The Chinese government is urgently calling Elon Musk for help to deal with backlash and pushback over its overcapacity, a kind word for dumping.

China is using the same coercive tactics with Elon Musk as it did with Steve Wynn, the billionair owner of Wynn Casino in Macao.
Wynn was asked by the Chinese government to act as its agent in exchange for an undisturbed business environment in China.

That's pretty much every American company that has a significant business presence in China. They're not just leveraging specific billionaire but rather all major American corporate entities that does business in China to act as lobbyist representing Chinese interest in US policy.

Do you have any proof that this is true? I can ask Google's Gemini chat bot but it might give biased answers.

Not really, Chinese EV companies got to where they are today by copying and learning from Tesla. China knows this so they'll continue to keep Tesla in business but won't let them dominate the Chinese market.
