I think season 5 is now my favorite season because of the last episode and Viren’s redemption. As well as the Sun Fire Elf side arc was much better than season four’s arc. Also the focus on not just the Arch Dragon adding more characters helped increase the diversity of season 5.
I liked Sea Legs and the season 5 finale because of the battles, Callum’s spells, the creation of discussions about what’s going to happen next, and I also enjoyed the humorous moments in the show like Stella eating peanut butter and then her getting the cute eyes as she enjoyed it.

I enjoyed watching all five seasons of The Dragon Prince. They fascinated me. I love magic, adventures, fun, fantasy, and creatures. And I can't wait for season six to be released and see what happens next. A new adventure another day.
Something i really would like to see in season 6 is like ball of the 5 united kingdoms and we can see Queen Aanya and Ezran can have some more screen time like i feel we need more Ezran and see how he has grown like Callum and Rayla had grown very much. So maby Ezran began to like Queen Aanya like they wil make a cute couple and Ezran can finaly have that talk with Callum about peanut butter sandwiches😂😂🙈
Maybe an unpopular opinion, but I actually like season 2 best and think it has the best pacing of any other season in the series. While I used to consider season 3 my favorite, upon multiple rewatches the cracks have started to show and I've discovered a few big things that bug me. Despite maybe not having the strongest opening, or even the strongest ending, of any season, season 2 really hits it out of the park in the middle imo with Callum's quest to learn sky magic and come to terms with Harrow's death, as well as the slow yet compelling introduction of Aaravos. The Harrow and Sarai flashbacks were also fantastic and greatly helped shed light on how complex the conflict between the humans and Xadians has been. I think overall, my ranking would be: 1. Season 2 2. Season 3 3: Season 5 4. Season 1 5: Season 4 Season 5 is fun and I love the darker tone, but I do still think it's a bit messy and unfocused at times, with a few big plot contrivances that I didn't fully buy. So I have it squarely in the middle.
I am just now watching this show, super late to the discussion, and you're the only opinion I've found that loves season 2 as much as me. Season 5 was better than 4, but still didn't beat 2 and 3 for me. It's about as good as 1, but for entirely different reasons. Viren is so well written in 4 and 5, and honestly so is Callum, but I feel like they lose a lot of the other things that made me love Seasons 1-3
Good question, we know being a eatthblood elf, Terry has the ability to use earth magic, but it's not impossible for elves to use dark magic, and aaravos did invent the concept of dark magic right, so I don't see why it can't be done for them

Season 5 highlights were Virens redemption arc, Sunfire side given better pacing, Callum and Finnegrin interaction & Dark magic, and Rayllum starting to heal
Season five was my fav so far, but in episode 9 I wanted Soren to go down to retrieve the prison with Ezra’s since he is the crown guard after all. And that would mean that he and Claudia would get to have some screen time together. But that also allows Callum to stay on the boat with Rayla which would give us yet another sweet Rayllum moment this season. But I still love how how ep 9 went down in the end!
I had very similar rankings of the seasons. I actually think season five might be my favourite because of the darker tones (Callum literally gets tortured for information!). I do think season four was the weakest season but I did not hate it. I also loved Kim'dael! I actually really liked finnegrin as well, because he was sinister, cunning, cruel and he loves chaos and being in control. Great video! Keep up the good work!
I love the show the best part about this show is that they give us hints at the begging for the next seasons for example the coins until season 3 we saw that there are 3 coins but in the end credits there were 4 i knew there would be another coin but i didn’t know when will they show us who it is. Also in the end credits of s4 there is viren getting dizzy and faints but not all of us noticed and now in s5 there is some guy a skywing elf in end credits of ep4 or 5 don’t remember which i think we will see in s6 they are probably gonna so and get the star diamonds to free rayla’s parent but at the end aaravos is probably gonna get freed i’m just scared he might posses calum and free himself but i am curious about viren is he gonna die?
My rankings and ratings are the same as yours! Except for season 4 is only 2.5 jelly tarts for me, I didn't like it that much. And I totally agree with you about season 1, it is underrated it was a *really good* season! I loved it so much and loved the characters already at that point when I first watched it. Season 5 was amazing but season 3 has everything that I love about the dragon prince and so remains my favourite. But nothing will ever make me not love the dragon prince the show as a whole is 5 jelly tarts!!! I’m a little shock that you like season 3 more then season 5. In my defense I believe season 5 was the best as it really digs into the darkness of how evil and violent this show might become. Along with showing us that characters might die since we almost had Amaya and Callum along with rayla kinda. Almost died. So I really feel like we will get another death scene soon. And if so, why could he be reinstated after season 3? All in all it shows some very poor decision making on Ezran's part. He wants to avoid war, so he makes sure it happens. He also knew he would go to jail. There were so many better options, though to be fair no good options.

1. Season 3 (6/5 jellytarts) absolute perfection 2. Season 5 (5/5 jellytarts) so good, the show redeemed itself 3. Season 2 (4.5/5 jellytarts) amazing writing and animation 4. Season 1 (4/5 jellytarts) perfect start to the show and nearly perfect season 5. Season 4 (2/5 jellytarts) I was so hyped for this and it failed to deliver, the animation was significantly worse and the mood was just wrong. There were to many fart jokes and I really didn't like some if the new character designs, it made sense to get different designs but the old one were just so good and the new ones just don't feel right for the characters.
I honestly agree with this whole ranking. Season 4: poor season, unfocused, not cohesive, trying to tie the outside TV material into the show alienating fans, tonally unwell. Season 1: solid season, used for ground working, and character building for the most part, not great but not bad, a good start. Season 2: a good season, character building with relationships and motivations. Season 5: a return to form, a more mature dark tone with bits of true team zym humor sprinkled through, ever looming threats. Season 3: the perfect season of animated television post ATLA, build up and pay off from the previous 2 seasons come to a head and work beautifully.
Since we know that Book 6 is going to be called "Stars", I wonder what Book 7 is going to be called? Could it be called "The Orphan Queen" and how it all began?

I mostly agree with most of your other rankings... except season 3 is honestly my least favorite of the entire series. Yes, I really would rank season 4 above season 3. I get that opinion is incredibly unpopular, but I absolutely cannot stand the writing in season 3. The abdication plot was the most contrived (and POINTLESS) thing that TDP has done, and (now I REALLY know this will be unpopular) the romance took up way too much precious time. I get that they thought they were getting canceled so the writers wanted those two together but as I go through on my rewatches, I have to fast-forward through the overly cheesy Rayla/Callum dance. I know, I know - y'all hate me for saying this. I have absolutely nothing against the couple (I root for them; I'm just not invested), but with how little time they have for the overall story, I truly think they should have put more focus on Ezran's plot with Viren or on the consequences of Viren's spell over the human armies. I was so much more curious about those plot points. I consider myself lucky that I had binged the whole series shortly before season 4 came out, or I would have given up. Seasons 4 and 5 sincerely reinvigorated my enjoyment of the show, to the point that I now look up YT videos about it.

There were to many fart jokes and I really didn't like some if the new character designs, it made sense to get different designs but the old one were just so good and the new ones just don't feel right for the characters.

I honestly agree with this whole ranking.
Season 4: poor season, unfocused, not cohesive, trying to tie the outside TV material into the show alienating fans, tonally unwell.
Season 1: solid season, used for ground working, and character building for the most part, not great but not bad, a good start.
Season 2: a good season, character building with relationships and motivations.
Season 5: a return to form, a more mature dark tone with bits of true team zym humor sprinkled through, ever looming threats.
Season 3: the perfect season of animated television post ATLA, build up and pay off from the previous 2 seasons come to a head and work beautifully.
Since we know that Book 6 is going to be called "Stars", I wonder what Book 7 is going to be called? Could it be called "The Orphan Queen" and how it all began?
I figured it would be called dark, to focus on dark magic, it's technically a source of magic, and wouldn't it be cool that the darkest season would be called dark

Season 5 is just so good, with the drama in the sunfire elf camp and raylum healing and of course callum, this was a great callum season.Season 4 is just sad, its like they rushed it, and raylum is terrible, but its the dragon prince, so no season is awful.season 3 is great, season 2 is ok and season 1 is a bit less that the others bc its the start so they have to lay the foundations,but still ok.Is there going to be 2 more seasons btw? i think it should just be 6, like what are they gonna call season season 7, season 6 will be the last primal magic, star.Oh wait thyre gonna call it dark magic probobably.Last thing, isnt Aaravos in seasons 2 and 3 just crazy!I love him, hes one of the best antagonists of all time in any tv show.

I mostly agree with most of your other rankings... except season 3 is honestly my least favorite of the entire series. Yes, I really would rank season 4 above season 3. I get that opinion is incredibly unpopular, but I absolutely cannot stand the writing in season 3. The abdication plot was the most contrived (and POINTLESS) thing that TDP has done, and (now I REALLY know this will be unpopular) the romance took up way too much precious time.
I get that they thought they were getting canceled so the writers wanted those two together but as I go through on my rewatches, I have to fast-forward through the overly cheesy Rayla/Callum dance. I know, I know - y'all hate me for saying this. I have absolutely nothing against the couple (I root for them; I'm just not invested), but with how little time they have for the overall story, I truly think they should have put more focus on Ezran's plot with Viren or on the consequences of Viren's spell over the human armies. I was so much more curious about those plot points. I consider myself lucky that I had binged the whole series shortly before season 4 came out, or I would have given up.
Seasons 4 and 5 sincerely reinvigorated my enjoyment of the show, to the point that I now look up YT videos about it.
