    Generally my projects are for my grandchildren to enjoy. OK, I enjoy them too. If anybody else likes them, that is a bonus. I like to keep my work as simple and basic as possible so that it can be copied easily and improved by anybody who wants to try themselves. I recycle or repurpose items rather than buy new and when I do buy I like to keep it cheap.

    I have several Hornby in my slot car box.
    The Mitsubishi has provision for extra magnets.

      This is another one for the junk box unless I start selling on eBay. Trouble with eBay selling is the postal charges make items like this far too expensive and they have closed all the local post offices so it's a special journey just to post them anyway. So junk box or back to a charity shop.

      +GrandadIsAnOldMan couldn't you just use a small screw for the guide pin thing

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Clorox bleach a plastic peg would be better. On proper Scalextric track the slots are conductive so putting a small screw in there would short circuit the power. The proper slot guides are not very expensive and available on eBay

      Yes, I just did a quick search on eBay and can see your slot car pins. The Scalextric slot car guide blade is a different shape and I can see your tracks are a different format so the Scalextric cars would not be directly compatible. If you do a search for "slot car guide blade" you will see the difference. Interesting to see how the companies have taken different approaches to the same basic product.

    Would it work with your slot track if it had a steering thing?

    • @GrandadIsAnOldMan
      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Not on the tracks that I have as they are only 3 volts and this wants 12 volts

      @GrandadIsAnOldMan  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      When I used to race slot cars they would never have had the original wheels, I would always have changed them for something with a better grip. But then, that would have been over 50 years ago 😁

      @@2smokeHennerz I am talking about the guide peg that is missing. I am pointing at the hole where the 'slot guide' should be. That seems like a very fast slot car. I'm sure you'll find that lots of fun with it. Nice video
