When Tom Dunphy was killed on July 29th 1975, two days later the Miami Showband were attacked by terrorist which saw 3 members of the group loose their lives. A sad time for the Irish Showband scene. May they Rest In Peace.
Tom Dunphy was with the royal from 1957 in the classic lineup alongside Brendan Boyer right through the 1960s .Tom sang lead on the royals first record come down the mountain Katie Daly in 1962 ,the first record issued by an Irish showband.
