I am the one that converted this car. I only did it to see if I could. It gets about 30 miles to a charge because I am using lead acid batteries. It also get up to 55 mph. I built it for local shows and never expected to get it to Sema. In fact It was only there to show the Covercraft products that they made for a mustang it was also a 1965 which they wanted for the use of the fiftieth logo. It turned out that I was mobed with questions before I even got it in the building, and it continued till the show ended. Because of the popularity I am now in the process of upgrading to Lithium Batteries and a new motor Which will get me around a 100 mile range and I will have no problem burning the tires. If someone would like to help and sponsor the project I will gladly give them as much free advertising and exposure as I can. I already have offers to show the car at Sema next year and a lot of interest by magazines. The car will be at the Motor Trend auto show this weekend in Las Vegas. As the president of the Las Vegas Mustang and Classic Ford club I get a lot of opportunities to show the car. Since I built this on my own dime and didn't know much about it I think I did a good job and I am learning a lot. I am also a member of the Electric vehicle association so all you sceptics just wait and see what I do from here!!!!

+Larry Gareffa It's very impressive considering you did it all yourself.

To each their own, I think he may have hurt the performance of the car but he made a very unique vehicle that could easily be converted back to gas if needed.

Needs lithium batteries and a bigger motor.

Cool Idea, but he should have used better electric components. 30ish mph for 2 minutes?! lol that's sad.
He needs to borrow some tech from Tesla

+noldevin True he won't be breaking any speed records with it, but a 65 Mustang isn't exactly the friendliest car when come to an effective conversion like this. To make it truly a well performing electric car you would need to do quite a bit of customization to the body to do it.

@@wesg1 Zombie222 is based on a 68 Mustang. But using masive twin DC Motors & 40kwh of dense Lithium Ion Cylindrical cells. That thing is kicking out 800hp & 1200lb/ft. Hit 174mph in the Texas Mile run. Does a 1/4 Mile in 10.2 sec. Sure the 1st gen body aint the best for going fast, but BEV power overkill makes it fast enough.
