Used to go to Miami everyday when I was holidaying in Goldie from boring old Melbourne. Used to grab some beers, takeaway and jit the beach. Reckon I've been there!

Hey there Greg. Now that place looked good. I liked everything about it. The inside of the shop looked cool but the fish and chips looked excellently excellent! Best so far I'd say. Going to have to remember this place if I'm ever lucky enough to visit Australia. Thanks for sharing!
oh mate, I could tell those chips and fish were absolutely ripper before you even tasted them. I was salivating. Unfortunately as I live in England I don't think I'm gonna get to taste them. Damn!!!!!

The fishing chip shops in S/E Queensland are disappointing and mostly sell imported fish which is a shame!! At least in Far North Queensland you can still get local fish caught of the reef E.G Spanish mackerel is standard fair up north, in the fish and chip shops and you can get proper red throat sweetlip and coral trout, red emperor etc.

DOOD!!! went there on the weekend because of this review and they are FANTASTIC! So far the best we've found on the GC. Their prawn cutlets are freaking huge, plump and tasty, the calamari just melts in the mouth and that fish batter is light and crispy. Thanks for reviewing them, as i would never have come across them otherwise. And bonus is the french bakery next door for dessert!

Prob depends where you are in NZ. I'm in the Wairarapa- not so much. I hate to say it but the best fish and chips I've had was in England. Flaxen Saxon.

I only ever get Pollock (name of fish) fish sticks English style. I'd like to eat baby pickerel fried with a white flour, salt and pepper coating. But pickerel is really expensive.
Years ago I paid $18 for fish and chips in Tassie , catch of the day , last nice dish was Doyle's Sydney.

Generally we pronounce it "Tarder" actually, even though here it's still spelled Tartar (minus the e) ;) That fish looked great! I wish chicken salt was an option in these parts. Either salt or no salt, and usually you get the opposite of what you want.

@@GregsKitchen Go over the border just a bit, to Chindera fish and chips. Right next to the Tweed river it's beautiful. On father's Day the wait time got to an hour and a half!

I have been all over Australia and let me tell you all states have shit house fish and chips except for Victoria.
Victoria is the capital and most agree with this.
I'm a Vic that has been all over Australia and can definitely say the best is from my home state. Tried Fish and Chips from all over the country and wasn't quite sure what was the best. But then a few Greeks opened up a fish and chip shop a few minutes from my house and I could safely say that they are the best I've ever had. @ The Catch Carnegie is the shop. Bit more expensive than others, but it's the freshness and the quality that you're paying for. They make their fish and chips with love, unlike the Asians who buy dirt cheap frozen basa and put the prices high just for extra financial gain
