Part of the reason I always like human lore in fantasy stories. They're the ultimate underdogs. They get beaten down, they live for short periods compared to long living races, they're weaker than enhanced or magical creatures. Yet they continue through it all. Humans just don't give a fuck if it's impossible, they persevere.

      Very true

funny enough in the wider universe as a whole we are probly super tough/strong and durable because of our very strong gravity and we breath oxygen which is highly corrosive and oxygen is rocket fuel. most other complex life in the universe that would be able to attain technology/advanced society will probly be much smaller/weaker than us

We're omnivores, too. We could probably eat almost any alien with little to no preparation. If not, then proper cooking techniques fixes that. Humans found a way to eat puffer fish, after all.

If you think about it, humans are considered better in the Avatar movie simply by the fact that Jake Sully was able to be better than all the other Na'vi in such a short amount of time. He was able to ride a banshee on his first try, even the big giant one that no one else could. He beat up Tsu'tey in hand to hand combat with just basic military training, and Tsu'tey was supposed to be their greatest warrior and next in line as leader. Jake was even had the favor of Eywa. Not only that but Jake ended up being the leader of the Na'vi jungle tribe. James Cameron somehow was able to make it where humans are better at being Na'vi than the Na'vi themselves.

      1. They think that makes them smart. They think they are the only ones "brave" enough to see the flaws in mankind. (How arrogant! And how very... ironic)
      2. Perhaps they think being edgy is cool. (Edgy isn't cool, edgy is cringe)
      3. They did not get enough attention. (They should go home and rethink their life)

Unfortunately life and evolution are based on survival of the fittest (in their respective environment) which makes war, death, suffering and hatred unavoidable. Our method of survival is our ingenuity and innovation which thrive especially well in hardship, technology is not cheating, it's part of who we are and we also are Predators (killers/hunters) and Omnivores. If you have a problem with that it's your own fucking problem but you have no right to change human nature, only nature itself can change our nature. In the real world good and evil dies not exist, it's all just different points of view. That's why in some parts of the world it's morally correct to cut off a thieves hand while in others it's seen as inhumane.

Also, the humans in Avatar decided that it would be wise to stop the peaceful scientific mission and let the violent RDA run amuck on Pandora. Humanity was so stupid it let massive mage corporations overpower their governments, and now the most valuable resource they have is gone. The humans in an avatar sent out the Venture star to Pandora but because a corporation controlled it they massacred a group of Na’vi and ruined relations permanently. All that needed to happen was that earth diplomat engaged with the natives to allow a mining operation to begin. The polluting fuels that humanity used on Pandora is their stupidest decision. You find a habitable world and allow for fossil fuels that ruined the ecosystem. I almost believe the humans deserve it but the extinction of mankind isn't adequate punishment.

One of my favorite things about humans is our willpower. Even when the odds are stacked against us, we can prevail just by being determined enough. We’ve conquered uninhabitable lands and peasant militias have defeated professionally-trained armies. Even in settings where there are multiple sapient species and such, for some reason that determination and willpower has always felt like a uniquely human thing to me and it’s why I love playing them in games even if there are different races to choose from.

I'm reminded of one of my favorite quotes from my favorite Sci Fi series, The Three Body Problem:
(for context the main characters had just received a message from hostile aliens called Trisolarans who, like all alien invaders are obligated to do, mock humanity for being primitive bugs)
"Look at them, the bugs. Humans have used everything in their power to extinguish them: every kind of poison, aerial sprays, introducing and cultivating their natural predators, searching for and destroying their eggs, using genetic modification to sterilize them, burning with fire, drowning with water. Every family has bug spray, every desk has a flyswatter under it… this long war has been going on for the entire history of human civilization. But the outcome is still in doubt. The bugs have not been eliminated. They still proudly live between the heavens and the earth, and their numbers have not diminished from the time before the appearance of the humans. The Trisolarans who deemed the humans bugs seemed to have forgotten one fact: The bugs have never been truly defeated. A small black cloud covered the sun and cast a moving shadow against the ground. This was not a common cloud, but a swarm of locusts that had just arrived. As the swarm landed in the fields nearby, the three men stood in the middle of a living shower, feeling the dignity of life on Earth. Ding Yi and Wang Miao poured the two bottles of wine they had with them on the ground beneath their feet, a toast for the bugs.”
It's the perfect response to the idea that humans are primitive, weak, pathetic, and insignificant, because in reality even the smallest bugs are not insignificant. Like us, they persevere and even thrive in the face of great hardship.

Congratulations, you used a fictional book made by a human for humans as a way to argue how we can stand in the face of a race of beings potentially millions, billions, trillions years older than us.
Honestly the arrogance of these comments, if aliens got here with tech they would whoop us no question. I'm pretty sure there's more bugs than humans anyways. Your little analogy doesn't work anyways because bugs are killed easily by children, if we truly are the bugs to the aliens than RIP humanity because a couple aliens with some ships would do our entire species in.
Preserve in great hardship? If aliens decided to scorch us would we Preserve? Don't bring up no bugs, answer is no. Imagine a half percent difference between an alien and human, thier simplest thought would be beyond our capabilities.
I'm not saying humans can't become powerful but if anything about the reported cases our true it's best to stay humble.

Essentially, they're saying "I, being so enlightening, am able to recognize the faults of the lesser members of our species." It's an elitist idea. Those holding the idea who are not elites are merely convinced by the propaganda of the elites, made to actually believe that humanity, themselves included, are a plague upon existence. And it's popular to espouse moral grandstanding on the internet.
I'd argue that truly enlightened people recognize humans as having the greatest capacity for both evil and good. No creature can achieve more evil than a human, but neither can any creature achieve greater good. It's up to us to endeavor for the latter. And while we should absolutely be good stewards of animals and our environments, other people must come first.
