- In this video, we're talking about a smart way to plan lessons called "backward design." Learning about this method not only helps you prepare better lessons but also impresses principals during teacher interviews. Using this approach shows you think carefully about teaching, which is something schools really like.

These principals should be glad to have teachers to even interview. Teaching is a grueling job and the exodus is real. I’m looking for an exit plan. Your content is nice though. Thanks!
Teaching is tough, and the challenges can be overwhelming. Taking care of yourself is important. Your skills are valuable, and there are other opportunities where you can make a positive impact.

I agree that teaching is difficult but it’s the most rewarding profession I’ve ever been in. I just finished my 13th year as a teacher. I spent almost a decade in corporate America before I’m going into education. Believe me, you won’t find any more rewarding profession than in education. Perhaps less stress, but not as meaningful. I guess it depends on what you’re looking for.
I attended a teacher's program in the late 90's. We were taught backward design. Always start with the end in mind. When did colleges stop teaching this method and why? I'm glad you are bringing this back with a great execution plan. ❤❤❤
It's wonderful to hear you found value in the backward design approach! Thank you for watching our videos! 🙂

Can the assessments change?
Assessments can and often should change as part of the backward design process. In backward design, assessments are aligned with the learning objectives and are designed to measure how well students have achieved those objectives.
