Alex already said that they are considering what you are suggesting in the latest webinar for series 6! He basically said that designers that were already picked could win once a year. Let s see how they will handle the matter. I think that is a fair way to do it!

Because I’m new to brinklink…. I missed out on all the past series. And the three sets in series 5 that are from previous winners, those three are the reason I’ve gone down this rabbit hole learning about bricklink. I’m glad these three sets will be available to me…. As I said, I didn’t know about this program, and missed out on their other creations. ❤. There really are soooo many awesome sets being entered. Wish more could be chosen!!
I am ok with you about the winner should hold in a cooldown of 2 series, but this sets are just better than the other offered in serie 5, they absolutely are and that is why they won. Transylvania i think it was the hidden card sleepless night had, he won season 1 he got in season 4 because upper sets got banned by lego and after that he went with the best he got to give himself a 3rd win, i dont think he calculated the win in serie 4 but this one was for sure calculated, many votes went to transylvania becayse the well received castle from serie 1, good quality and a good understanding of the niche needed (wich it was a good falcon knight castle) very distintive and with playability. Transylvania is also filling a niche, wich it is a gothic castle that lego never has done. And because of the well structured the serie 1 castle is, people trust in sleepless to do a good castle again, he just got himself the good reputation with the first castle. Mushroom it is basically a set for kids, and what it is better than a lego fan with kids, he obviously knew where the niche is too. Tortuga was a surprise, but the thing is the set is something that not even lego has created and it is needed.
I mean I agree with you, these sets are fantastic and definitely at the top. I'm just saying overall some series might have some that are just as good but aren't selected. Then these wins are given to people who already have a win. The mushroom set is getting an expansion, after only 3 series. A cool-down period is the best way to avoid having it all carryover. Would it win in a year? Most likely, but it gives other builders a chance to have their sets made.

Completely agree. I'm glad you found out about the program! I hope that they take a hard look at increasing the selections someday down the road.

I have bricklink designer sets from before 2021 it started before Lego acquired bricklink
