    This machine basically trades electricity cost and engineering to accomplish technical skill. It certainly isn't the most efficient way to cook, with whole parts needing to turn just to add a little seasoning, but it certainly is an impressive invention. Human ingenuity culminated and overcame the (arguably minor) problem of inconsistency in cooking the same dish.
    I don't think it'll be replacing jobs, but it'll certainly make a lot of catering chefs' jobs easier.

      Well it's interesting, but useless in the restaurant, where you need to cook multiply portion at the same time. And if you just put more ingredients into this machine, some portions will have more vegetable and some more meat and that's unacceptable (except maybe egg fried rice), because every dish must have particular weight per portion of meat, veg, noodles etc. at the same time. You can use this machine only to cook one portion at the time = waste of time and energy.

    There's just something different about cooking by a professional chef who grew up in the rural area vs. a machine producing the same recipe exactly the same way every time, because he understands where those ingredients come from and how they're supposed to be used. I personally don't think a machine will ever be able to replace a mom's homemade recipe. It's the taste of her rough hands and love that was put into that food that a machine will never be able to replace, and it's those exact flaws that a human makes that make you feel you're alive and human too. The biggest difference is one is made with love and emotion, while the other one feels like nothing.
    There's a movie I remember watching in the past where this person creates the perfect AI robot wife and she's this perfect being that doesn't make any flaws. This AI would be able to please him sexually in bed and perform all the intelligence and tasks around the house and just pull any data from the internet on demand. It gets to a point where even the creator can't stand it anymore because he can't have a normal conversation with an AI that never makes a mistake. It just feels fake and unreal and exhausting. A relationship that doesn't have emotion connection or argument is just very unrealistic and fake. At that point, you just feel alone on the inside because the robot can you tell what depression is, but they don't know what that feels like on an emotional connection and struggle to grow old with you.

      I don't think it matters if the food is being cooked, one it is cooked then it matters more. Humans have oils in their hands that contain enzymes that improve the flavor and nutrition the the food. There are many types of these enzymes from nature and they are top secret. Some enzymes only exist in a certain part of the world.

      @@nahimgudfam Thats an interesting theory. I never heard this and will look into it if you're not being sarcastic lol. The reason I thought it was funny was because she used the gloved hand to hold the plate and the ungloved hand for the food. Its backwards by USA standards. Here in this country people are gross and cant be trusted to do simple things like wash their hands after using the bathroom or sneezing. I dont care about enzymes so much as eating people secretions. This would apply to any person in any country too. If it comes out of you I dont want it in me unless I allow it. It will show in flavor and many other ways. Something that a machine can never show. Always remember, cooking comes from deepest feeling from the heart. Each cutting, each sautte, each stir has a deep emotion that will reflect the taste of the dish.

      It probably will sadly. When you think about it, we have so much unemployment and poverty in the world because of the industrial era, machines being by order of magnitudes more performant than our muscles and brain power, tireless, always precise, just requiring to purchase once and do some maintenance from time to time compared to paying a salary, educating and training more workers to do the same job. This machine is simply much more powerful and profitable than our flesh and bones. So this is far from being "ecofriendly", quite the opposite actually and solving issues aside from comfort and productivity for the few privileged ones. This is the reason why we have all of our problems.
      I will always be thankful to the people like you putting dedication and skill to your tasks. Soon the era of machines will come to an end forcefully when we don't have enough energy to power those anymore, which also means economical crisis sadly but hey, we matter more than these pieces of metal. I'd rather be poor and go back to what is fair and make efforts to afford human made food than accept automation of everything.

    Machines like this are interesting, because I feel like they have less of a place in restaurants and more of a place in like a celebrity home to replace an at home chef. I really feel like these are ideal for people who don't know how/don't have the time to cook and they really nail that need.
    I'm sure some restaurants can utilize these without an issue, but I don't know if I see them being mass scale without being specialized for the industry they're in, for example a machine for sushi, a machine for burgers etc.
    Fantastic inventions though!

      That's kinda what I was thinking. These are doubtlessly fabulously expensive, and they look like they take up an enormous amount of space. That doesn't look practical unless on an industrial scale or in a private wealthy home. In the middle, like any kind of normal restaurant, not so much. Perhaps ... as a dedicated machine for doing things like sauces that are very time-consuming and which you could then fridge/freeze and put on many different dishes. A helpmate, rather than start-to-finish, one dish at a time thingy.

      @@dingfeldersmurfalot4560 So I was thinking about space quite a bit, and really I don’t think it takes much more space than an oven really. For people who don’t bake it would be a really solid alternative.

      @@dingfeldersmurfalot4560 There`s definitely a place... Just probably not a place in a very high end restaurant. Right now having lived in Dubai and Sao Paulo... Its easy to see applications in eateries, cafe`s and bakeries in those two cities. Right now thinking about an application in Dubai Marina where its a very international neighborhood and a eatery can crank out somewhat authentic food using authentic recipes and a staff that only has to pull pre-cut pieces out of the fridge... Takes up a lot of space but if I can replace my entire kitchen with 3 or 4 of these machines, cleaning and basic prep space, I`ve got a kitchen turning out decent good food, quickly with a Starbucks staff. Also with the rise of delivery and ghost kitchens... If the long term operating cost are not so terrible then they`ve got a winner here.

    They already have this for pizza and surprisingly there has been no massive layoff of pizza makers. Even worse, it’s an automated pizza maker.

    • @hxhdfjifzirstc894
      @hxhdfjifzirstc894 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      From my experience, a person can make a pizza faster than a machine... starting from just a dough ball. Think about it. I've knocked on people's doors (with a hot pizza) FIFTEEN MINUTES (sometimes as fast as 12 minutes) after they ordered it. You can't barely cook a frozen pizza in fifteen minutes, and that doesn't count the time I'd spend driving to their house. For example, it takes about 1-2 minutes to assemble an average pizza, 6 minutes to cook, and after that, it's all delivery time.
      Trying to automate the part of the process that only takes people 1-2 minutes to do is stupid. Especially because it has to be done precisely, for several reasons (quality, costs, consistency, etc.). Note here, the prep and mise en place are still done by a person. THIS is the part that should be automated, for efficiency. Any idiot can toss a pan and stir until a timer beeps.

    I can see this if there is mass quantities of a certain base/side of food that is popular and therefore it is a lot easier to cook it in the AI machine, freeing the Chef and crew for other culinary delights that takes the human touch.

You need one technician every year at most, it's far more profitable than tens, hundreds or even thousands of workers. When you understand this order of magnitude, you understand why this is far from "ecofriendly" or solving issues like poverty, it's in fact the reason why we have these problems.

    • @RonJeremy514
      @RonJeremy514 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @Punch Down King It is though. Every technological aspect of life is machinery, we live in the industrial era since two centuries. Your food, your clothing, your house/appartment, your tools (even basic ones like hammers and pens), your phone, your sink, your toothpaste, everything is made out of machines powered by tremendous amounts of very efficient energies like oil, gas, coal. Which is why there is a huge inflation problem in western countries recently due to energy shortage and wars. There is always at least an ounce of plastic (derivatives of petrol chemistry subproducts) in everything you possess as of now. Almost every modern material and technological improvement is made possible because of the involvement of petrol, water and metals prospected by a petrol-powered machine vastly more efficient than the human piloting said machine.
