Absolutely amazing, please keep up the finds and videos. I’m jealous with your finds. I found the pilots calculator so amazing, especially how well preserved it is, they certainly built things to last back in the day and a very good example of German quality. I also find it amazing how the drawing of the plane looks more like a modern plane than one from its era of manufacturing. Much respect and thank you for these brilliant videos.
The finds you make are quite astonishing Dan. I truly admire your scholarship and knowledge of the subjects at hand. I wish more Australians appreciated their modern history in the way you do. Hello!! Great videos!! I love watching all your episodes. I would love to go "hunting" with you one day. I have alway been fascinated with WW2 relics. The pilot's relic you found is a type of "flight computer" in America we call it an E6B. It calculates everything a pilot needs to know while flying. With all the technology we have today, I still have a similar one in my flight bag for emergencies. Great find!!
Great video. Keep them coming. I am an American who was stationed in Vilseck in the 1990s. I found a LOT of interesting things in the Graffenwoehr training area, as well as in Bosnia and Klsovo. Sadly, no video though.

Congrats on finding your old friend Paul. Those pendents always intrigue me when hair is found, very personal item. WW2 has to be the most interesting time in History. Maybe because it wasnt that long ago? Or because some many countries were involved.
You are so right. For me the main reason is that the history regarding ww2 still concerns nearly every family in at least Europe.the US and Asia. If WW2 didn´t happen I would not have been born.

Endlich wieder ein Video :-) Ich muss unsere Stadt auch mal verlassen und weit raus fahren... Aber die Zeit fehlt so oft. Gratuliere zum 5er! Für dih nichts Besonderes Hatte endlich mein erstes 2 Markstück Kaiserreich und 2 Stunden später einen Goldring. Wald kann sich also doch lohnen. War mein erster Waldbesuch - aber in der Nähe zur Zivilisation :-) Machst du noch ein neues Video vor Silvester? Soooo kalt ist es nicht ;-)
No not about landmines they´re all removed by now but what worries me is all that other unexploded ordnance. I recently dug some ww2 german rifle rounds and as usual I just put it in my trash pouch to not to let it stay in the woods. And suddenly my pouch was on fire. It seems I discovered some rare phosphorous rounds and believe it or not those suckers are still very dangerous. I had to discard the pouch and started to run but then I remembered that in that pouch were some other live rifle rounds. So I went back and buried the whole pouch with dirt. It´s still lying there now. All the time I´m detecting I would have said na it´s not dangerous at all - now I have to rethink my approach to live rounds.

@@KlugscheisserDan That's fine glad it was of some help I volunteer for a WW2 aircraft museum last year the team where searching for a Heinkel HE III when one of the team found a fragment of a calculator all there was left was the N for North and under it was 360 I spent days researching it and eventually found that link i look forward to your next video.

The info you gave about the pow dog tag is interesting. I actually had found that the Russians were afraid that any Russian soldiers that were pows may have become westernized and sent them to gulags if they didn't just shoot them. It's great to find out more about the situation and anything about the war to me so thank you. And thanks for the awesome videos

I found a gold 1 missing the center emblem beach combing. in IL USA, it was what started the detecting bug 13-14 yrs ago... great hunt n vid!!!

The triangulation compass looks like.it was bolted into a plane maybe

Yes I certainly did but it´s too big. I tried a modern half ounce gold coin and it fit perfectly.
