    Everyone, these are great practise videos, but be sure to really: don't push it, the range here is spread very widely and not each note is for everyone (says a voice coach and pro singer), go an octave lower, when it becomes hurtful or check, wether you can loosen up your bodies or decrease volume, sometimes changing the vowel can help, like a falsetto "huuu" for higher notes, change back to the proposed sound, when the range is comfortable, again. Vocal health requires gentleness - there are a lot of videos for this, for example by "Dr. Dan", he gives great advice and is specific and detailed on how to do the exercises. If you are gentle with your voice, these videos here are great. But really remember: don't strain!

    I think I am now understanding the difference between tone and resonance. A tone can have any quality to it. It is just a note on a particular pitch. Resonance is thick our you give that basic tone or note or pitch. It can be very light or dark or heavy or rich or nasal or chesty or well balanced. You need to learn how to use different resonators as you go up or your range of notes or pitches you have. If you try sing your high notes with your chest it won't work and can do vocal damage. If you try to sing low notes using the typical nasal resonance sopranos often use, you simply won't make these low notes. You need to use your chest resonance for these notes. This comes natural to most males but is harder to locate and use for most women, unless you are a rare natural alto with a deep low female voice. Similarly, most males who are not high tenors find singing high notes hard because males typically don't know how to tap i to their head resonance eg by starting g off with plain easy falsetto until they get it. After they find their head voice, it is so easy and comfortable, if they don't don't panic about sounding effeminate or peculiar. What you the so get hear in yourself is not what others hear. This is one of the hardest things to believe and accept about your singing. You this k you sound great but it's crap or you think your singing g is crap and nobody could possibly like it, it it is actually good. There is o Lt one way to know the truth about how good or bad you sound and that is to be brave enough to record yourself. It might give you a pleasant t surprise or a shock. But just take it from there a d try to be better than your last try. Or get a brutally honest opinion ion of how you sound from someone who is not too in d to tell you the hard but honest, fait truth. That vets rid of any delusion s of greatness you may have or excess confidence, or give talented singers with no confidence greater faith in their ability. But, whatever the verdict, you still need to keep trying hard because unless you do, nothing g will improve and you will surely be whatever you were at the outset.

    The more you do it, you understand voice resonators. There is 2 main voice resonators (Nasal cavity and Mouth). They have specific function in correlation with vowels placement. Keep on fellows.

      @miasharratt2198 4 ปีที่แล้ว +19

      siajiale it’s best not to do it super quiet but do it at a medium volume. Doing it softly will develop bad vocal technique (whisper singing, lack of projection and support, bad breath support, overly breathy singing) so its best to face the fear of others hearing you (I know it’s scary) and just practice! You’ll get used to others hearing you, I’ve been there :)

      @@CatandCook1989 part of singing is learning to be comfortable being heard, even when you're singing scales and other things that aren't necessarily "pretty." There's really no way around it. You have to release the fear or you are not going to see improvement. To bridge the gap, try singing in the shower or in the closet for an added layer of privacy.

      ? He has hundreds .most of these people & posts r just passerbys w no intention of doing regular daily practice..just looking for some magic pill that will make them a singer..most of us r just that he's got such an extensive library of free excercises..I do some of his excercises daily..gl & mayb u'll find that holy Grail of excercises

    • @anon2131
      @anon2131 3 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Jacob has many exercises for everything. Once a year I try to do every single exercise in his entire library. It takes me weeks of daily exercises to get through them all just once, for fun. Then I pick the ones I want to focus on and do these religiously, daily over a few weeks, to improve some aspect. I wanted low notes to improve. Jacob gave me my low notes I couldn't do before. By practising his low voice exercises diligently. Best definition of effective teaching? Student can now do what they couldn't do before and Jacob has succeeded in this endeavour. . There are exercises for every aspect of vocal development the serious student may wish to develop skill in controlling. Even without a coach to listen to you singing g and assess or correct your mistakes etc.

    • @miasharratt2198
      @miasharratt2198 4 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Maxime humming is like a “mmm” sound, and the ng sound is like “ring”, they have do different placements. Try using words like “mum” for the humming, and “ring” for the ng sound, and you’ll get it right

    • @anon2131
      @anon2131 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Humming involves lips mainly. Ng involves further back in your mouth to make the sound. Try to feel the lips vibrating for humming and further bag vibrating for ng. Both sounds also use nasal resonance, so you will also feel it in your nose.

      As a beginner ur throat will feel sore if u do vocal exercise more than 30 min.
      What i recommend u is whenever u feel pain or sore in throat that a sign that u need to stop now and need to rest for a recovery. You can practice again after 3-4 hour. The point is focus on doing often not longer

    • @anon2131
      @anon2131 3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      I never knew this and wondered why it was sometimes so hard to start on very low or very high notes or do fast agile passages, even though I had previously done them and how come I needed to sing a few hours before I could start to sound good. Even other musicians noticed that I seemed to only warm up during a show and be ready to really so g when it was too late and it was ending. The warm up was the trick I didn't know, because I had no idea there was any difference between a warm up and an exercise. Singing with a brilliant self taught musician who told me exercises and warm ups are a total waste and to just dive in cold and "just sing", like he " just plays", didn't help. Some do this. He believed that anything you practise in any exercise is bound to appear in the music you sing/play, so it needs no exercise to practise it. Practise the real music, instead. And, if it doesn't come up in the song he some run or notes interval etc, then you ate not going to sing it, ate you? Therefore you don't need it. So why waste time and energy practising what you won't be using in your performing of your song? It made perfectly logical sense when he told me that and I believed him. But, in practical reality, it did not work too well for me. I need to warm up first. And since I have a big range, my voice gets slack and lazy and needs a good long hard was IP work out before it starts to sound OK. Good warm up done properly doesn't hurt the voice once you've built up your vocal muscle enough. I can do warm ups for hours because they feel so easy and good. But eventually you have to stop all this easy fun comfortable warm ups stuff and try the more challenging exercises, if you want to grow better. They don't feel so easy, nice comfortable and it's easy to give up, believing you are crap and will never 'get it'. Don't give up! I tried one difficult bit of a song for years and could not do it, but I kept trying. Then one day it happened suddenly.....Like a kind magic that only repetition could unlock. It was an amazing feeling! Can happen if you never give up hope, no matter what. Magic.
