That’s definitely a sweet spot. I know you didn’t keep any fish in the video but you did mention you wanted to do a catch and cook so I would warn you to check the regs for yourself but I’m pretty sure that area is a NO TAKE area. Tight lines my friend 🤙🏼🎣
Hey thanks for the watch and the heads up. This is actually well out of SMCA zone. I always make sure to look into these things when fishing new areas! Tight lines!
@@luckytidestv mild white meat, they do have midline bones if you cut a fillet though, so look out for that and feel up the fillets for some extra bones...
No not in a few months. Roads are always super terrible over there. Kinda sketchy. And don’t even think a lowered car could hang. But maybe it has gotten worse
Ok get down from the trail and to the point on the right instead? I went over there one time but it seemed shallow and I couldn’t see any deep areas. But I’m sure if I go out there when the tides is different things could look totally different
Fun day! I live in Hermosa Beach and do extremely well from the shore ( surf perch, halibut, croaker, corbina, and stripers ) but wouldn’t mind heading up the hill to target a few other species 🏄🏼♂️🎣🤙🏻
@@luckytidestv Just caught a good one two weeks ago… around 27” and 12-15lbs. Caught it on a Calissa 110 sardine glow. They are few and far between but they are out there and they are big! 🏄🏼♂️🎣🤙🏻
@@walden6272 It doesn’t really matter as the strippers migrate up and down the beach from Torrance Beach north to Marina Del Rey and in between the jetties. It’s really more about conditions, tides, current, baitfish ( bird activity ) the right lures and a bit of luck! 🏄🏼♂️🎣🤙🏻
I’ll have to check them out! I do a lot of backpacking for trout and my Vans MTE boots are gonna be out of commission soon. Go check out some of those vids if your interested
Looks like fun, nice catch! Thanks for sharing. Found a nice spot to launch my kayak there so look forward to catching some of those Calico and Sheep very soon :)
Instead of a offset hook and a bead for the weedless presentation, I recommend investing in the warbaits neckbreaker. Its a jighead with a offset hook. Its a little expensive but adds a nice additional movement.
Yeah I really like the neck breaker and want to get some but it’s just the price point. Fishing the rocks and kelp like this your destined to lose some gear here and there. This setup is so dang cheap and works good. I do agree though the neck breaker would have a better hook up ratio do to the movement. I need to get some and try them out.

Great vids. Would love to collab with you on a local catch and cook. Hit me up if you’re interested, please.
Great video!! Let’s do a collaboration vid!!

Giant kelpfish are cool... those are pretty big for the species..
They are pretty cool fish. I was super surprised to see them this big. I wonder how they taste?

Has anyone been to that location recently? I was at Abalone Cove last weekend, and the roads were bad

We use to go there in 1950 s my dad and friends gide pools catch your limit on 10 minutes
Wow that’s awesome! I bet the fisheries were so much different back then
Nice catch bro! Beautiful fish!
Thanks!!
You should use real raw shrimp. Not those cooked orange ones, cuz you will for sure get more bites. Gl
Awesome man! Good to know thanks!
I would avoid eating the fish from PB. There is tons of DDT all along the PB coast that was dumped from Torrance.
Sweet man thanks for the heads up!
I have a pretty good sheep spot in PV - probably going tomorrow morning!
Nice man!! Best of luck 🤞 Apparently I gotta get me a better spot!
@@luckytidestv I'll show you the spot - want to come with?
@@Papajon330unfortunately I won’t be able to tomorrow but let’s link up one of these days! Thanks for the invite bro!

Bro you should hit the right side of that cove I go there all the time and I’ve caught monster Cabezon, Opaleye, Rockfish, sheepshead etc.!!

@@luckytidestv most definitely I highly recommend it!
What gear iso you have? The one with the swim bait ?
It’s an Abu Garcia Revo X 6.6:1. Been great to me. Check out one of my last videos. I pulled in a beast of a Calico no problem with this thing!
Spinning gear is way easier from the rocks. Lots of great spots all around PV.

Nice man! Give it a go! And stripers out that way right now? I have yet to catch one from the surf.

Nice man I gotta figure that out. I would love to take my kayak here. The waves were a little bit hairy when I was here though
@@luckytidestv Ya when kayak fishing, rule number one, 1-2 ft surf max. Rule two, 10 mph wind max. Then all is well :)
