They last well. Mine is ancient. An older design than yours. The outer is windproof which makes it surprisingly warm for its loft. Easy to wash in a machine. Only wets through where stitched so dries rapidly. Makes a good overblanket to combine with a shoulder season bag on those nights of real cold.
@thedaftestnameicouldthinko8233 on some of my bits esp the very old stuff it's literally the MLD label logo thing which has worn away and the actual kit still in good condition. The only real casualty is my cuben stuff sacks which are ten years old and the laminate had disintegrated on parts of them but they still hold things lol 😆
Hi Tony. Can I ask a question, please? I'd like to use this on top of a down sleeping bag, to move the moisture away from it, and for extra warmth. I am not sure if the zipped-up Spirit Quilt footbox will fit around my down sleeping bag's footbox without squashing it (I checked the measurements, but the quilt's footbox is smaller than my down bag's footbox, even in the XL quilt size). So I wanted to ask, when the footbox of the Spirit Quilt is totally unzipped and the entire quilt is laid out flat, are there any attachment points (small loops) near the footbox for an extra cord? Or is there only the sole strap in the middle of the quilt, and no further attachment points for adding cords to use the footbox fully open and unzipped, but still be able to strap it beneath a sleeping pad?
There are two loops at foot end Two clip points mid way Two loops on head end So in theory yes Does the foot end of sleeping bag need fully covering ie around bottom of bag too or is over top completely OK ie so downbag exposed on flat of foot at bottom? I'm curious by all this too BTW 😀
@@TonyHobbs Good point. And useful to know it has the loops. I could attach a cord to the foot and then loop it beneath the sleeping pad, so the whole of the sleeping bag is covered by the quilt, but not wrapped / zipped up around the footbox and affecting the loft of the down.
Very good advice about sizing up for side sleepers. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻
Haha thank you I try ☺️
Nice quilt Tony. Looking forward to getting mine 😁
You will like it very light for synthetic. And cosy. Quite minimalistic. Let me know what you think.

Is yours the velcro version? I have the older 48 with that it's a bit annoying I'm glad now zip
Yes they are nice
@@TonyHobbs Press studs. The only obvious damage is to the MLD label, which has disintegrated.

What size warmth etc is your down sleeping bag?

@@TonyHobbs Long (200cm) 24F / -5C, Western Mountaineering Sycamore MF. Quite lofty and also sized a bit wider (not mummy shaped)

I've a vid so you cam see that once it's released. It worked really well. You may want large vs medium I have.
-2C, not -5C.
My mistake there yes exactly correct minus 2.22c thank you 😊
