I think the one thing I struggle with is putting together a basic holiday wardrobe that will work for all the events we get invited to this time of year. Sometimes, the things the stores consider "holiday" might be a bit much for going to a friend's home, or a church event. I would like something more timeless that I could mix and match and always feel appropriate for the holiday season.

For olive, try red. I did this one time years ago with a simple matching olive blouse and skirt. I put a simple red belt with it, about 2" wide, and it rocked. I got many compliments and smiles. It was a clear, true red like this heart ❤. Not burgundy, not fuschia. I'm not a stylist- it was just a hunch ☺ You could try a bag or shoes or jewelry, of course.

Hi Serena........ To answer you question first, I love learning about tips and tricks for petites. I am a hourglass to pear shape body type and always love those kind of videos, earrings styles for petites.......which use to be big to make a petite ladies face pop....that is probably long gone now - I do vertical ones alot....seasons discussed, whether the big wide cuff is a no no or a double yes for us.....anything. I do wish we had more petite stores as I loved your bomber jacket and wanted to order but from what you said I know it won't fit. I tried J crew factory jeans in the store since they accidently had a skinny jean in 2p. I got a cropped length in black so we will see if the 2P works there in the cropped flare. They ordered of course. The stitch gun is awesome for quick emergencies and tackling those too low tops with out wearing a cami. I bought one. Amazon has them. I do love hairstyling discussions on topics too. You have to change your hair if you want to stay current and the newest greatest thing except no hair I am open to. I am a color person and enjoy makeup . Any discussion about that is perfect too .......as my age group beiges out so color is important to add back to the face and eyebrows most important. Regardless of what you think, you look amazing in that nude dress! I think the fact that the waist is a little lower actually gives you good proportions, not making you look short-waisted. As far as content goes, I'm all about fashion these days, not so much beauty, lifestyle, home, etc.
Like others have said, you still look wonderful in the khaki dress even with it being a size too big. Love that your videos included items in different price ranges. I love Nordstrom and Quince, but also love a good deal at Walmart and Amazon.
I would like to see holiday outfits. I also would like to see more jeans and tops, sweaters, shoes, bags, in other words, more casual outfits. Not sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. Things to wear on a daily basis for running errands and looking put together at the grocery store, ha ha!

Serena you are wrong about that nude colored dress. It does not wash you out. That color is low contrast against your skin but it really makes your face light up. If you changed your lip and eye color with that dress, you would be perfect. I love that on you. Also, I get frustrated with Walmart and Amazon videos promoting their clothes but after a first wear or first wash the fabrics pill and/or shed terribly or pick up lint. I would love to see some videos where you re-evaluate some of your items after your own wash and wear experiences. Some of the Amazon items turn out to feel like heavily weighted fake fabric when put on, which make the items uncomfortable to wear. Videos helping the rest of us judge the value of the purchase after worn and washed could be very helpful. I do not put anything in a clothes dryer because heat destroys synthetic fibers.
I’m with you, most of the clothes I have purchased from Amazon have been junk. What I’ve discovered is to pay attention look at the fabric content. Rayon isn’t a strong fiber, it will pill, twist out of shape, and even develop small holes. I’m on a mission to ensure the garments I buy are never 100% rayon and any blend has the highest percentage of a strong fiber like cotton or linen. If I wasn’t allergic to wool, I’d be looking for that too as a strong fiber.
Hi Serena I liked your work out tips video. The holidays can be stressful for some. How about some looks for less, some skin pampering ideas and some kind of challenge to lose a couple pounds before we start going to parties and eating cookies. Or just slimming tricks to help us look our best. Also maybe taking some things that you thought were a fail and turn them into a great look after all. I think a lot of us bought something that we thought was cute and it’s still hanging in the closet with the tags on.
For a future video: how about an emphasis on developing a minimalist wardrobe and the pieces that could play into that (a la Project 333, for example)?

The bag in outfit 1 would be great if the cut edges of pleather were not black, which is a dead faux leather giveaway. I am searching for one that has finished edges. I understand that this would be helpful. However, I am not a TV show. I am a one-woman show! Where am I supposed to find these models? How would I pay them? If not models, should I ask my friends? Most people don't want to be on TH-cam or they probably would be already. And can you imagine me asking my friends "hey, I need a plus size body type for one of my videos, would you be my model?". I might not have that friend for long! Same with making someone over. Should I tell a friend she dresses bad and ask if I could make her over AND film it for the world to see? I can't imagine I'd have a lot of takers!

Serena I am in the process of losing weight. Some outfit ideas to wear during this process would be helpful. I have dropped several sizes and do not want to invest in many clothes until I reach my goal weight. Any suggestions on outfit ideas that would help during this process would be great. I want to still look stylish during this process.
I had weight loss surgery last year. Serena and her great styling tips helped me get used to dressing in non-plus size clothing. Shirt dresses (or any loose fit dress or shirt) with a stretchy belt is a great quick hack to pull an outfit together

This is nothing new. Amazon has been selling clothes for a long time. But these prices are only good through today while Prime Big Deal Days is going on. And of course you have to be a Prime member.
I would love a video on tricks for getting a better fit when ordering clothing online. It seems that using the size guide is not always that helpful especially when I measure a small in the hips and a medium in the stomach, for example. Being a petite makes it even more challenging. It seems like lately more items are getting returned than I am able to keep due to not knowing what works best with my body.
I don't think there are tricks for that. You have to buy clothing based on the largest measurement and have the rest taken in. That is unless you buy stretchy everything.
I live in the south. As you know we have mild winters. I'm very hot natured. The fall and winter cloths at most stores are too hot for me to wear. Can you do a video on clothing that have lighter weight material for fall and winter. This would include sweaters and coats
I'm with you! Unless it's VERY cold, I overheat in thick sweaters, turtlenecks, etc. The secret is thinner pieces and layering. I will address this in a future video!
I really liked that cream color dress on you. It looked classy; retro inspired (Chanel-ish). Perhaps if you added a pretty neck scarf it would look more acceptable to you. (Smaller size dress, too, if you are more comfortable in the smaller size). As far as content, I'd like to see some scarf inspired items 🙂

I was wondering if you know of any blouses that have a collar & cuffs but are not button downs? I want some collared blouses/shirts to wear under v neck sweaters & sweater vests but I have to size up so much to accomodate my bust the shirt won't fit thru the shoulders which isn't an easy tailoring fix. I don't even know how to search for such a blouse(not a polo but similar with long sleeves that have a finished cuff)

TY Serena for asking what kind of videos we'd like to see. I have a request, but it may be an impossible one, so if it is, then, just never mind me. I'm not rich, I never have been. Buying the latest fashions is not something I've ever been afforded to do. But my brother has gifted me with birthday money, quite a bit, and he told me to buy things I like and not what I need. Since I'm not experienced at it, I've made a lot of mistakes. Two of them being dresses....on the model, the dresses were right above the knee. On me they are mid thigh...(eyeroll)...I know, too short for my comfort. But here I am, and washing made them worse. I realize now that my legs are long and my waist is long causing me a great deal of problems wearing some of these fashions. Is there any way I can save these dresses, or should I just consider it a costly mistake? One dress is like a shirt dress, the other is like a high waisted shift dress,. I bought some knee high boots that I really like, to get more leg coverage...but what if I buy a long cardigan, longer than the dresses, with buttons, and wear it buttoned down on the lower half to get more leg coverage? I don't think my legs are ugly....except for a few veins from pregnancy, but stockings will cover that up, oh, what about thick tights? Would it look stupid? The weather is getting much cooler so maybe I can pull this off. IDK, Maybe I should give the dresses to the thrift store. I don't want to look stupid. I don't want to waste my birthday money on items that I may never use on dresses that I may just give away....perhaps I'll just stick to buying jeans and flannel shirts from now on lol! It's what I know. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Are you very tall? Most models you see in websites are around 5'10" so if the dresses are shorter on you than the models you must be very tall. I would wear tights & knee boots with the dresses. Not longer cardigans. If they are still shorter than your comfort, donate them & move on. Don't let them hang in your closet & remind you of a mistake. My question is....if they were shorter than you liked when you received them, why didn't you just return them & get your money back? 🤔

Regardless of what you think, you look amazing in that nude dress! I think the fact that the waist is a little lower actually gives you good proportions, not making you look short-waisted. As far as content goes, I'm all about fashion these days, not so much beauty, lifestyle, home, etc.
Like others have said, you still look wonderful in the khaki dress even with it being a size too big. Love that your videos included items in different price ranges. I love Nordstrom and Quince, but also love a good deal at Walmart and Amazon.

I would like to see holiday outfits. I also would like to see more jeans and tops, sweaters, shoes, bags, in other words, more casual outfits. Not sweatshirts, sweatpants, etc. Things to wear on a daily basis for running errands and looking put together at the grocery store, ha ha!

Serena you are wrong about that nude colored dress. It does not wash you out. That color is low contrast against your skin but it really makes your face light up. If you changed your lip and eye color with that dress, you would be perfect. I love that on you. Also, I get frustrated with Walmart and Amazon videos promoting their clothes but after a first wear or first wash the fabrics pill and/or shed terribly or pick up lint. I would love to see some videos where you re-evaluate some of your items after your own wash and wear experiences. Some of the Amazon items turn out to feel like heavily weighted fake fabric when put on, which make the items uncomfortable to wear. Videos helping the rest of us judge the value of the purchase after worn and washed could be very helpful. I do not put anything in a clothes dryer because heat destroys synthetic fibers.
I’m with you, most of the clothes I have purchased from Amazon have been junk. What I’ve discovered is to pay attention look at the fabric content. Rayon isn’t a strong fiber, it will pill, twist out of shape, and even develop small holes. I’m on a mission to ensure the garments I buy are never 100% rayon and any blend has the highest percentage of a strong fiber like cotton or linen. If I wasn’t allergic to wool, I’d be looking for that too as a strong fiber.

Hi Serena I liked your work out tips video. The holidays can be stressful for some. How about some looks for less, some skin pampering ideas and some kind of challenge to lose a couple pounds before we start going to parties and eating cookies. Or just slimming tricks to help us look our best. Also maybe taking some things that you thought were a fail and turn them into a great look after all. I think a lot of us bought something that we thought was cute and it’s still hanging in the closet with the tags on.
I would love to see some gift guides…I always struggle with gifts for the guys in my life 😂

Serena, I would like some advice about a capsule type wardrobe for traveling to South America on a 22-day cruise with city stays on both ends. This entails several climates from hot and steamy to the Antarctic. I’m on the struggle bus with this. We will have an opportunity to do some laundry, but who wants to do that on vacation?

I understand that this would be helpful. However, I am not a TV show. I am a one-woman show! Where am I supposed to find these models? How would I pay them? If not models, should I ask my friends? Most people don't want to be on TH-cam or they probably would be already. And can you imagine me asking my friends "hey, I need a plus size body type for one of my videos, would you be my model?". I might not have that friend for long! Same with making someone over. Should I tell a friend she dresses bad and ask if I could make her over AND film it for the world to see? I can't imagine I'd have a lot of takers!

Serena I am in the process of losing weight. Some outfit ideas to wear during this process would be helpful. I have dropped several sizes and do not want to invest in many clothes until I reach my goal weight. Any suggestions on outfit ideas that would help during this process would be great. I want to still look stylish during this process.
I had weight loss surgery last year. Serena and her great styling tips helped me get used to dressing in non-plus size clothing. Shirt dresses (or any loose fit dress or shirt) with a stretchy belt is a great quick hack to pull an outfit together

I would love a video on tricks for getting a better fit when ordering clothing online. It seems that using the size guide is not always that helpful especially when I measure a small in the hips and a medium in the stomach, for example. Being a petite makes it even more challenging. It seems like lately more items are getting returned than I am able to keep due to not knowing what works best with my body.
I don't think there are tricks for that. You have to buy clothing based on the largest measurement and have the rest taken in. That is unless you buy stretchy everything.
I live in the south. As you know we have mild winters. I'm very hot natured. The fall and winter cloths at most stores are too hot for me to wear. Can you do a video on clothing that have lighter weight material for fall and winter. This would include sweaters and coats
I'm with you! Unless it's VERY cold, I overheat in thick sweaters, turtlenecks, etc. The secret is thinner pieces and layering. I will address this in a future video!

I was wondering if you know of any blouses that have a collar & cuffs but are not button downs? I want some collared blouses/shirts to wear under v neck sweaters & sweater vests but I have to size up so much to accomodate my bust the shirt won't fit thru the shoulders which isn't an easy tailoring fix. I don't even know how to search for such a blouse(not a polo but similar with long sleeves that have a finished cuff)
My first suggestion is search for "blouse", not shirt. There are lots of blouses that have collars & cuffs that aren't button-downs.

TY Serena for asking what kind of videos we'd like to see. I have a request, but it may be an impossible one, so if it is, then, just never mind me. I'm not rich, I never have been. Buying the latest fashions is not something I've ever been afforded to do. But my brother has gifted me with birthday money, quite a bit, and he told me to buy things I like and not what I need. Since I'm not experienced at it, I've made a lot of mistakes. Two of them being dresses....on the model, the dresses were right above the knee. On me they are mid thigh...(eyeroll)...I know, too short for my comfort. But here I am, and washing made them worse. I realize now that my legs are long and my waist is long causing me a great deal of problems wearing some of these fashions. Is there any way I can save these dresses, or should I just consider it a costly mistake? One dress is like a shirt dress, the other is like a high waisted shift dress,. I bought some knee high boots that I really like, to get more leg coverage...but what if I buy a long cardigan, longer than the dresses, with buttons, and wear it buttoned down on the lower half to get more leg coverage? I don't think my legs are ugly....except for a few veins from pregnancy, but stockings will cover that up, oh, what about thick tights? Would it look stupid? The weather is getting much cooler so maybe I can pull this off. IDK, Maybe I should give the dresses to the thrift store. I don't want to look stupid. I don't want to waste my birthday money on items that I may never use on dresses that I may just give away....perhaps I'll just stick to buying jeans and flannel shirts from now on lol! It's what I know. Your advice would be greatly appreciated.
Are you very tall? Most models you see in websites are around 5'10" so if the dresses are shorter on you than the models you must be very tall.
I would wear tights & knee boots with the dresses. Not longer cardigans. If they are still shorter than your comfort, donate them & move on. Don't let them hang in your closet & remind you of a mistake.
My question is....if they were shorter than you liked when you received them, why didn't you just return them & get your money back? 🤔

I have Prime and I wanted the color you have. I have been watching it. Other colors didn’t appeal. Tried Apricot and the other darker beige. What is strange is if I click on lightening deals for short sleeve lady jackets it comes up $25.98 but when I put in my cart it shows $39😢
