  • Wallas has been building diesel heaters and cooktops, in Finland, for the marine industry, since 1972. Wallas forced air stove/heaters represent the state of the art in marine cooking systems. Using diesel eliminates the need for hazardous propane systems while providing responsive high-temperature stoves that will give years of reliable service.
    Unlike other systems, Wallas diesel stoves draw combustion air from inside the cabin and exhaust outside the cabin. This feature forces fresh air to be drawn into the cabin area, drying the interior and reducing the effects of condensation and mildew.
    Wallas stoves are fitted with fans and heat blower lids to distribute the stovetop heat into the room, making the stove/heater assembly a critically efficient use of precious cabin space!
    Why did we choose Wallas? We chose Wallas for quality, reliability, safety, efficiency, and its ability to dry the interior of the cabin.
    You can find Wallas heaters in sailboats, yachts, and earthroamers. With Wallas stove/heaters, you can choose a fixed setting for cooking, or set a thermostat to be comfortable all night. With an internal combustion chamber and outside exhaust, there is not a hit of diesel or combustion smell inside the cabin.

    Does the Wallas have a thermostat? Will it cycle on/off to maintain a temp?

    • @ANTISHANTY
      @ANTISHANTY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Ryan,
      It does not have a traditional thermostat in that you set the unit to a specific temperature to fire the unit on and off.
      It does have PI thermo control that is easy to use and extremely efficient.
      Wallas says this -
      "Smooth, intelligent PI thermo control option
      Wallas PI-thermo control is in operation in heating mode and when the thermostat control has been activated. PI-thermo control adjusts the heater function of XC Duo to heat up fast and after that it keeps the effect of the heater even to assure smooth inside temperature without any noticeable sound variations."
      We have found the unit to work very well for our extended off-grid trips.

    Does the Wallas have a water heater function built in?

    • @ANTISHANTY
      @ANTISHANTY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Fireplugrm, great question! The wallas does not have a designated water heater function built-in. However, a pot placed on the stovetop does a great job quickly and precisely heating up water for dishes, tea, etc. The added benefit of this simple tankless setup is there is no traditional winterization required.

    How mch diesel and how much electricity does the wallas consume per hour/day? Thanks
    Is it hard to start in cold weather? Thanks
    Is the air dry enough to prevent condensation? Thanks

      @ANTISHANTY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey Jo ben menachem, great questions. We have not found any difficulty starting the unit in cold weather, and in most conditions, the stove/heater will dry out the majority of the condensation in the air.
      In regards to the specific fuel and electrical consumption, we would refer you to Wallas directly. Have a great day!

      Many thanks for your kind reply.
      Does the system need a pump if the diesel tank is placed above the Wallas.? Is the pump noisy?
      Again, many thanks for the time and for the support in knowledge.

      @@jobenmenachem2269 Yes, the system does require a fuel pump. There is some noise, however, we are sure we would consider it noisy. All the best,

    Did I get this right? The diesel heater will only work if there are snow crystals outside?

      All Wallas diesel heaters can burn diesel #1, #2 (preferred) and fresh kerosene products.
