It will be interesting to see what Interactive or multimedia assets actually work when the canva document is exported to PDF. I think to be a huge game changer would be if you could export your Canva document as an EPUB3 file.

How would I create pages with margins and page sizes if I want to write a book in Docs? Is it even possible yet? Without the options to spellcheck, format a page with alternate outside and gutter margins, indenting, and I could go on. Instead, it appears to be nothing more than a PDF designer or alternative to PowerPoint. Let's see what happens. Also, when using Magic Write, if I was to type in, let's say, knitting. Magic Write might give me a paragraph of engaging text, but if someone else somewhere else types in knitting, will they get the same section of text or pretty much. The reason I ask is due to the chance of plagiarism.

I believe Canva's vision for Docs is not so much to come up with a solution for creating books and documents to be printed, but rather to have a great way to design visual documents that will live online. But I might be wrong, or they might do both 🤔 Let's give it a few months and see what document types they come up with under Docs. This is only the beginning. And about Magic Write: I believe you'll be given different results every time to enter a query. I already tried that and got different results. Also, I wouldn't just type "Knitting" as my query. I would write something more detailed and precise like: Write me a blog post about knitting for beginners" or something like that. Let's keep an 👀 on Docs and see where they are going 😉

@@TeamRonDi thanks. The only work around was to keep downloading it and making changes to the spacing and adding in an image at the bottom of the page with white space like a mandala or something. I like docs but it seems difficult 😃
We’re not quite there… there’ll always be a spot for these softwares. What Canva is doing is trying to build a complete suite to help us communicate visually 😊
This might sound ignorant of me, but I'm not sure if they're going to be competition for Google docs, don't get me wrong I love canva but I imagine Google would likely try to partner with them. canva is becoming a one-stop shop for a lot of things. I hope in the future there is a way to separate the type of projects.

wud like to know...in the element creator's dashboard, under this month's 'my performance', it shows 238 "APPLIES" and 105 "EXPORTS" what r these applies and exports? Is it that the no: of times the other people used my element?..... ...another thing is that it shows I have "so and so" royalty amnt.....but the individual sales is zero....what shud v do to make individual sales? ...yet another thing is that.... Once it is 10 dollar or above, after 15 th of each month, canva transfers the amt to the bank....my question is if I don't have a bank a/c, will that amt or the growing amount b still there until I open a bank a/c no matter how many months or even years pass by? Or is it that... if canva is not able to transfer the amt b'coz of the lack of the payout method selection.....wud they cancel the amt....and if so how long will they wait till they decide to cancel the amt?

Forgot to rename the graphic and pulled out a recent graphic I had made. The second I pulled out the old graphic I realized my mistake, but it was too late. Now I had two "old graphics" and the new one I had just created and saved was gone ... 😞 I would like to be able to open documents without Canva saving automatically. How can I deactivate automatic saving?
I don’t think you can deactivate auto save. Pro users will have access to a feature called “Version history” that allows you to go back to previous versions (save points) of your designs.
I absolutely love Canva! I have been using Affinity prodcuts and started with Canva about six months ago and have been on a creative mission. Love they are constantly innovating!
Hi Ronny, I'm crazy learning about using tools like Canva (new user - Premium User) your videos are so useful and I'm progressing learning so much with every thousands of tips that you're gave us. I have learned and used google docs, Apple Pages Word and other similars for taking notes like Notion, will be really useful to have pages + split each other because if you want to create a new title in documents you have to calculate or to make a preview of the whole document. This feature will be nice to comment to development people, don't you think so? thanks for your help.

Can't figure out how to add a new page in Canva Docs. I see on the help tool in the bottom corner to click the symbol for a new page, but the symbol doesn't appear anywhere on the page. When you download it into a PDF, it'll separate pages on its own, but no clear indicator where one page ends and another begins.

There's tons of bugs in Canva Docs, especially on mobile. I have contacted them about this, and they have acknowledged. I'm not sure if it's even worth speaking about this feature until it's fixed. I told them I'm testing this out on pc now and will find out if or what is buggy on there.
Bare in mind this is the very beginning of this product, so be patient. I think they have a viable MVP and it was time for them to put it out there. After all, that's the only way they will get feedback which will allow them to improve the product. It's a necessary evil.
I'm late but I just heard the news about Canva Docs today and I must say that it seems like it's actually answering VERY WELL to a big need I've been having for a while. As a mentor, I'm creating A LOT of documents for my clients and I was always struggling to find which tool I should use : Notion Pdf exporting feature can generate pretty unexpected results, Google doc is quite limited designwise and not the smoothest to use and Canva has the biggest potentiel in terms of visual results but is sooo constraining, it really feels like using the wrong tool to create visually enhanced text documents... But now, with Canva docs, it looks like the game has changed and I cannot wait to use it! 🤩
You summed it up beautifully Letizia 👌 I completely agree (though I haven’t yet tried Notion), and Canva Docs, if executed correctly, has the potential to become our go-to solution for visual docs.
If they include an integrated text-to-speech function, like MS Word’s amazing Read Aloud, then Canva Docs is going to be my default. Also, if they include fiction book templates where we can add beautiful illustrations to our chapter opening pages, wow! That would be a winner. I know, fiction novels are very long documents, so I don’t have high hopes. I also know accessibility isn’t the first thought for a “visual platform” so again, no high hopes, but maybe. Canva is my favorite platform so there is room to dream.

Since you are an affiliate - and I don't know where to add suggestions, lol - I think it would be helpful to be able to enable showing printing guides to see where the page will cut off if it needs to be taken out of Canva or printed. The only setting I see is to show the page layout or not. Am I missing something?

I agree, this issue needs to be fixed and Canva has to acknowledge people are going to still want to print their documents.
I'm experiencing the same problem as well. It's so hard to see the page break. It's time consuming constantly adding space and blanks.
If Canva can replace MS Excel/Google Sheets/Numbers/Smartsheet/AirTable, then I'm all in!!!!

Since Canva Docs are not made to be printed, they don't have this simple feature. All you can do is leave some space.

Canva Doc arrived today for me (school license). I would like to convert things already created in canva to DOC. How can I do ?
I'm afraid you can't do that. OR maybe with Magic Resize? Have you tried "Resize" > "Docs" ?
