Wow! Your parents house looks like a catalog spread for a fancy shelter magazine! And the custom table you designed/built definitely complements their aesthetic. I'm sure means the world to have a custom piece made by their Baby Boy. Well done!
Really great job Johnny especially considering how hard it can be sometimes with moving parts! The steel track in the top was genius as well, not seen that done before!
Hello I just saw this video and loved it!! However I can't find the extention slides the link goes to the home page, could you help me out! Thank you!!
How did you make the small insert cuts for the dowelled wooden biscuits inserts into the edge of each piece that you glued together with? Did you a special tool or jig do them?
Hah, it's a bandaid, sliced my finger while moving the table into place! Although I definitely would have preferred a Bugle, perfect for mid-intro snacking. Thanks dude!
It’s beautiful! Wish you had shown how it extended with the middle piece in there. Why didn you fill the holes before you put the hardware on in the first place?
I had to take the hardware off for finishing anyway, so it was just as efficient to do it after installing hardware. I like to do any hardware before finish prep in case I need to cover up any erroneous holes.
Love the table & your work its absolutely beautiful! What is the total length of the table? I'm planning on building one myself, can the extensions accommodate a 12' to 14' table. Thank you in advance for sharing.
I am doing a similar design but making my table base with wood.. would I be able to do my build in the same fashion? Do you think the table tops would slide along the wood well enough or should I consider adding something to assist the sliding?
I know this is an older build of yours but I am looking to make a very similar table now. I am trying to find the extension slides you used but looks like lee valley doesn't carry them any more, any ideas on where i could find similar slides?
When you slide out the main panels and then set the middle panel, how does those all stay snug together? Did you add additional "window locks" for the middle panel?
This table is exactly what my wife and I are looking to get. I don't have the workshop capabilities to build this, where could I find something like this to buy... im having a hard time with the right keywords and search terms to find this. Adjustable, natural wood, black metal legs dining table?
Thanks! I would definitely find an epoxy specifically marketed for use outdoors, as many epoxies will yellow over time when exposed to UV. Totalboat, the manufacturer of the epoxy I used, specializes in boat building, so I'd imagine they have plenty of options that would work for you.

Well, glued, dominoed, dowelled, welded, and screwed it. Ok, so everything but nailed it...
😂 Thanks!
How did you make the small insert cuts for the dowelled wooden biscuits inserts into the edge of each piece that you glued together with?
Did you a special tool or jig do them?
Stunning table, Nice work man!

Great video, great build. Definitely need more metal+wood projects from you.
Thanks, definitely more to come!
😀 Very nice! The table is awesome! 👌 I also just love transforming furniture. 😁 Great job! 🤓
Thanks a lot!
Looks awesome! Can you provide a link for the slides you used for the extensions? The link in the description doesn't seem to point anywhere.
I bet that was fun to transport from Asheville to Atlanta. Great build!
It was definitely a lot of work to move! Thanks.
Awesome build
Thanks Chuck!
Looks good Johnny! That's awesome this is a guild build that says something if Marc's interested in it.🍻
Appreciate it Joe! Definitely proud to be a part of the Guild this year.
@@craftedworkshop ALWAYS BRO!& HELL YEA I WOOD BE TOO!NOT MANY PPLE CAN SAY THEY'RE APART OF IT.

Awesome build!! Great looking table!!

Great work man!
Thanks!
this was a complicated build but you made it look easy
Thanks!
Is that a Bugle on your thumb in the outro??? Great table, brother!
Hah, it's a bandaid, sliced my finger while moving the table into place! Although I definitely would have preferred a Bugle, perfect for mid-intro snacking. Thanks dude!
We need a house tour, great layout and design.
Thanks!
Looks great dude!
Thanks Nick!

Great Video Johnny!!, I love the content!!
Thanks Jeff!
Very cool
Thanks!
Loved the table man. Awesome build. Also just ordered my shirt!
Nice, thanks!
An added bonus is that this table also doubles as a bomb shelter. Super beefy! Came out really nice.
Hah, no doubt! Thanks.
MAN SAW!
😂
HTR and JB on the same comment thread! What’s going to happen next, a collab party?!
That'd be fun!
So I'm not the only one that heard that then.. good!
Hah! My cold is making my words sound different evidently.
It’s beautiful! Wish you had shown how it extended with the middle piece in there. Why didn you fill the holes before you put the hardware on in the first place?

I want one!
Get to building, hah!
If my tabletop is cupped a little bit, does it matter if you install metal supports on the concave side or convex side?
I am doing a similar design but making my table base with wood.. would I be able to do my build in the same fashion? Do you think the table tops would slide along the wood well enough or should I consider adding something to assist the sliding?
Nice as always❤️
Thanks Ahmed!
What a great build(video) of that beautiful table! Ready for Thanksgiving haha 😀
Thanks, can’t wait to have the whole family around it!
I know this is an older build of yours but I am looking to make a very similar table now. I am trying to find the extension slides you used but looks like lee valley doesn't carry them any more, any ideas on where i could find similar slides?
Awesome job bro, next video on how u did that chair
I didn't build the chairs, I wish! Thanks!
When you slide out the main panels and then set the middle panel, how does those all stay snug together? Did you add additional "window locks" for the middle panel?
There are window locks between each panel, yes.
This table is exactly what my wife and I are looking to get. I don't have the workshop capabilities to build this, where could I find something like this to buy... im having a hard time with the right keywords and search terms to find this. Adjustable, natural wood, black metal legs dining table?
All you need to do is add in the 'missing' over-hang side panels! 😉 great use of recycling old wood though... happy days
Great table! Is there anything one has to take into account when using epoxy (different kinds? additives?), especially for an outdoor table?
Thanks! I would definitely find an epoxy specifically marketed for use outdoors, as many epoxies will yellow over time when exposed to UV. Totalboat, the manufacturer of the epoxy I used, specializes in boat building, so I'd imagine they have plenty of options that would work for you.
Good job bro👍💖👍
Thanks!
Hey! I have that shirt! lol
great build, cool shirt.

Johnny, do ever tend to go through your milling process in more than one pass (leaving boards to set for a day or days and shift if they do)
For sure, pretty much always. This mulling process was done over the course of a week. Really helps the boards acclimate.
Crafted Workshop thanks for the reply Johnny, really enjoy the videos. The new merch looks sick too!
Small dining room table
Where did you get the square steel tubing? Everywhere I've looked it is very, very expensive. Like several hundred dollars expensive.
Is that your parent's house?! Damn they're stylish!
Yup, they’ve got great taste!
Love the build. Which chairs did you get? Do you like them?
They’re Eames plastic shell chairs from Design Within Reach, they’re great.
You said you drilled and tapped holes into the table, did you use some kind of insert nut? Or did you actually tap the wood??
I tapped the wood, I used the Wood Whisperer Thread Taps, they work great and are extremely strong.
