Great video! I’m playing R/A also and went 36/6 from wood-gold. most matches are pretty grindy but still having a blast and love the control of R/A and trading up with mauis hook is always fun
First off thanks for making this video as it confirmed the way I have my current build. I like Ruby/AM in this meta with all the options and it feels like the control deck from the first set where you really have to think about your resources and removal. Until recently I have been using my rabbits and you 100% correct that it's the draw engine for the deck and so important in the mirror and control matchups. In my list I don't play Jim because in the mirror if your opponent Maui's your location then you paid 5 ink for a 4/4 and lose a lot of tempo. I do play 3 medusa as the removal is too good. I did need to add 2 dragon fires to remove other annoying characters like Tink in the mid game. I also run 2 Pinocchio's as I think it's enough. I only run 3 locations as I feel it's more of a win more card. I also run 4 Kuzco as a backup draw engine as I feel it's great in the early game and not too bad in the late game for the draw and lore. I'll also be looking forward to your in-depth video of this deck as well.
But if you’re gonna play a location anyway…. Then Jim is better. Maui can out the location wether it’s played by itself or with Jim so I’m not seeing how that would delay tempo.
@@KrisPBaconnn I would advise that you learn more about tempo as it's crucial to understand this if you want to play at competitive levels. This applies to all card games.
Your list is actually more tuned than mine was. I agree with 2 Pinnochio and 3 Medusa. Jim and Locations in the mirror are not so great, and as you saw from this match, the Location basically serves as lore pressure rather than card draw because it's hard to maintain when both players know to preserve Maui/Mim Fox + Hook to out it.
It ain't just the mirror. I just won my first event and every match I had was ruby amethyst. I played sapphire steel. A small alteration to the sapphire steel that won the big event last week.
3:41 okay, so you keep saying "they didn't bounce Medusa back which is good...." But, you had a Pinocchio to exert the medusa to rush into with Maui. That's what I would've done. Would that not be a good idea?

Just curious here, what did you change?
What are your thoughts on this decks in a mirror against the more aggro focused locations version using RLS?
If you’re using RLS in the mirror you will be favoured to lose.

There was a benefit not over-extending with the second Pinnochio, saving it for something more significant later on.
