Lao New Year Luang Prabang - Celebrating Pi Mai Lao 2018
I planned a great Pi Mai in Luang Prabang this year but because of the restrictions in place due to the virus, plans have been put on hold. This Lao new year video from our trip in 2018 had recently been blocked due to copyright issues (music track). So i thought i might as well edit it and re-upload at this time of Lao New Year ( Pi Mai Lao) and give you a little taste of the wonderful celebrations in Luang Prabang Laos. Enjoy. I had used the original Beatles track.. "here comes the sun". It was ok for a year or so, then they blocked it. I've been hanging on to the vid for about 6 months to re-edit and upload during Pi Mai. We were supposed to be back in Luangprabang for this years celebrations.. Maybe next year. 🙏

Thank for the fun memories, I wish we can visit doing Laos new year, it’s bring back so much memories, when I use to live there. My husband and our son visited Laungprabang in June 2017, beautiful place, we were planing to visit Laos/ Laungprabang this year, but do to coved-19 our flight were canceled. I to married Falang,I love visiting your blog. Always so much fun to see all the places you and Neenee visit. Stay safe.

Laos and Thailand share similar cultures and new year. But this year SongKran for both country will be as quiet than a regular day. It really suck but we have to do what best for our safety.
Hey my Friend,, Thank you for this,even though it was a re-run, its exactly what i needed. I was giggling from beginning to end. About a quarter of the way thru, there was a little girl in dark red. I loled at her,she was bound and determined to use all her water on you. Was cute as hell. And the kids just had the biggest smiles cause they got a farang.. lol The Thais seem to be missing Songkram pretty bad this year and id imagine its the same for Lao people missing new years . Question,,,How are the Monks getting fed during lockdown? Nothing has changed here since fri. That guy i was telling you about was the last person diagnosed in Montana. I cant stand listening to the news right,,,just constantly speculating about whats to come , maybe this and maybe that and then there is our bullshitter-in-chief saying he has total authority like hes the goddamned king. We kicked King George III out 245 yrs ago. Old George was totally mad/insane and i think trumpty dumpty isnt too far behind. Hes wanted to be a dictator since the day he was elected. To be honest mate, we haven't been out since the 12th, and it was dead quiet then. Yes, a lot of people seem to be doing the right thing.. you will see how quiet the streets are in tomorrow's video 👍

It's better to stay safe from covid-19 than risking your life to celebrate something that will come ever year, look at United State I don't think Lao government will have enough resources to fight the covid-19 if it gets out of control over there
