Oh my goodness! This is like watching a National Park documentary of Yosemite! You outdid yourself with this video! The mountains and the waterfalls are so pretty!

Thank you so much for the kind words. Yosemite is such a spectacular place & spring is a wonderful time to visit.
All I did was spend a few days trying to capture some small piece of it to share.

Marcus, got the impression you didn't "train" for such a challenging hike, but I'm proud of your response to it -- and good luck in the future ones. Happy to see you guys finally were able to do this together. Upon reflection, the first is always magic!

Nice trip. At least on the way back you didn't have to fight the crowds on the JMT down from Nevada Falls. In the (crowded) summer that to me is the most frustrating part of a pack trip ending in the valley. I'm impressed? that you were planning to get all the way to Merced from Happy Isles in 1 day. I've done it (downhill) several times, but it's +5,500 feet to the lake your way. Once out of 'Lost Valley' and on the granite I agree- can be very slippery. Even last time I did it in the summer I fell on my A$$ in the high section between the bridges S. of the River and yeah - freaked me out, a long way down.

oh, you'll get a 'knock' and likely a ticket if you sleep in your car at the trailhead in the summer. Speaking from experience.

@@danieloakland927 we actually lucked out and got a site at upper pines campground, just opted to sleep in the car rather than set tents up in the snow. I’d meant to clarify that in the video, but forgot all about it in the moment.

@@shredhiker6209 Cool. Yeah I got 'the knock' once before I was asleep but planning on sleeping in my van at Happy Isles TH parking, "you can't camp here"... I had a permit to start the next day, wasn't going to bother anyone; they skipped giving me a ticket when I said I was going to be mapping out a route I was taking Boy Scouts on the next month. Had to hoof it to BPacker's camp for the night. I guarantee there are people sleeping in their vehicles in the Curry Village lot on any given summer night.

It was such an experience! We literally experienced all 4 seasons over two days, thankfully we were prepared for that being a possibility.
