hahaha That is why I am building a reversed bird cage on top of my aquaponics growbeds so that I can enjoy some strawberries before the birds eat them. I am using some standard hardware store 20mm or 4/5 of an inch aluminum profile and I rivet it together nice and square. Pretty basic and lightweight, but good and strong enough to keep the birds out. People also use the same materials to build aviaries in order to keep their birds in. And I cover it with wire mesh that has the green plastic coating. The view that you have is spectacular. 👍

"A better all around fruit for the birds." You had me cracking g up. 😂

I am all on board with thinning out the fruit! Last year, my friend told me I could pick all the apples I wanted off of her dwarf tree. She hadn't done that at all! They were not only knobby and impossible to peel, they were rotting where they touched. This was a sister in Christ, and it confirmed to me once more that if you give something to someone, it should be your best, not what you don’t want. Anyway, I was reading the Law in Leviticus or Numbers where it said how to handle a new fruit tree. The grower was to gather fruit the FIFTH year, the 4th year it was to go to the Lord. It reminded me that we must trust the Lord!

Beautiful words Sister. I also go by Father's Instructions with my trees and fruit. I won't eat until the 5th year, and I will give the 4th year to Him. I also allow others to get first fruits.
1 John 5:3. What a blessing to follow our Creator and His Ways. They are not burdensome, but a blessing. Father knew allowing fruit from year 4 onward would be best and healthiest for the tree. What wisdom.
