- Last year I made my first foray into craft makers as a (very) small-time fibre artist! And after five whirlwind markets, I'm here to dish about everything:
- Costs and fees
- Profits
- What sold well
- What didn't
- Are markets even worth it??
If you're looking to get into the market game in 2024, give this a watch and then get in touch with any of your questions! If I can make markets easier for anyone, it's worth it!

Maybe the collars will sell better if you had a manikin head and shoulders or one of those jewelry stands so people knew what they were? They look like they would fit the cottage-core vibe.
That’s a really great idea! I’m definitely going to look for a better way to display them.
I love hearing that your beautiful orginal artwork was a hit! Congrats!❤
Thank you so much! It was really cool. 🥹☺️
It seems like people prefer the smaller cheaper items so I'd recommend making some bookmarks for the next time plan on doing markets! either woven or felted. When I sold at a (poorly organized) school run market, a woven bookmark was one of the 3 things I sold 💀 My theory is that people prefer things with functionality and are willing to spend some extra $$ on handmade things they know they'll use. So like apparel and accessories. As for wall hangings... I love making wall hangings but not everyone sees the vision as a decor item 🥲 I don't know what your other wall hangings looked but if you want to sell them again maybe try making them with a variety of yarn/patterns/textures? or making some that are a bit bigger. Just an idea! Anyway this was a very informative video. Markets are something I've always had in the back of my mind but they just seemed like too much of a hassle.... but I keep making things and don't know what to do with them!!
Thank you for comment! I think you're definitely on to something with the functionality. Markets are for sure a hassle but can be super fun! :P
Thank you for sharing your experiences. I am looking into turning my hobby into something that can perhaps support itself, or at least take the edge off the costs of materials. 😅There is so much I don't know and I am glad I found your channel.😊
I really appreciate you watching and commenting! I like to share my experiences for the exact reasons. I hope you do delve into it!!
