Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky (born May 7, 1840 - November 6, 1893), also known as Pyotr Tchaikovsky, was a Russian composer. Many of his works became internationally known during his lifetime. Today they are among the most important of Romanticism. In Russia today he is considered the most important composer of the 19th century.
