    After spending hours searching for a video of a DIY power box I wanted to make, I finally found it! Thank you!

    I have the same components and set as you listed in your video
    Followed most of your design. I installed my connectors on side that was cumbersome
    I do have the banana plugs you suggested for top
    Need to do the same as I leave the ammo Plano in my Ranger rear compartment
    I like to be on top….
    My Plano Top lid latch plastic tab already broke… hmmm

      @daveholte7658 I keep mine in the front driver side compartment and I have not had any issues with my box all these years. Even the battery is still holding on, and I still fish all day and have no issues.

      Great Question! I have not done it, but it doesn't hurt to try it. The Battery should be able to handle it with no problems. If you try it let me know how it turns out!!!

    Excellent video personally on my boat I’m using a Dewalt 20 V battery. It’s a six amp hour battery and I’m getting my power for my graph from a different source. Is that a problem?

    • @jcbassfishingchannel
      @jcbassfishingchannel  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I don't think thats a problem. Just remember that the black box from the livescope pulls a lot of power and if the battery is not completely charge it could quit on you while fishing.

      @@jcbassfishingchannel will do. I have the same box as you as my Amped is the 30Ah Tall with actual Phillip Screw lugs on it
      Only suggestion I have is. Install a 10 amp fuse after battery before switch. That would protect everything “downstream” I know the power sides of Garmin and Blk Box are fused.. A great video. Thanks

    • @jcbassfishingchannel
      @jcbassfishingchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks for your comment! No i keep the battery inside. I only take the charger that comes with the battery out and connect it to the battery and charge it overnight and it's ready for another day of fishing.

    What about the need for fuses between battery and livescope black box?

    • @jcbassfishingchannel
      @jcbassfishingchannel  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The livescope power cable already comes with a fuse and if I remember properly the Garmin screen power cable also has a fuse on it so you don't need to add more fuses.

    Do you unhook wire’s from battery before charging

    • @jcbassfishingchannel
      @jcbassfishingchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, I have a double connector so I can connect the charger to the one that's open and leave all wires connected, however you need to ensure the battery power is off in order to charge it correctly.

  • @davidmason5928

    What gage wire is required?

  • @bugtussle7475
    @bugtussle7475 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

    Nice box but I don’t understand the point of it. Why do you need a separate portable box for your power source that does not also include your screen and black box?

    • @jcbassfishingchannel
      @jcbassfishingchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Because tye black box by itself pulls so much power out of your other battery that it will drain it and you will be stuck in the middle of the lake. I run the Garmin and the livescope on this setup and since then I never been stranded without power, however when I used to run everything together I got stuck in the water twice with no power. Thats the point of it.

    • @bugtussle7475
      @bugtussle7475 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@jcbassfishingchannel I totally agree with your reasoning but why not make it a permanent install on your boat so that you do not need to haul your power source around with you? Just mount your setup in a rod locker or storage compartment.

    How do you charge the battery

    • @jcbassfishingchannel
      @jcbassfishingchannel  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for watching. If you noticed on the video there is a battery charger that I included inside the battery box. At the end of the day, I take the Battery box out to my room or camper and connect it to the wall electricity. It will fully charge the battery in about 4 to 6 hrs. depending on how hard you fished the previous day.
