The main mast i used shaft collers so they could be welded and the shaft could still be removed. Also the 2 pieces of metal welded together is a design flaw. Use a 3x2 across it instead. When you have a wild shuttle driver with the rack full on a bumpy road it bends...... i keep meaning to make an updated video on that portion alone.
Love the rack. I want to build something just like this. Thanks for all the measurements.
Thank you! Happy to see it being helpful! I build a 1 of a kind rack i will be doing a video on one day soon. Made it for a VW Golf!
Awesome rack, i’d love to build something similar in the future. Right now the most bikes I can haul all the time is three..
Thank you! It has been fun building them and learning! Most ppl cant haul but 3 or 4 bikes at a time. 6 is for the shuttle days!
Super cool rack!
thank you so much. I'm doing something similar soon this is a great reference
I have a video coming out very soon of a complete build. Basicly step by step.
nice!
I have a new video coming out soon that shows some changes i made. Makes it stronger and lighter.
one question, does the shaft run freely through the main mast or is it welded?
