I’m all for these coaches interviews. We’ve had a lot of players perspective in the last few years, throwing in coaches and staff members really help see the game from a different angle as fans
I don't wanna hear from "staff members" though. Head coaches is enough...if they start interviewing random employees of NBA teams I'm gonna unsubscribe 😉
Yeah, you can really tell the reps make him more and more comfortable. Really insightful stuff. And as a Knicks fan I've always loved Q, just a stand-up dude.
Shoutout to Stan for how he talked about everyone in this, including Miami, Pat and Spo... Dude holds no grudges and just bleeds basketball, his love for the game is unquestionable.
Dwight knows. One of the reasons he's been ripped apart by media is because he doesn't care about the media. People can think what they want. Dwight's going to do him and have a great time doing it. People are ripping him right now for not playing in the NBA. He looks like he's having the best time ever over there. Dwight and Stan are fine. It's us media consumers I'm worried about.
Everytime i hear the “yo yo yo we live on location!” I know the episode is gonna be awesome. This is one of the best sports podcasts out there. Keep up the great work knuckleheads! 🤜🏽🤛🏽🏀
I just want to thank you for having Stan on. To give him a platform and hear him speak about basketball and his experiences was great. He came off as a genuine person who cares about the game and people. If I owned a team I'd want the Van Gundy Brothers to run it.
Could listen to Stan talk about basketball and the NBA for hours... He can nerd out on the sport like few can, you can just tell his love for the game is immense.
More coach interviews please! Stan might be the most polarizing coach ever, but the man knows his basketball! DMiles really shined in this episode as well.
THIS is the best episode of Knuckleheads. The best part of this podcast is when people who are knowledgeable about basketball just brag on other basketball people, whether they be big names or not. You can tell that Coach Van Gundy has loved his life in basketball as well; that kind of thing tends to shine through. You can hear the big smile on his face when talking about the good times and the bad.
Ooooooo....Gerald Wallace was low key cold for his time but can do a lot 💯💪🏾...he can score enough and play enough defense but I am a fan of his defense primarily but he was cold overall!
One thing about Stan is that he has always shown respect to all his former players, even ones that might've not spoken highly of him. And Stan was a really good coach. Turned the Magic into a perennial 50 win team, even brought the pistons back to the playoffs for the first time post the billups/wallace/hamilton era.
I didn’t know how much i needed this SVG convo but ive been over here smiling ear to ear this whole video..really adds a different dimension since we’ve been hearing Qs stories of coach this whole time and now to hear it straight from the source👌🏾.. oh and btw, we NEED THAT JEFF VAN GUNDY conversation next!! I can only imagine how funny that would be
Stan knows. Give Jameer some love! Glad to see he's not forgotten. One of the most underrated players I've known. He was exactly what Orlando needed on offense, and he was good at it.
Awesome episode, you keep reaching new heights from an already high ceiling, bravo!! You've brought Stan, I’d say that interviewing Jeff is a must do to close this circle, isn’t it?! If I may, PLEASE bring Spoelstra, he’d have a lot to share. Cheers!
Ever since Van Gundy became a a media personality and I’ve gotten to hear him call games I really enjoy him. Insightful and I find he has a good sense of humor
Stan Van Gundy is spittin' jewels on Knuckleheads. For an old school guy he's super cool it seems. Dwight Howard should have been named Top 75 Greatest Players in NBA History.
The Coach was on his game. Mr Miles asked some tough questions and help bring out great answers by an NBA Coach. This was an Excellent Show. We need more Coaches in these shows. Good job!
Great interview, great insight! I love the way coach gave EVERYONE their props. I wish more coaches/players would speak more against negative media narratives during their playing/coaching days, so we don’t believe or assume for years that what the media says is the TRUTH and assume a guy is a bum or hard to coach for example. Thank God for these podcasts from the people who played and coached the game -very refreshing!
I'm only 10min in but great great interview so far... Stan my man you doing good man. Yo and your brother always remind me of Click N Clack brothers outta Boston I believe.
Stan is one of the best coaches ever, lol still remember that old video of him demonstrating his solid handle, so good had to link the vid below for y’all 😂😂 th-cam.com/video/21cE2aUbWB0/w-d-xo.html

I completely agree. I feel like I know what most players are gonna say, but coaches are different
Bot subscriber and likes 🤔
Let’s give props to D Miles for the great questions 🔥
When knuckleheads started you can tell he was shaky but now dude is a natural
@@1yungez yeah after the 1st question he fell off bad but he’s improved a lot throughout the years
@@1yungez Miles ahead of Stephen Jackson in this field. So professional, doesn't have to try or pretend with some tough guy persona.
He’s great at interviewing
DMiles gets crisper with his insight and questions in each episode. It is clear he is putting in the work to become a great interviewer. Huge fan!
Yeah, you can really tell the reps make him more and more comfortable. Really insightful stuff. And as a Knicks fan I've always loved Q, just a stand-up dude.
@@leopoldvonwinterfeld5801 Indeed.
He really is!! He can get into two or three layer questions deep and bring it back together.
I was just thinking the same. Maybe he has an eye for coaching
💯
LETS GET MONTA ELLIS AND DIRK NOWITZKI ON THIS YEAR 💯
Edit: wow didn’t expect so many to agree. Hope d miles and q see this

Monta would be dope. straight killer, bucket getter, under appreciated
Monta was my favorite player to watch besides Kobe‼️

Should’ve gave Dwight his flowers for imitating him
Right
Shoutout to Stan for how he talked about everyone in this, including Miami, Pat and Spo... Dude holds no grudges and just bleeds basketball, his love for the game is unquestionable.
4:48 Stan hit ‘em with the “you know what I’m talm bout’ lmfaoo ok Stan 💯
Knew he was on a different typa time after 4:04 😂🔥
You peeped that too lol
I really hope Dwight sees this episode/clip. Stan was a real one for the way he gave Dwight his folowers

This show is way better than all the smoke !
You late
Why we gotta tear others down to compliment someone else? 🤦🏽♂️
@@scandelez Thank you for pointing that out. I feel the same. We can have preferences as individuals but broad stroke statements aren’t helpful .

Q’s Elmo laugh always brings a deep smile out of me.
This dude gave praise to pretty much everyone who ever played or coached basketball besides himself, so much respect for the game.
How do these keep getting better every time.
Props to D. Miles for improving his interviewing skills, he has put in the work!
Been wanting a Stan Van interview for a long time. Hearing a lot players speak on him and how amazing his mind is but how wild he could be.
This really turned out to be one of my favorite episodes great job
It’s SVG of course it was
This is my personal favorite basketball podcast.
This was a good one. Glad to hear the things he said about Dwight.
Special request: Gerald Wallace
Ooooooo....Gerald Wallace was low key cold for his time but can do a lot 💯💪🏾...he can score enough and play enough defense but I am a fan of his defense primarily but he was cold overall!
Wallace must have a lot of great stories for all the greats he played for and against
Great call
U true basketball head like myself! That's a very random name but it shows u on point n I'd also like to see it
G Wallace gave me his wrist band when I was a kid. Will never forget that💪
Awesome, love an accomplished coach speaking candidly.
I love how they adapted the question to Stan
Appreciate y'all for having Stan on your pod!! This dude super smart, not just about basketball, but about life too. He genuinely knows his stuff 👍🏼
Love that Stan goes and references previous episodes of Knuckleheads. That’s amazing
Man y’all gotta find Travis Best. I wanna hear some of those old Pacer stories!
YES YES YES YES!!!! They did it with this one we need more coaches.
Man them weeks between drops feel like years😂😂💯
On God!
I swear!!!!
Interesting change from players to having Stan on the 'pod.
getting a coach on this is so cool fr, we need more people to popularise basketball minds
Good job again. I couldnt stop listening and watching this episode. Many of us are still waiting if you guys are really going to Turkey this year

Ya he surprised me
I was so happy when the Nuggets got Jameer. Sad that it was during the Nuggs dark years, but Jameer was always one of my favorite PGs.
This was such a good interview. Stan is a class act. All for more interviews with NBA Coaches.
I love it when anyone on this podcast just says “Listen” wether the hosts or guest!! Always gold

Great interview, Stan Van Gundy was a great coach, but more than that he seems like he's a just GREAT guy!!!
Coach is so happy, both for the guys & to be on the pod lol that's dope...keep shining, fellas

Will they talk like Stan did or will they give a real interview?
The way SVG spoke of Spo was really great man and Spo deserves that and more coming from where he began
Love the story of UD and DWade always partnering up.

Phenomenal interview. Stan was very insightful and D Miles was serving up some great questions. 🔥 episode
SVG: “i didn’t think he was bustin’ on me but”
