For reference, bear and wolf are both actually gay terms referring to stereotypes or aesthetics of gay men. Bear is considered more "openly" gay of the two because of how widely known the stereotype is. So Synthetic Brain isn't wrong that bears are more gay than wolves, but its a dumb joke anyway cause his first transformation is a bear so... He's still an idiot. As someone who has been referred to as a wolf before, I take offense that he would suggest I am not higher on the gayness tier lol.
You guys are awesome I loved the video. I hope you also do Mahler‘s super cut of synthetic cause it reveals some absolutely insane things which I won’t spoil in case you do also I just recommend in general to watch metal commanders play through. It’s genuinely really cool. What happens in the end
On the topic of Thrud's cleaver, it could be inspired by the medieval falchion, basically a medieval oversized cleaver. The falchion was used because it hard greater force than a regular arming sword, a full blade length compared to an axe, and great cutting, cleaving, and beating power behind it. This weapon was invented about 300 years after the viking invasions of England and it worked better against the armour of the time. However in the world where gods exist with their godly power and armours and lets just say rock hard skin, I could definitely see a place for this adaptation of the falchion, especially when being used by Thor's daughter
Solid point! The argument I'd have against that is the sheer size of the Falchion. They'd be around 35-40 inches long so you'd have a hefty slab of metal behind the swing. Thrud's cleaver looks to be a bit shorter, but not by TOO much and I'm eyeballing it. I think in the context of being a weapon used by a god it's perfectly fine since she has abnormal strength to back up her swing. The main issue I'd have with it is threat range, since she's also quite small compared to the other strength-based gods. It wouldn't be my weapon of choice if I were her, but it's not unusable.
@@TheKAIGamesCoI could say much the same for Mjolnir. If it was just a hammer and not something that was able to fly and engage at range, it would be entirely impractical because of its limited reach. It’s a small, one handed weapon wielded with no shield in the off hand. We accept it because we’re used to these depictions of Thor, but as a war hammer it is exceptionally impractical.
@@TheNoonish Yeah, but as was stated during the video, there's more lore behind Mjolnir and why its impractical yet Thor still uses it. It is explained by the narrative of the mythos itself. Whereas Thrud's weapon was a decision by the studio behind the game, and doesn't have all that narrative lore behind it justifying why it's what it is even if it is not the most efficient weapon for her. The point this was raised on was pretty much on the fact that it does bare some explaining, as it is not readily apparent why it would fit. Ofc its a nitpick really, but I digress.
On the discussion of the multiple afterlives; it is definitively stated in the games that: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The light of Alfheim is the resting place of all non-human creatures i.e. dwarves, elves, giants and animals (hence why Faye is in the light, and why Sindri was able to retrieve Brok from the lake of souls). Helheim is the human realm of the damned, those who do not fall in glorious battle. There is sorting within Hel but the human souls do not ever get to reach the light of Alfheim. Mimir goes to Hel and so do all the ghosts that you help in the various side quests. This is also referenced in the stories of Odin hanging himself on Yggdrasil, in which even he went to Hel in a quest for magical knowledge. In addition, Odin was intrigued by Kratos entering the light of Alfheim, a feat he himself was never able to accomplish due to him being a human god. Finally, Valhalla is the afterlife for human warriors who died in combat, and is where the Einherjar are retrieved from by Odin. Humans can only reach Valhalla if they are deemed worthy and escorted by the Valkyries. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Therefore the existence of the separate afterlives is inconsequential; a soul can only go to one specific place deemed by the world's rules. These rules are most likely ingrained in the "direction" quarter of a soul. In summary: Animals + Non-Humans = Alfheim (i.e. Brok, Faye, Fenrir) Humans = Helheim OR Valhalla (Mimir, Odin, literally everyone else)
9:27:06 Watching this all the way through, it's no wonder people looking to defend something as bad as The Acolyte (for one example) tend to keep bringing up and latching onto insane, non-starter arguments like those being spouted by complete fools like Synthetic Man. Seems like they don't want to engage with criticism that actually makes any real sense. SM is a walking strawman, and one of the most Internet Brain-Rotted "critics" that I've seen on this platform. He should be instantly dismissed by anyone with a functional brain, but it's still good to see people break down *why* his opinions are so stupid.
RFT, have you seen Literature Devil's video on "Can a Heroic character be Racist"? It's a talking point on an abstract concept, but It may be in your alley.
It's funny how so many of Synthetic Man's issues were brought up by Random during his streams...but with Random it was always "this isn't an issue" I hope you also cover the Mauler Supercut, which contains footage from a follow-up video, as well as things from the streams that are...hilarious to say the least
covering the video is one thing, but the streams is a whole other gold mine of content because he wouldnt put himself not realizing he can upgrade Kratos/Atreus into a scripted and edited video yes, Synthetic Man is about as good at games as Dean Takahashi
You know what, I'm gonna go on a limb and defend Atreus' actions by putting the Giant's soul in the snake. I don't think it's Atreus' actions that is the problem, but rather the line he gives when he asks Angroboda, "You didn't have a least-favorite Giant, did you?" As opposed to the myriad of other reasons he could've used to justify what he was about to do, such as having confidence that he was doing the right thing because of the prophecy, or that there was a strong likelihood that the soul he was holding *knew* that he was prophesized to be put into the snake thanks to the giants' knack for glimpsing into the future. Another thing to keep in mind is that prior to putting the soul in the snake, Atreus just saw a mural of his dad dying, and now he's even more motivated to take the initiative in an effort to avert Ragnarok; and now that Kratos isn't around to keep him in check, this is one of several (at the time) mistakes that Atreus makes when he commits to saving the snake in this way. Atreus even recognizes this "mistake" when basically nothing came of it, and he takes appropriate action by insisting that Angroboda hang on to them. Again, the line that he gives is something that completely averts what I would consider to be an in-character action, and had it been changed to something else that would meaningfully justify it, I think it would've been better received.
To add on, I'm surprised how RFT and the rest didn't recognize that this choice was the least messed up for Atreus to make. Them talking about immortality through taking out souls and putting them into new bodies, but that requires taking over the previous resident of that body. They could put them in a criminals body, but then they forever live with the face of some possible infamous maniac. Though a snake isn't the best place, it makes some logical sense to put a soul in the body of a creature whose soul was lost forever. I agree as well that the line should be changed. Comes off as a little uncaring. Perhaps change it to "I don't know why, but I had a dream of doing something like this." Just to tie in back to his ability to see some future events.
Synthetic Man just really wanted the power fantasy. It’s fine to want that because video games are escapism, and sometimes, you just want an experience of being an unstoppable juggernaut. There are times I just want to play Arkham City’s combat challenges and spend an hour or so as Batman beating the shit out of street thugs, stringing together epic combos. The problem is that he’s judging the game as a failure to give him what HE wants, instead of trying to judge how good it’s providing what the game does offer. I can understand people who aren’t interested in very cinematic games-if I want a cinematic experience, I can just watch Netflix, and games are what I use for a different type of engagement. But that doesn’t make the cinematic game bad, and this is hardly a game that puts excessive barriers between the player and engagement. Though there’s certainly other troubling issues with Synthetic Man that come out during his commentary.
Idk if any of you will see this, but I just have to mention it because it irks me that this term was explained incorrectly: Talk-no-jutsu is not a term that was born in current year, it's a very old term that pertains to a trope very prevalent in anime, particularly in the genre of shonen (aimed at teens, always based on heroes journey, often focused on a fighting system and revolving fights as development of plot and characters). The term itself implies replacing a literal battle with talking it out, but in situations that are incongruent with such resolutions. In other words, it is talking your way out of a situation that by all means should have resulted in violent conflict or death. For example, lets say you have a group of people that have been trying to eradicate another for millennia, they are in the middle of a war, but the 15 year old infiltrates their camp, talks to the general one time, and suddenly there's peace. That would be talk-no-jutsu. Of course, like any other term it is sometimes used as a jab for more broader situations where people solve hard conflicts by talking, where it is sometimes justified by the story, but in anime most of them come out of nowhere. It is usually the case that in the genre of shonen, all previous enemies become part of the crew of the heroes, even tough they may have been attempting genocide or planetary destruction for instance. Hence why the term became prevalent. The source of the term itself became popularized in the anime communities during the airing of the show Naruto, where ninjas fought with abilities/techniques, bordering magical spells, called jutsus. Hence the name Talk-no-jutsu, in other words, 'talking technique'. These shows tended to shout the names of the techniques, hence why the name caught on. It predates the shows mentioned, both jujutsu kaisen AND Steven Universe (although this latter one is pretty much the term as an entire show). Its inception is closer to the early 2000s, when Naruto was airing in the west.
That's my bad for having a faulty idea of what the term meant. Thank you so much for being so clear on the correction! It really does mean a lot to me to get constructive feedback on my language so I make less mistakes.
Ragnarok is what really put SM on the map and showed us all that rightwing strawmen do exist, because SM is 1. There were other incidents (Doom Eternal and the Suicide Squad movie), but those were quickly forgotten about because both he and the people who made response videos were really small (at the time). But then when it came to Ragnorok both he and the response Tuber called ZeroNeedsCoffee were both pretty big with SM having 87K subs and ZNC having 27K subs, which resulted in atrcting the attention of a lot more people especially when SM made a response to the ZNC response. SM actually responded 2x to the ZNC response. The 1st was on a livestream and the 2nd was in a video, however on the livestream SM made calls for harresment and then immidiatly walked them back when he realised that he was breaking TOS. ZNC recieved death threats on Twitter, but also gained an insane amount of new subs after he made his response to the SM response, thanks to the EFAP shoutouts, his other videos doing well and the fact that TH-cam started to promote shorts to an insane decree. This not only resulted in ZNC reaching 100K subs before SM, but he was also able to run 9 more laps around him as SM was slowly incing his way to the 100K milestone. From then on a lot more people took notice of SM and everytime he would do something stupid or evil, it would become the talk of the week. DeadSpace Remake, Legend of Zelda: Tears of The Kingdom, Spider-Man 2, The Fallout show, Elden Ring DLC and couple other instances. BTW, ZNC's channel is dead. 1 reason being that he tried to fish for a 16 year old's nudes and the other being that TH-cam stopped promoting shorts. You see, ZNC primaraly became a shorts channel after he made the response video to SM's response video, and because he was making so much views and money he stopped making long-form videos and everytime he dipped back in his channel actually started to hurt real bad. I'm sure that if ZNC never sexted minors and didn't exclusively make shorts then I'm sure that would've become a juggernaught in commentary.
@ManHamOrigins yeah, but I'm confident that he will 1 day get banned. The guy makes calls for violance on his livestreams constantly. Yes he unlist those VODS immediatly after he's done streaming, but he puts those vods in a playlist called livestreams so we need to do is put them on in the background and everytime we hear him make an illegal statement we should timestamp that part of the VOD and send it to TH-cam support. Eventually TH-cam wont be able to ignore what's going on and take action. All though, it would be way more benifitional if SM get's arrested and convicted for inciting violance. If he exclusively get's banned than he'll just move platforms and who knows how more destructive he will become. Getting locked up will sent a message that using your audience as weapon to try to harm people is a big no-no. Unfortunately I'm not American and don't live in the US and so I don't know how to file a police report without entering the country. And don't enough to enter the US, but even if I did have the means and oppertunitiy do that, I don't think that the cops would take me seriously, because I don't live in the US and so it wont effect me if 1 of SM's fans go's and commits violent acts on his behalf. I'm pretty sure that US cops will take priority when Americans have issues that need solving over foreigners having issues that need solving.

The other two guys really make this video hard to watch. Hope this doesn’t become a mainstay format on this channel, or at least not with "Kai" and "Ninja"… oof…
i would've prefered this one with just rando, or like, 1 or 2 guests at most. Having a big group of people who are already familiar with the video and the EFAP episode was not quite what i was looking for
I think this works less as a detailed breakdown and more of a "group of friends shooting the shit and having a nice time". Having a diverse range of experience with the subject and subject matter allowed for a wider range of thought and reaction, but made the discourse more cluttered. Pros and cons.
Combat in the new GoW is arse, and the plot is a very long and convoluted way of saying "You've got to do better, senator". So as a result, instead of being an old man, Kratos acts like an old woman. And he looks like one of those bearded wannabe "manosphere influencers". No idea why you westerners keep defending this obvious downgrade.

From my perspective as a non westerner who is looking from the outside in, it seems like you have been stewing so long in the politically correct soup, that it dissolved your spine and made your shell soft, so now you can be squeezed into any shape.
Not really a happy ending to the story, is it?
ZNC ended up being a creeper, and Synthetic Man gets more popular.
I'm 5 minutes in and I feel like there's no way this video gets monetized 😂
Puar told me about this. He's very disappointed.
Haven't finished this but I'd recommend you watch the EFAP or Mauler's montage for full Tisms.
What a treat! 😊
Hmmm... iteresting video! I have absorbed much information I didn’t know that I didn't know. And my sensitive ears appreciate the censoring very much lol 😂
The other two guys really make this video hard to watch. Hope this doesn’t become a mainstay format on this channel, or at least not with "Kai" and "Ninja"… oof…
Envy outlasts the thoughts of the envied.
Random, only a monster would make people watch this. Love you though.
i would've prefered this one with just rando, or like, 1 or 2 guests at most. Having a big group of people who are already familiar with the video and the EFAP episode was not quite what i was looking for
Random might've killed himself if he didn't have other people to suffer with
I think this works less as a detailed breakdown and more of a "group of friends shooting the shit and having a nice time".
Having a diverse range of experience with the subject and subject matter allowed for a wider range of thought and reaction, but made the discourse more cluttered.
Pros and cons.
@@TheKAIGamesCo i suppose so, i just had something else in mind about how it was going to be tackled , no offense to the guests of course
@@ghoulsome9483 None taken. :)
Hello Synthetic Man! Nice alt account.
Synthetic Brain using alt simp accounts to check up on what people are saying about one of the most condensed collections of his bad takes. Almost glad to see your mother hasn't kicked you out yet, you provide a level of cringe gold that can only be compared to The Room.
@ @heemjefee6889 the fact that I don't agree with your groupthink doesn't mean that I have to belong to the other team.
@@SpaceTalon We actually talk about this in the video, some of us don't even think it's super good or anything and we address it has flaws. Your points, much like Synthetic Man's, are just nonsensical
@ That is your opinion, and you are free to have it. From my perspective as a non westerner who is looking from the outside in, it seems like you have been stewing so long in the politically correct soup, that it dissolved your spine and made your shell soft, so now you can be squeezed into any shape. Seeing it from a distance, there are very few differences between the overall message of the new god of war games and what your propaganda giants like Disney are doing.
Can y’all watch the video for more than 10 seconds before you go on tangents? Also I would have liked Random‘s opinion, the other gentleman… not so much.
We are autism. Tangents are what we do
If you want to see the original video why not go watch the original video?
@@TachizuuI have seen the original video. I personally wanted to hear Random‘s opinion, not whoever these other guys are. Not to mention the discussion devolves to straight up name calling and schoolyard bullying/heckling at points, if Synthetic deserves it or not doesn’t matter to me.
@@akimbofresh8109
It's fine if you wanted something else, but the point of this video was for a bunch of friends to shoot the shit in a call. Getting pissed at the guests for accepting the invite is far closer to schoolyard bullying and heckling than anything we said about ol' Synthy.
That aside, Random did share his opinion plenty and I did my best to give him the space to do so.
Most boring game ever
Explain yourself
I was pretty entertained with how dumb some of the writing decisions were. 😂
Then you really haven’t played that many
