According to the Lob Corp art book, there are actually 7 warning levels (to go with the whole book of revelations trumpets of the apocalypse theme), but only three appear in game
The other warnings are as follows:
Fourth Warning: the facility has been overrun by abnormalities and the emergency burial procedure has been activated (what happened to Yuri)
Fifth Warning: multiple Fourth Warning scenarios happen in quick succession
Sixth Warning: Lobotomy Corp messes up so bad that the Head gets involved and revokes their status as a Wing
Seventh Warning: abnormalities are now the primary species of the world, the few remaining humans try desperately to avoid their inevitable extinction

In the Lob Corp artbook it is mentioned that there are 7 warnings, the first is played when an abno breaches and it represents a minor threat to the facility, the 2nd warning is when there's a threat to the facility that can turn for the worse if you do not handle it correctly, 3rd warning is played when most employees have died and it would be almost impossible to recover, 4th warning means the facility is done for, 5th warning is played when the 4th warning has been played in multiple facilities, 6th warning represents the falling of L Corp as a wing and finally the 7th warning represents the end of humanity

There is also a certain Abnormality that triggers it the moment it breaches for the first time, although that one immediately kills twelve Agents and converts them into enemies, and is generally considered the hardest Abno to contain.

fun fact: the text in the corners changes on third warning where first and second say "ALERT", third warning says "DISASTER".
also according to the art book there are seven trumpets that go as:
first trumpet: An Abnormality has breached an poses a minor threat to the facility and its employees.
second trumpet: It's not too late to improve the situation. A competent manager can handle this much. Of course, it will cost several employees.
third trumpet: It would be a miracle if you recover from this. situation. Most employees have died, and it will be nigh impossible to suppress the breaching Abnormalities.
fourth trumpet: The facility is done for. Your role as Manager is as well.
fifth trumpet: You actually won't hear this alarm on any occasion. This level technically exists only in the manual. The Fourth Trumpet has been set off in many branches and facilities, a majority of Abnormalities are out in the world.
sixth trumpet: When this sets off, we will probably have lost our position as a Wing, either by Abnormalities or other Wings. The situation is out of our Corporation's hands.
seventh trumpet: This is the end. Abnormalities have thrust humanity into an irreversible ruin. There is no hope in this apocalypse. This alarm is reserved for the absolute worst case scenario imaginable.

First warning is an alert, it tells you to pause and check around for trouble.
Second is a fight, it’ll usually only happen when something has gone so wrong that needing an alert for it would be pointless as you’re likely already working to fix it.
Third warning is send off. If you’ve gotten this then everything’s gone so wrong that even if you manage to fix it you’ll likely not want to keep the day.

If I had to describe each of these warnings, it'd be like this :
First Trumpet is an alarm that puts less emphasis on stress, and more on tension. You know there's a threat out in the open, and you need to dispose of it before it can kill too many employees, but taking care of it is relatively easy, and control eventually returns to you quickly. It'd be like a TETH abnormality breaching, or even a HE abnormality when you're advanced enough to easily suppress it.
Second Trumpet is an alarm that does put emphasis on stress and chaos. The threat that was important but not too dangerous is now your top priority, and you have to dispose of it as soon as possible, or else the facility itself is in danger, and many, if not most of your employees will die. This would be like multiple HE or WAW abnormalities breaching at the same time, or maybe even an ALEPH.
Third Trumpet is just the definition of awesome, in the sense that it induces awe. It's over. Nearly, if not everyone, is dead, and the few survivors most likely have gone insane and will die shortly. Without words, it manages to tell you that the facility is doomed, and that you have failed as a manager. Even if you have the smallest sliver of hope to turn things back, it's probably going to go to waste, since you'll have suffered far too many casualites to be able to continue correctly. This is an extreme scenario, where multiple dangerous WAW abnormalities breach, along with one or two ALEPH, notably Nothing There or the Mountain of Smiling Bodies.

Fun fact, while there are only these three alarms in the game, the LobCorp artbook mentions a total of seven Warnings/Trumpets used by L Corp:
First Trumpet - A breaching abnormality poses a minor threat to the facility.
Second Trumpet - The situation will cost several lives to fix.
Third Trumpet - Most employees are dead, and it will be almost impossible to fix.
Fourth Trumpet - The facility is done for. Your role as Manager as well.
Fifth Trumpet - Many facilities have fallen and most Abonormalities are loose in the City.
Sixth Trumpet - L Corp has fallen, either by Abnormalities or other Wings.
Seventh Trumpet - Abnormalities have led humanity towards ruin. The is no escaping the apocalypse.
While we don't know what Trumpets 4-7 sound like, the in-game ones suggest they will grow more mournful as the scale increases. Calling them "Trumpets" links back to the religious references of the game, so I like to think they gradually become more and more tragically divine as you go up. Haunting choirs beckoning the end of the world, type thing.

the 3 warnings in game are referred to as the 1st, 2nd, and 3rd trumpets as they are refences to the 7 trumpets of the apocalypse from the bible with a 4th unused trumpet being mentioned in the game files as a game over theme for the destruction of the branch. In the managers guide it mentions that the 5th trumpet would be the result of multiple branches experiencing 4th trumpet events resulting in abnormalities roaming the city freely, the 6th trumpet would be for the event in which L corp is destroyed and the 7th trumpet is reserved for the extinction of humanity.

  • @ekimmak

The way that Warnings work is that it scales based on threats emerging, versus how strong your facility is.
If you have an endgame facility, then a TETH breaching means nothing, you won't here the music shift up.
But if you have only a midgame facility, and you upset Big Bird and Little Bird, while Long Bird is also around then you're probably going to hear the First Warning immediately, if not Second Warning. Because that's a lot of threats breaching all at once.

The alarm sounds is canonically the same alarms that goes off within the department/facility when an Abnormality breaches out of their containment. It lets every employee (and the player) know something dangerous is on the loose and needs to be dealt with.
Second Warning is triggered when there’s multiple employees dead, or multiple dangerous abnormalities are breaching. Chaos is breaking out through the entire facility. If you don’t deal with it quickly you’ll lose any chance of making it to the next day. It of course doesn’t help that some abnormalities breach when other abnormalities breach… and some abnormalities breach when a certain amount of employees die which multiplies the problems.

  • @AWrySmile
    @AWrySmile ปีที่แล้ว +6

There is a theory that first and second warning is what the Manager hears. Because you see, he has a cognition filter, which changes and censors what he sees.
First Warning is, as the name suggests, the first alarm. Something has gone wrong. Take care of it before it’s too late. At first, a breach from anything can trigger this. Later, some lower level abnormalities are ignored.
Second Warning, the situation is spiralling out of control. You can recover, but no agent will come out of it unscathed.
Third Trumpet: The situation is salvageable, but the losses are severe. People tend to restart the day if this happens, although there is a special abnormality that plays this music. It is one of the most iconic and most powerful abnormalities.
Anyway, this video was amazing, and I loved your thoughts on it!

1:43 Like every other gameplay mechanic in Lobotomy Corporation, it's both Lore and Gameplay, the Trumpets/Warnings play to indicate the current danger of the situation.
1st Trumpet/Warning: Something has gone wrong but it's so minor that you should be able to handle it with little trouble. This usually happens when low danger abnos (ZAYIN/TETH) escape, though as you grow stronger 1st Trumpet starts playing for what were previously more serious situations, with near the end of the game 1st Trumpet covers basically any situation that doesn't involve a WAW or ALEPH abno.
2nd Trumpet/Warning: Something major has gone wrong and employees are probably gonna end up dead, but the situation is still within your means to reasonably handle. Early on this generally means the breakout of several TETH/HE abnos, however later on this covers breakouts of singular WAW and ALEPH abnos.
3rd Trumpet/Warning: Everything has gone wrong, you probably cant handle the situation without catastrophic loss to the point where it's not even worth trying and you should just restart the day, which is why 3rd Trumpet is more hopeless and depressing while 2nd Trumpet is more intense. Earlier on this plays when a significant chunk of the abnos in the facility have broken out and/or the breakout of a WAW or ALEPH, and closer to the end it requires the breakout of several ALEPHs.
Technically there exists a 4th, 5th, 6th, and 7th Trumpet but those are pure Lore and don't appear in Gameplay, and as far as I recall we don't know what they are or what conditions they indicate, beyond the fact that the 4th Trumpet requires the Manager's death/loss of the ability to loop the facility back and the 7th Trumpet marks the end of the world. Obviously since the Manager doesn't die during the course of the game the rest of the Trumpets don't show up, and even if they theoretically did occur they likely wouldn't progress past the 4th or 5th Trumpet as the Head has been confirmed to be able to completely revert Adam's bad end which was likely a similar situation as to what the 6th Trumpet would be (abnos breaking out of L Corp and Destroying the City, except in Adam's bad end they just take over the City).

I have never heard any piece of music that makes me feel as much powerless as the Third Trumpet. It gives you the feeling of trying to fight an impossible fight, knowing fully well that everything is against you and that you have already lost. It's like witnessing everyone important to you dying, without you being able to do anything about it. All you can do is to just give up. The song even gets more depressing the longer it goes, so even if you did try to stand against the impossible, its telling you just how meaningless your struggle is.

For me, I see the work of the Manager to constantly battle for things to be under his control and the gameplay reflects that too. Normally, you hear the happy tingling tune that signals that everything is under control and going as they should. But in an instant, it can change.
    1. Trumpet is the sound of alarm/danger. It means that something is threatening your control over the facility and you should look into it. As the music build up, it signifies the importance of the situation, as it starts to sound more tense and a little bit like Third Trumpet with the chore in the background, like as a reminder of how things could turn up. Fixing the situation results back to the calm music that normally plays. But if you don't manage to fix the problem...
    2. Trumpet is the sound of struggle. It means that you have already lost control, but if you play your cards right, you can still claim it back. It is a power play between you and a snowball that is rolling down the hill, getting bigger and causing more and more havoc, becoming more destructive until eventually if you don't manage to stop it in time...
    3. Trumpet is the sound of despair. You have lost all control and you are completely powerless. All you can do is sit and watch the destruction unfolding in front of you, reading the Sefirots telling you how their entire departments have been killed and eventually even Angela telling you that its only you and her left in the entire facility. The best of your employees either lie in pieces or run around the facility, attack each other or kill themselves as their mind lies in ruins from either confronting so many Abnormalities or from all the death they have witnessed. I think the Third trumpet plays both for the employees and to you aswell. After all, you were responsible for overseeing the energy harvesting process and it was your decisions that led to this moment.

    Nice cooking sesh:
    1) Pretty much, Pmoon back then didn't have much of a budget. So their OST was made from different creators (and even one famous music that flags youtube video when one specific abno is taken)
    2) Warnings have triggers to play depending on emergency situations:
(First Trumpet): When the danger score equals or exceeds 10 points (one breakage of weak abno or agent dead)
(Second Trumpet): When the danger score equals or exceeds 50 points (big abno breaks out or few abnos go wild)
(Third Trumpet): When the danger score equals or exceeds 80 points (agents are dying, abnos walk in corridors)
    3) Most of actual bangers/chill tunes play in story parts and not in management parts.
    4) If you ever will play it, sadly "More detailed info" mod is extremely recommended for detailed info and not some general wording. (And maybe playthrough can be made in youtube video series even, idk have fun ¯\_(ツ)_/¯)

A great video to add visuals to these tracks is "Full Qliphoth Meltdown" by Halonexus.
Really gives you a great idea of just how absolutly dire the situation can get when things start to go downhill.

12:46: Actually, you're wrong on that front. It's actually the theme of a very powerful ALEPH Abnormality that in its first appearance permanently takes away a ZAYIN-class, and now you're down twelve men with twelve ALEPH-class entities loose in the facility. And you're only getting that ZAYIN-class back through manual save editing.
(You'll know why I say this because Third Trumpet - that's what the warnings are called in the manual, after the trumpets of the apocalypse - turns up again during Religion Realization, which stars the Abnormality in question.)

The way I see it is:
1st warning: Danger, enliminate the threat with caution. You may have a few casualties.
2nd warning: Chaos is everywhere, employees are dying left and right. Resolve the conflict by any means necessary, as quickly as possible.
3rd warning: At this point, you may as well restart the day. Either everyone is dead or enough people have died to force you to restart anyway.

It is surprising that there are technically 7 trumpets and WhiteNight or Apocalypse Bird trigger only THREE warnings...What kind of anormality shit it suppose to happen to trigger seventh "End of Humanity" trumpet? Thats fridge horror moment

Could you image a way to have this alarm with yah. When your sleeping, the first goes off, the second comes to play to give us that warning to hurry, while the last warning is basically being late to work.

The fact that there's (to my knowledge) supposedly seven Trumpets while you can only go up to Third always makes me wonder what those other 4 are meant for and how much pure chaos those would cause 😅

4th: the specific branch gets destroyed
      5th: multiple branches destroyed
6th: L Corp shuts down (which is technically the true ending)
      7th: humanity dies

No need to wonder, we know about the 7 trumpets because of the artbook, which also says what they are. To confirm, it’s what the person above said.

@@seisosimp It's interesting to think that the 4th Trumpet does not play even after all of the agents and clerks are dead and the abnormalities are running rampant over the bloodstains that are their remains. Even if the Sephirot and X are still alive, that branch is functionally destroyed.

    • @Azerrr

@@vadandrumist1670I think that's because it's the main branch, so you can still use TT2 (I'm actually not sure if managers of other branches can use TT2)

I'd personally recommend that, not as a full playthrough, just play a bit of it on your own time if you don't want to stream it. The beginning is not nearly as bad as people make it out to be. Its only hard if you don't pay attention to each abno's likes and dislikes. And you know us people: We don't pay attention.

It's add visual novel with one of the best stories I've ever read and it has over a 150 soundtracks including some vocal ones.
As a start you could react to either "golden slaughter" or "world end dominator"
    Please 🙏
