a blast. I do wish they would create a tire model for wear and blow outs etc but overall it’s an amazing game that they update for FREE I couldn’t thank them enough.
