Thank you , I want one of these motor bikes ! I'm 62years have wanted a Trials bike for 40 years ! Live in Canada, British Columbia , great place for one of these Babies ! Thanks again for sharing the VID. Gerald Woodward
you got it I would buy 1 if I was loaded just for an extra bike for some 1 to ride etcetc I would take it out to of course but when I seen all the maintenance even the oil change`s its just as much or more than a 2 stroke which you would think shouldn't be
@@mike300406 see I used to think that but all 2t bikes eventually required a complete rebuild due to wear.. mains and big end don't have the benefit of a lovely oil sump to keep em well lubed. I've done too many to count. Next bike is a mont see how I get on with it
(I looked it up) it is a low compression bike vs. others and that is why there is no high end speed. It only needs to make you move vs. take off on the slopes...
hey stive i have honda montesa4rt260 i dont have tank . i want to change the look my plans is card look my problem is i dont have fuel pump of honda montesa and i dont have pgi box what is the similar parts to install for pgi box and fuel pump
We used Pro X conrod for a CRF250X supplied by Ecosse MX who sell on ebay.Honda don't supply a conrod separately ,its a complete crank from them.If you bend the rod then you will have buckled the piston skirt too.New piston required. All parts used were genuine Honda other than the rod.
Steven = vertical clime is not bike power it is momentum. Power is there to get momentum. Also I wonder what gearing has to do with it... since a big sprocket in the back can fix torque issue.
Hydro locked is when a engine has a liquid in the top end which will not compress resulting in the engine not being able to turn over and usually causes damage such as you see here (bent rod) a cracked cylinder ,head or gasket failure can cause this problem as well as the engine sucking in water through if the carb becomes submerged
@@jvboy56 But, how did these get hydro locked? Once had a riding partner in an enduro that sunk his OSSA Plonker in a stream and we had to turn it upside down once on the banks, remove the plug, and turn over and over til it was relieved enough. Was a bugger to restart but he went on to finish w/no rod damage.
Rod from a CR250! call Micky Oats in Glasgow, tell him you need the same parts for a rebuild, same as the Dundee guy's, he's a fine guy, and will have the parts listed........ 0141 332 7374, we ended up changing the piston too, as there was a little slap we couldn't live with?

How many hours can be expected on the Honda engine before it’s rebuilt? Considering proper maintenance is done?
Ever........ we had to do this, these bikes run for ever
@@OldbrokenbonesI just bought a 2018 Honda Monty with less than 200 miles on it, time to get cracking!
Good old honda engines.... never fail
Hello. How often do you have to replace the piston and rings in this engine? Greetings from Poland.
One reason why I hate 4stroke engines, good job on the rebuild 👍 only smokers for me cheaper and easier to fix

Alex noes his way around these bikes
good work Alex,

never thought I would ses such a short stroke how does it run some 1 told me its like a vibration
No it's fine...... smooth with shit loads of torque
Or a short piston!
how did it hydro lock-blown head gasket or drowned in a puddle, creek ect.?
Crossing a river, fine at the start but got deep at the other side : (
Just drowned my 4rt!
Did you replace the rod?If so what make and part no and where did you get it from?
Thanks.

How do you get on with the handlebar tank? Does the siphon work ok?
Siphon works fine, im running a 3 litre acerbic tank ,Clark has my "spare" 1 litre tank.
Like a dream
what is the top speed of those bikes?
On a good day 55mph...
Steven = it is funny It got so slow top speed as 250cc. A 125cc regular 4Stroke bike can 110km/h top.
It's down to gearing and the purpose it was built for, I'd like to see anything else ride up a near vertical waterfall..........
Steven = vertical clime is not bike power it is momentum. Power is there to get momentum. Also I wonder what gearing has to do with it... since a big sprocket in the back can fix torque issue.
great film thanks
what means Hydro Locked Engine ? thank's

Buen trabajo :)
valves sound loose.
What dreadful music!!!!!!
Nice!
Probs best not to rev a cold engine that's just been rebuilt.
Yep! we cheated and had it warmed up first : )
Steven Clark oh aha ..
Buen honda ko uda
