We always wash our greens. I’m going to save this video and use it for thanksgiving. Ooo that looks all delicious and I bet it smells amazing.

Thank you, Kitty. I would like to have put some hog jowl, salt pork, ham bone, or ham in there. The greens tasted good plain, but the other things would have been super.

Another delicious meal, my father did not like greens so mama rarely made them. I love them. ❤

I’m a fan of all greens. I love them mixed, too. The washing process is a job. I cheat and add a small can of smoked hormel ham after they’re all cooked, but I’d enjoy it without ham, too. Everything looks so delicious! I hope your tummy was ok. ❤😊

Hey Donna, I'll eat greens anyway they're prepared. The meal went down great, with no troubles, and I'm grateful for that. Thank you.

I've never eaten any of those greens, at least not intentionally that I'm aware of. I like the amount of effort you're willing to put into a vegetable. 😁 I did make cornbread last Friday though. Born in Indiana, grew up in Arizona, lived the last about 26 years in New York (state not city) currently in the Finger Lakes/Southern Tier Region.

Thank you, @Kg05117, for coming back for a visit. Eating greens is very common in the South. I know that collard greens have been presented to the rest of the states in the last few years. Another "green" here is Poke Salad. I did do a video about it. I've also eaten radish greens. I'm sure you have foods that I've never eaten. Would love to know about them. Of course, Julia Child brought French cooking to America, and the Food Network has brought us all kinds of food. I had the pleasure of driving through part of New York on a trip to New England. We were in Troy, NY. I was looking for a gravesite for one of my ancestors' wives. I didn't find it, but I sure enjoyed the countryside.

@@helencantimagine My oldest son lives in Troy. New York is a beautiful state unfortunately the rest of the state gets overshadowed by the New York City image. I think our version of ham rolls is probably the one thing we make that you dont see a lot of. I think my grandparents made them to save money at the holidays because a whole ham was expensive. They are just the rectangle sandwich ham slices wrapped around about 2 fingerfuls (not sure that's a word) of stuffing or dressing whatever you prefer and then lightly brushed with "liquid" brown sugar (brown sugar, butter, water) and baked at 350 for 15 minutes or till hot. They keep well, reheat well and you can add whatever you want to your stuffing to change up the flavor. Sometimes we put maple sausage bits in ours or chorizo, bacon, cheese, broccoli, basically whatever we're in the mood for. You can also use the sandwich turkey slices. The main thing is just the rectangle slices because they roll well. We have them without fail at the holidays.

@@Kg05117 I have yet to have ham rolls, but they sound delicious. Here in the South, we have cornbread dressing instead of stuffing. I could make enough of those for a quick meals.

This was very interesting to watch since I had no idea how to cook them. Honestly I thought you were going to fry them . I love corn bread. I was 37 the first time I ate it and I have loved it ever since. Omgosh I love sweet potatoes. It’s fun to see what others eat from around our country.

Hey Patti, I admit I chuckled when you wrote that you thought I would fry them. I love seeing what other people cook. We might cook the same food but in a different way. Food history is fascinating.
