not suprised the metal back was a pain to remove, i wonder how their own service teams must be fixing this phone when people do bring it in. But that back glass is way too strong considering everything
I'm sure they have some special tools or machines which can remove the camera bezel easier but I feel they probably just replace both the housing and bezel since it's pretty hard not to give it some scrapes or scratches trying to separate it. Would have been better if they designed it similar to iPhones how the screen assembly with the plastic boarder lifts out after removing the bottom two screws.
I pre ordered this phone, got it for only 353$! I kept my previous phone poco f1 for almost 5 years, cause i got its battery replaced after 3 years on it at a local shop at just 12$, but looks like taking nord 4 on any local shop after battery degrades isnt good idea.. hope official OnePlus store here support this phone's official parts for long time cause poco's official mi centre here didn't have any parts of f1. So far I've used nord 4 for 5 days and its very good device (after disabling and uninstalling all bloat ware)
nord 4 battery health upto 80% needs 1600 battery cycles so it would last more than Poco after that repairing and finding new battery will be hard surely

It's a metal phone. It should survive quite long before requiring a repair even after a few drops. I do find it a shame that battery replacements will be a hassle, and idk how long this phone's battery will stay optimal.
I think you are too generous to give this phone a repair score because your work has been immaculate, and I can see some less experienced technician would fail to open that glass panel without cracking it too.

No surprise there with "metal unibody" being the tagline. It's still my preferred phone at its price range though, and repairability isn't exactly my 1st target. Watching this video to confirm what's behind that sheet of glass.
Yeah, if repairability isn't your main need, its good for a smartphone. Good cooling with the large vapor chamber, thermal paste, and graphite films in addition to the housing being metal.
Yeah, no need to replace some stupid backglass. And if handled carefully, not even the screen needs. My oneplus 6 has lasted now 6 years and only recently began getting cracks at backglass, but close to none on the screen. Hope the nord 4 at least holds as good as this.
lol, trust me this isn't my first time. I know what I'm doing. I tried it all. The way the bezel is rounded off into the metal frame and the way its adhered, it doesn't come off like a regular camera bezel would. I'd like to see you try it with a plastic card n see how well you do with this. :)
@@PBKreviews imagine if it's a customer's phone, he won't be happy to see the paint scratched after repair. This is not ever the way to disassemble the phone.

You're from India. Even if you did get green line, you have the free lifetime screen warranty if the green line happens. Hard to say the same about Samsung and Apple, who also has green line issues and would require you to pay for fixes.
I suggest a funny twist to your videos: if it takes longer than 1h to fully disassemble, destroy it in an instant gorilla nerve snap action and maximum unrecommend the phone.
this type of question doesn't make sense and I don't know why people ask. Can I see into the future? Until an update comes along and until people update the software, you won't know. It's not like there is a sticker inside the phone that says, "Hey, if you update the software on this phone, it will develop green lines on the screen." That just not how it works. Just because some phones had that issue, doesn't mean every phone in the future you need to worry about that. Thank you for the teardown. Sad about the poor design, the metal case is a callback to the Oneplus 3 which was very easy to repair. Regardless of repairability the phone is not worth buying anyways. The price of 499 Euro is too high for what it is, probably cheaper in other regions (but is the competition).
