      they need to correct the fact that vikings came to America 400 years before Columbus, yet most descendants are christians.

      Have you ever seen the show? It's quite the parallel to this documentary. Shows like that's aren't meant to be completely accurate. I'd say though it's closer than I thought it was.

    Just did the calculations!
    A gold dinar was a coin of 4.25 grams with a purity of 22k 917 gold. Bjørn and Hastein made off with 70,000 of the suckers which with todays gold price has a worth of 1,719,505.67 USD 😮

      Pretty impressive. Have read how Roman legions regularly marched 50 miles a day! More men of prior centuries were forged of remarkable substance: disciplined, inspired training from early youth and healthier food (no junk). Although... I understand that Russian soldiers of today have maintained most of that formative heritage!

      English today are probably a good mix of saxon, angles, scandinavian and french, the latter one being french with scandinavian heritage (Normandie area).

    If l were in Rollo's shoes i would have never converted to Christianity. Nor would have i sacraficed my fellow country men for any reason. I suspect he had PTSD and early on set dimentia form head injuries sustained in battle.

      Bishop Joscelin is an awesome hero in this story. I think the Viking experience in the 9th and 10th centuries really helped militarize the Church and laid the groundwork for the Crusades. People forget how violent life was in Latin Christendom during those two tumultuous centuries, and the Vikings were the biggest cause of that in France. Often, local authorities were impotent and churchmen had to get involved in the fight. This definitely helped shape the Crusades era, I would say.

      We deserve what we have been given...and only repentance with humble prayer, by many, can/will move the Most Sacred Heart to reverse this merited punishment+.
      Without repentance, the next phase of righteous punishment always is: chastisements (and conquests) by enemy nations/tribes....
