Jay Park spoke to VladTV about how he made his way from Seattle to South Korea after getting an offer to be in a boy band when he was 18. Jay explained that he knew nothing about the music industry and very little about South Korea, adding that he took an opportunity that he thought would help out his family.

Can you please interview BTS🙏🙏. I like how ur questions are serious and not joking around. BTS is pretty big rn and they need a good interview (they gave been getting really stupid ones). Oh and bring a translator with u & make sure all members can answer the questions. I hope u can ask them about how they became a group, what they were doing before becoming a group, how parents/family felt about their choices,
what was it like when they met- first impressions, lifestyle changes, trainee process- what was it like & what did they do, the struggles they had to face both individuallly and as a group (TALK ABOUT THEIR PAST BC THAT HASN'T REALLY BEEN QUESTIONED IN ANY INTERVIEWS IN AMERICA). Also please ask what being an idol means (VITAL QUESTION), the restrictions they have, how hard they work- if it's too much & if it's getting better now, what is kpop & do they consider themselves K-pop bc a lot of their fans keep saying they aren't- do they want that to stop bc they are in fact kpop? (IMPORTANT QUESTION), their messages, their concept photos (NO ONE HAS TALKED ABOUT THIS OML), their music writing process, breaking Asian stereotypes now that they are global & are well known in America (ASK IF THEY ARE AWARE OF THE STEREOTYPES FOR ASIANS FIRST), breaking language barriers (how it doesn't matter what language music is in it's still music and it's a universal language, TALK TO THEM ABOUT HOW LOTS OF PPL LISTEN TO SPANISH MUSIC W/O UNDERSTANDING IT BUT STILL LIKE IT SO WHY CAN'T THEY LIKE KPOP/MUSIC IN KOREAN), breaking the barriers of the stereotype kpop has (BUT FIRST ASK THEM IF THEY ARE AWARE OF KPOP STEREOTYPES IN WESTERN SOCIETY), what messages they want to talk about/send in the future, what issues they believe the world is undergoing that they want to talk about in their music, what styles of music they wish to try, if other members will release mixtapes/albums/playlists too, if Agust D will return this before the year ends (like December) with like a full album, ask the members to say 3 things (or more) they admire about each member and then 3 things (or less) they wish they would change/work on, who would they like to collaborate with in the future (Twitter exploded when they saw BTS & A.... bc they believed it was BTS & Ariana Grande. Please ask if this collab will happen. Ask if the Shawn Mendes collab will happen too bc he's been wanting to do it since the 2017 AMAs. Ask them if they could get Justin Beiber & other big music artists to collaborate with them now that they got to do it with Nicki Minaj. Please tell them it's not a bad thing to collaborate with Western artists especially the really big ones. BTS thinks too much about their collabs & they think that other ppl will think they're just "using" the big Western music artists for more fame but that's just the case they will get SOOOO MUCH recognition from media & the general public if they do this. Please tell them not to be hesitant and that if they wait too long, it'll be too late. They won't be the first anymore & the opportunity will be gone) and please ask about how they manage Twitter since it's like their main social media & they have 3 accounts (I wonder how they check their feed when it's always blowing up & how they are about to see what other artists have said about them & what verified accounts say about them and how they basically keep track with the news), oh and also ask about their views on the whole North Korea- South Korea conflict & what's been happening lately & how their parents generation & older relatives generation struggled though the war that went on & how they want to help out but being good people
I like that u want the person ur interviewing to completely finish what they are saying but u don't need to have such a long pause. It gets awkward. And maybe u should say other things besides "okay" after the person answers your question. But otherwise I really enjoyed your interview. Please continue to ask real, good, serious questions like this
@@Fan-nr9zp It would be nice but his questions seem quite invasive and in part 2 he pulls things up from the past that aren't all that big of an issue e.g. some comments that JP had made when he was younger that caused a negative backlash (and I mean he pulled up tweets, not just mentioning them). He also, while talking to Kris (Wu) kept bringing up/questioning his relationship with his father as he grew up and was very persistent w/ them (literally for 2 minutes). It could turn out ok but I just have a bad feeling about it.

When he left 2pm was one of the most dramatic things that happened in kpop . Dude the day he left and border the plane so many people were screaming and crying at the airport! Shit was wild . And then 2pm crying at the award show and other idols crying with them. Wild.

lyrical venus I was following the drama back then and JYP announced Jay would be on indefinite hiatus as well as 2pm then after a long time it was announced jay wouldn’t be with 2pm anymore. When jay was trying to re-debut in Korean music shows JYP banned him for the major ones. Jay even talks about it in one of his (diss) tracks.

He wasn’t kicked out. Korean fans said they wanted him gone, but JYPE literally said that they wouldn’t dismiss Jay. Jay made the decision himself to leave anyway.

honestly, jay’s mistake in the past is what actually inspired and encouraged me. the thing is, he admitted his mistake and learned a hard lesson from it. now that he’s in the roc nation and have just released his first single in the usa, he brought out soju but not any other western culture based element. but umm you still blame him for what he did back in 2005???? i respect jay park and have him as my inspiration because he didn’t give up with his dreams and passion even in such deep end then, instead, he took a break and stood up and finally came back with a much better and stronger version of himself. people make mistakes when we were young when we didn’t know as much as we thought we do. what’s so precious about being a human is that we have the ability to think and look back on ourselves, learn from the mistakes and become a better person. nobody’s perfect, but we’re all trying to live a better life don’t we?
it’s come to the point that people forget that jay park was in 2pm that was so long ago and clearly he thrived after leaving. crazy how this situation reminded me a little about kris from exo, they left and sought out new opportunities.
