Great topic. Sometimes times we preachers find our identity in preaching. We can’t imagine how we would live or function without it. That can be dangerous for some, because they will go to any lengths to protect their position in a ministry or church. Preacher need to find their identity and self-worth in Christ. They also need marketable skills to provide a living so that they don’t NEED ministry to survive.
I think it's your own personal convection but we have to remember that are bodies are the temple of the holy ghost so for me drinking any alcoholic isn't good for a christian. Now if you struggle with drinking alcoholic beverages then thats a huge no. But for me I don't drink any alcoholic drinks because it's part of my consecration unto the Lord.
@Jerimiah Reeves I thought he was talking about outside of the church like social drinking.. but ya it depends on the pastor to use wine for communion if this is the case I think it's ok.
Please say No, pulling down imaginations and strongholds demand we strive for purity in the flesh. Our minds are at enmity with God, He let them put that crown of thorns upon His head so we could gain healing in our minds. Wine and prescription drugs are terrible struggles to overcome, please don't ask for trouble.
