"I don't judge anybody, man" and then "Ill put up with the unhappy people who have nothing better to do... and then just send them to the recycle bin..." 😂
not unhappy people there ok as long as there not downright disrespectful. If so they go to the recycle bin. That is not judging its having healthy boundaries
Just sitting here relaxing with a glass of win and enjoying another fin presentation from shrink. I may not contribute financially to the channel, but I do offer excellent audio advice and happiness in Shrink's comment section, and THOSE are things that money can't buy.
The tube is about modular design. It contains a MOSFET circuit, that is easily upgraded without getting in the chassis. The circuit itself is pretty cool looking. The AGD amps sound excellent, if that matters at all to your channel.
Shrink, Thanks for your insight and service to everyone here. I too believe that simplicity is the way to go. Keep it simple, you only buy quality once and explore the music. It is always refreshing to stop in and share some time here. I get so tired of these audio reviewer guys on TH-cam who are constantly changing and reviewing the newest and greatest whatever. Keep up the good work and just know that this is a port in a storm out in audio land.
Hi, have you ever tried the diy side of hifi, I found that if you build speakers/amps? The urge to buy new stuff stops as you have built it and feel good about it.
I completely agree about streamer screens-they’re unnecessary. However, I’m not keen on using an app either. I’d much prefer if the streamer had a web interface accessible on port 80. Relying on an app introduces another potential point of failure. With a web interface on port 80, I could access the device from the local network using any browser, on any device, without needing an app.
The difference between them is the mytek is a "faux tube" their words not mine and the AGD is swappable.. SO if they came out with a higher powered GAN tube you could theorically swap them.. I get what your saying but the AGD "Tube" while not a traditional tube has a function, mytek is just asthetics..
Good to see and hear that's there's still some common sense ...I build alot myself , the fewest components in the signal path , point to point (no PCB ) ......OCC wiring ....and the less switches , connectors or solderjoints possible..........no way to fall into the pitfall of high end gimmicks..........the results.........it's all about music and not illusions........on glossy paper sheets .
The problem with apps is they die and are eventually not supported. I have had several apps stop being supported after a period of time. I think apps cut both ways. As IOS and android operating systems get updated the apps don’t frequently have longevity. Especially with these boutique builders that may not be around in 5 years. So eventually you have a compatibility problem. I have a few pieces of electronics that will not function any longer because the app won’t work in current version of IOS. Apps are ok if you roll gear often because you never hit a “death” of an app. Touch screens normally mean onboard software that may work longer (without dependency of iOS). I am not saying I like touchscreens. I just don’t like components that require a mobile phone/tablet app. Planned obsolescence dude. I wanna buy something and only buy it once. This is why I am enjoying my tube amp. Sure it’s old tech, sure the tubes are a pain, sure they are susceptible to noise, sure they get hot. But really…. they do sound the best to me. I need that e1X sometime…saving my copper. Eventually get one and see if it hangs with my 95w KT170s.
ya I only like onboard software or tidal connect. But I understand what you are saying. As for e1x its a lot more than just an amp.Power is ample but tech and capability is at the forefront. The e1x is futureproof
You know what they say about waving those shiny objects in front of people shrink, it gets their attention. And while i agree with your take on straightforward audio, that's probably a result of decades of experience and exposure to so many components/equipment and understanding what's really important. Other people just haven't gotten there yet, but they will. Appreciate ya shrink, rock on brother!
I hate touch screens. Dave it would be interesting if you could actually listen to the AGD stuff. The tube is replacable when upgrads come along. A plug and play upgrade.
I agree. They could easily have a chip or a component that plugs in on the top and can be swapped out. They put it in the tube to make it look like a tube to make it look cool like a tube.
Ive recently discovered there is SOME marginal difference using a good streamer as opposed to the traditional PC hooked to a DAC, but im right there with ya on the whole fad of it. The cost may in fact be no different, but I'm gonna delve into the world of homebrew R-Pi streamers. So long as a good chassis and power supply is used they can be superior IMHO.
@@fastian-q6jmaybe so but the zen is a different price point hand built in uk designed in portugal with Internal Sean jacobs lpsu.Different animal. Its 4x the cost so its hard to compare as its not a fair comparison. You do get what you pay for with an Innuos product. But red seems like good value as long as its not glitchy software
I am yes.I have shared on the simple more understated industrial designs no bling look on prior vids that I prefer. My whole system has this look. For instance the fyne 500sp although great I did not like the look, too much attention to itself the chrome bezel shine. Some love that.Me I rather prefer the elegant simple buchardt and Spatial aesthetic
that ocd guy is a clown. he just likes to stir the pot and pretend he's giving you secret info. everything he says is super basic nonsense. he just likes to calm the newbies.
I agree with gimmicks but you find them also in the components, a bunch don't bring anything "better" to the sound but shop off you wallet . Tell us about that if you ever notice it.
The AGD “tube” provides galvanic isolation and upgrading capabilities from the power unit’s transformers.
I know but too me a bit gimmicky still for me.Tubes a tube

Without hearing it and call out a product. Maybe it is a gimmick but it does make upgrading easy. Honestly I do like the look of those fake tubes. 😊
never called it out sonically its simply a video about what I feel are gimmicks

Thanks for sharing. Those are some very kind words. It is nice when I get some real wisdom shared relating to my channel. You get me🙏
You have a good attitude about simplicity. Same here.
Thanks so much!

awesome idea.I fear because I have even soldered a wire in my life.I say if one can its a huge advantage and a great way to play🙏
Just subscribed! My new hero!
🙏hero?wow!🤣watch more of my videos.Truly zero to hero
Totally agree with you Dave thanks for the confirmation. Sometimes you need that extra kick in the but .
Absolutely
Im with you on not needing a touch screen. Having a screen is nice to see albums art or VU meters.
I do not even care for those.Prefer the stealth look.

I think the AGD gan tubes are silly too!
yup.But I do like the product otherwise due to its size and I am a class d lover here.Would like to hear it.
Right on Shrink❤❤❤ you got to be right in front of screen to see it anyways. You got a screen on phone or tablet.
absolutely
Thanks! Dave keep plugging away
Always! and when I am appreciated it just makes it easy

Its just sad and not smart as a dealer he has to cut down other manufactures soon no one will want to deal with him as it will tarnish there name
