Welcome aboard, kerrymac1. You are embarking on (along with many others) an awesome hard-rock journey with 5 incredible women. Here's my intro blurb for those who may be new to Band-Maid:
BAND-MAID’s songs and sound beat with the heart and soul of rock n’ rollers. But you’ll also hear heavy influences of Punk, Metal and Pop, with nice touches of Blues, Funk and Grunge. Sometimes they use multiple genres within the same song. Their Composition, Execution, Consistency (nearly 100 songs with new album, “Conqueror”), Uniqueness, Charisma, Charm and, oh yeah, Cuteness factor, position them as becoming the hard rock Beatles of our time! In other words, they’re destine for mega-stardom. Each member's personalities are super interesting and their musicianship among the best. Their writing, arrangements and overall sound, especially guitar tones and drums, are kick-ass! Having seen them LIVE, I can honestly say their performance, sound, stage appearance, and band synergy is off the rails spectacular. Band-Maid is the only band in decades where I love nearly EVERY song they’ve done. I have over 50 favorites! "Thrill" is a great place to start: th-cam.com/video/Uds7g3M-4lQ/w-d-xo.html Their later songs drive even more - Rin’ne, Blooming, Moratorium, Domination, Clang, Dice, Spirit, Turn Me On, Fate, Play, Hide-And-Seek, Secret My Lips, Puzzle, Glory, Choose Me, and on and on. But don’t miss out on their powerful, beautifully written slower tunes like Daydreaming, Anemone, Endless Story and Smile... or more punky like Don’t Let Me Down and Screaming… or funky like Bubble… or bluesy like The Dragon Cries… or poppy like Start Over… or cultural like the Band-Maiko series! And many are represented with over 20 well produced music videos. th-cam.com/users/BANDMAID Most performances should be experienced from their LIVE concerts such as ZEPP 2018, Shinkiba Studio Coast 2017 and some of the better 2019 tour Fan vids. Thank you for taking a look at Band-Maid and like your reaction. As another old school rock guy (started with Buddy, Elvis, Jerry lee and Little Richard in the 50's) it's amazing that these 5 young ladies can recapture the feelings that I had back in the day to what rock was all about, great songs, excellent musicians and a real joy at doing what they love. This is by far the best rock band I've heard in the past 40 years. I had all but given up on the current music here in the US (with some notable exceptions), but after discovering what Japan was putting out, I was astonished at the diversity and depth of their music that surpasses anything I've heard here (wish I had discovered this much earlier). There's a lot of great bands from Japan that are worth listening to and you'll get a lot of suggestions, so don't be shy at trying them out.
Welcome to the world of Band Maid. This was their lastest single of their newly released album "Conqueror". They are a super talented hard/heavy rock band where each member brings their own huge talent to form this..........musical entity, to the point where each member of the band is irreplaceable to the bands sound and direction. I've been listening to these ladies for a couple of years now and I LOVE watching peoples reactions to them. Here are some more clips to check out from one the finest rock bands on the planet. First get sucked in by the cutesy outfits and then get spit out by the raw power these women deliver. I know them about 5 Years now ! They are all absolute pro´s !! A 5-string bass instant sledge, a stealth shredder on lead guitar and a re-incarnated John Bonham. A fat meat ryhtm guitar and the iron butterfly voice.
About the rockers of old: Tony Visconti (producer - and occasionnal bassplayer - for David Bowie, T-Rex, Thin Lizzy or Stranglers to name only a few) recently get in touch with Band-Maid, asking to produce a song; which they did - Saiki and Miku went to New York to record - and rewrite - the vocals for their song "The Dragon Flies" for their last album; then Tony went to their New-York concert and was amazed by their live perfromance. Obviously, they stay in contact so maybe we'll have more songs produced by him in the future.
Well Kerrymac1 if you wondered where Rock n' Roll was, it's in the very talented and beautiful hands of 5 Japanese ladies. Their fan is huge and growing. The band was put together by Miku, rhythm guitar, vocals, primary lyricist and spoke-pigeon. She discovered Kanami, lead guitarist on the internet playing her own songs. Kanami contacted Akene, drummer, who then called MISA (always in Caps) who she had played with. They write and arrange their own songs and their catalog is extensive. They toured Europe and the US last year, all were sellouts. They are signed with Live Nation so I expect they will tour the US and Europe this year also. Missed them last year here in LA, but not this year!!
At what they do, yes - but there are loads more great Japanese Metal bands - Aldious, Ningen Isu, Lovebites, Maximum The Hormone, Galneryus, Doll$boxx, Mary's Blood, Scandal...
Great reaction. I like it. I think that Band Maid is the best heavy rock band in this moment. Very talented young women creating powerful songs. Please continue to react Band Maid. Will be a wonderful journey....
Most enjoyable band I've seen live in the last 40 years or so. So much chemistry together and they make hard rock look effortless. Got to check out their live vids. Try Moratorium or Real Existence for a good idea of what they can do!
The best damn hard rock band on the planet who just happen to come from Japan. Jimmy Page after watching Band-Maid perform in Tokyo in 2016 requested to meet Akane the drummer. They were photographed together. In the dressing room Akane at first thought it was a joke that Jimmy Page-san was requesting to meet her.
This is one of their more mid range songs. They can get real heavy and also do some softer stuff and ballads. And the go through so many different signatures and styles. They are by far one of the most talented bands I've seen. Please jump down the rabbit hole with them. Maybe try don't you tell me (live), play (live), moratorium (live), onset (live, it's an instrumental), dice, choose me, you, dont let me down, take me higher, puzzle and anemone (live acoustic). I found them only a few months ago and I have absolutely fallen in love with them. Thanks man
I'm an admire of hard-rock bands, Van Hallen, Journey... all styles, metal, hardcore, etc., i love it. So they said that rock is dead and can't improve, and i was falling apart into that speach... Well, here comes the day that i was seaching for Domination by Pantera (one of my favorites of all times) and i've found Domination by Band-Maid, results: love at first sight. These musicians can really kick some asses and make the real deal, they proves that there's no line on rock, just fun, good songs and passion for what you do. See ya.
As great as this is, these ladies excel live. One of the tightest live bands I've seen. With that being said: Band Maid - PLAY (live) You will NOT be disappointed.
I would recommend checking out onset live which is an instrumental, and moratorium live. And they are a hard rock band more then kawaii metal cause they dont rely on a gimmick and actually play there own instruments. Glad you enjoyed the song 👍
You can't pigeonhole BAND-MAID, except for Miku, she's a pigeon. They have a wide range of influences Hard Rock, Soft Rock, Funk, Punk Power Pop, Jazz and Metal. There's really nothing they can't play. So seek and ye shall find, songs you like and songs you love! More BAND-MAID, please.
@@kerrymac1 The rhythm guitarist/band founder, who is also the front person for the band in interviews and stuff, is named Miku Kobato. Kobato sounds like "small pigeon" in Japanese. ("Ko" means small. For example, a dog is "inu" and a puppy is "koinu." "Hato" means pigeon.) Because of this, Miku has, bizarrely but to great entertainment value, taken to pretending to be a pigeon by saying "po," which is the sound a pigeon makes, after everything she says. She only does this comedic bit in her public capacity as front person (she's not actually crazy), but it makes for some very funny interviews.
Oh man, their live stuff brother!!! Might I suggest Don't You Tell Me live!! There's a tasty call and repeat breakdown between the Bass (MISA) and lead Kanami. 😉🤘🤘
Excellent reaction! New sub. Funny you mentioned the rockers of old (or old rockers?). Jimmy Page has seen these ladies play live and said the drummer of Band Maid is one of the best drummers he's seen in a long time. This coming from a guy who was in a band with the late, great John Bonham. They're much better live. So if you react to another one, I'd recommend one of their live clips. You'll get a lot of suggestions, and they're all good as these ladies don't have a bad song in their catalog. But I'll throw a link to one of my favorites below. Alone (live): th-cam.com/video/cFuklNAIKB8/w-d-xo.html
Jimmy Page witnessed a live show of Band-Maid and wanted to meet afterwards the drummer Akane implicity. That shows you how good they are. This is a picture of the meeting: www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/bjs0qq/jimmy_page_just_after_seeing_the_band_play_in/
A solo interview with Misa , the bassist of Band-Maid . She talks about rock musics that she has been listening to since childhood. th-cam.com/video/nuP2K9-jlts/w-d-xo.html
Avenged Sevenfold is also one of my favorite bands and this particular song definitely rivals one of their best. Their guitarist, Kanami, has as much star power as Synyster Gates.
Well, Band Maid don´t fall in the category of "kawaii metal", in fact i think only babymetal fall in this category. Anyway, the all-female band in Japan aren´t a new vogue, they have bands like this for a long time, but maybe they aren´t well known. The oldest i can remember now can be Shonen Knife, a punk-rock band from Osaka who starts in 1981 and they continue on stages (their singer is 59 and still rocking), you also have Scandal, a rock band from 2006 still active. In the metal meadland maybe one of the most famous precursors are Aldious, a power metal band (still active) from 2008. Now that i´m thinking... all of them are from Osaka, maybe they put something in the water ❓. More recently you can find bands like Lovebites, another power metal band who starts in 2016 and before them part of this band was in another all female metal band: Destrose (those from Tokyo) and i´m only talking about some all female bands, there´s a lot more of course. Japan have a very active and powerful community in rock and metal, but they aren not much known in the west. Just remember the "father of all the metal in Japan": X-Japan, and incredible band who changes the music scene in Japan in the 80th, and there´s really a lot more bands. But well, the music a lot of people knows are the Jpop with huge groups of 20, 30 o even 48 girls with poppy songs, but there´s a lot more, believe me. Band Maid have a huge success recently but they are only the tip of the iceberg of Japan music. Babymetal, no intention to offend are a fun thing, innovative, hard workers and talented people but they are really a product from an idol business. Don´t get me wrong, they are really good but... they aren´t really a good example of Japan´s rock and metal scene, they are more like an exception.
As a Japanese, I'm a 70-year-old senior, but the rock soul is still alive. I've known Band Maid for a long time, but in the songs he's not as good as Baby Metal and he's definitely biased towards Baby Metal. To be clear, it belongs to a huge amuse entertainment, Unfortunately for band maid, for activities only in small productions To be clear, even in stage capacity, he has a difference in Baby Metal !! It may be difficult to understand because of google translate.
Since you seem to be on a world wide girl rock adventure, why not take a peak south of the U.S. border. The Warning is a group of teen sisters from Mexico that have some really bangin' tunes.I you would consider looking at them Dust to Dust live at Lunario is a real rocker with a really nice bass intro. My personal favorite is The End also live at Lunario. It's more of a power ballad. The usual lead singer is the guitar player, but the drummer sings both of these. Thanks for reading it you made it this far. I get carried away.☺
Have you heard The Warning? More teen girls that are saving rock 'n' roll -- this time from Mexico but they sing in English, and they're sisters. They went viral 5 or 6 years ago with their Enter Sandman (Metallica) cover. This is Dust to Dust from their concept album Queen of the Murder Scene: th-cam.com/video/TeIbG8nkOiU/w-d-xo.html
Well, I was born 1962 and have watched all the famouse Rock- and Metal-bands rising and the downswing. There is no morea real good and famous Rock-Band in the western hemisphere ( I don't count the old bands now, who are still playing. There is nothing new from them, playing only the good old stuff ). Only some small bands like Halestorm, but they will no more have that rise and breakthrough. The taste of music has changed here. Let's go east, there are so many super bands, like Bandmaid, Aldiouse, Mary's Blood etc, etc.. Honestly, english speaking people may have a problem, because they do not understand the Lyrics. OK, I have not that problem, I'm German and although I can understand and speak English very well, it was sometimes hard to understand the american/english bands. But at the end, no matter if you can understand the lyrics ( if you are interested, you can get the translations easily....mostly ), you should taste the music and the sound and you will come to the conclution, that this japanese bands are awesome.
You might get a kick out of band Heilung. They are an experimental folk band that put on some pretty good shows. I picked up two of there albums and enjoyed both of them. I recommend starting with one of their popular songs Krigsgaldr off the Lifa album. Check out live version. GO Chiefs! Sorry._. I have $50 bones on the game.
Please react to more bandmaid, the fans will be pouring in soon with all the details about the band 🌺 Please react to Moratorium Live ( Zepp) - hard rock Daydreaming MV - Easy Listening Otther Japanese bands you can check out are Lovebites Bridear Bish Aimer My First Story One OK Rock Undead Corporation
Don't "Pigeonhole" ourselves? Dude, you don't know it yet, but the founder of Band-Maid, is a pigeon. KOBATO Miku. She's the one with the red flower in her hair. Kobato sounds like the Japanese word for small pidgeon, or something close.
Next you should consider The Warning Band and either one of their excellent songs Dust to Dust or The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade) from their stunning album Queen of the Murder Scene
@@kerrymac1 From the opening jaw dropping bass line of Dust to Dust to the tear inducing heart-wrenching ballad of The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade) there is something in this album for every rock fan. It's a concept album that tells a story of longing, regret, self-loathing and follows a woman into full on psychosis. It's a musical journey delivered by 3 prodigies. Give it a listen in order
ever heard of the GazettE ? it's a Visual Kei band, style is like Metalcore, Nu Metal, J-Rock, things like that. try their song... Deux. i think it would be a good start
Thank you for nice reaction. I recommend Live "Turn Me On" (Zepp Tokyo) th-cam.com/video/KOtHLjV5cNo/w-d-xo.html "DICE" (MV) & "YOLO"(MV) th-cam.com/video/ZpAYnVJX9CY/w-d-xo.html th-cam.com/video/wKZbzcUdY1g/w-d-xo.html "On set" (Live) th-cam.com/video/ud0pxII3YwM/w-d-xo.html "Don't you tell ME" (Live) th-cam.com/video/foqErbEw05o/w-d-xo.html
They may be kawai AF but they do not Play metal ... nor kawai. They Play solid Hard Rock. There is a bit of a over lap between Babymetal & Band Maid but they do not Play The same genres
Pardon my input but I would suggest that you increase the sound of the video or whatever you are reacting to; and minimize yourself and enlarge the video too. Keep on reacting; I don't think Band-Maid has a bad song. The only title I object to is "No God", but that's because I'm and evangelical Christian.

Most enjoyable band I've seen live in the last 40 years or so. So much chemistry together and they make hard rock look effortless. Got to check out their live vids. Try Moratorium or Real Existence for a good idea of what they can do!
Thanks for the suggestions :) I will put them on my list and thanks for watching!
Thanks Kerry! Great song and reaction. I love the Maidens!
Thanks! Glad you liked it. Keep watching!
They're "maids". The Maidens are a totally different thing altogether.
Dam the Jig is up!!!
There are many more songs by this great group to tap into !
I have quite a few on the list. keep watching!
Can't miss with Jimmy Page liking you!
*Make love to us BAND-MAID!*
BAND-MAID ranges from pop rock - hard rock they flirt with metal but havent quite crossed that line into metal
Yeah, I would consider them more on the hard rock side than metal, really. Whatever it is, I dig it!
Thanks man
Thanks for the suggestions :) I have most of these on my list already, but keep watching!
Thank you great reaction. More Band maid please.
Plenty more on the way! Keep watching!
One of the best female rock band on the planet right now (or probably the best). Next please react to Rinne/Reincarnation. Such a great song!!
That one is on my list already. Stay tuned!
See ya.
They indeed rock! \m/
As great as this is, these ladies excel live. One of the tightest live bands I've seen. With that being said:
Band Maid - PLAY (live)
You will NOT be disappointed.
That one is on my list already. Stay tuned!
I would recommend checking out onset live which is an instrumental, and moratorium live. And they are a hard rock band more then kawaii metal cause they dont rely on a gimmick and actually play there own instruments. Glad you enjoyed the song 👍
So far, I like them a lot! Thanks for the suggestion!
There are photographs of Band Maid and Rick Nelson, and one of Jimmy Page and the drummer Akane.
Old and lame rockers like me LOVE BAND-MAID.
So far, I dig them!
Ok, I laughed at that pigeon joke. Take my like.
Someday I will understand the pigeon reference. LOL
Love your "Billy and the Boingers" Tee shirt....
LOL. Thanks, I like it too!
🤘🤘❤️🤘🤘 MISA MISA MISA!!!! 🤘🤘
Oh man, their live stuff brother!!! Might I suggest Don't You Tell Me live!! There's a tasty call and repeat breakdown between the Bass (MISA) and lead Kanami. 😉🤘🤘
Oh and Jimmy Page gave his personal Kudos in person to Akanae the drummer too!!
Jimmy Page is an excellent endorsement, for sure! Thanks for the suggestion :) I will put it on my list and thanks for watching!
Japan did the same thing with cars .. We taught them how, they commercialized it ... Awesome either way ..
I dig it!
@@kerrymac1 those are the guys playing in babymetal at that time
Minchoooooooooo!🤩
Excellent reaction! New sub. Funny you mentioned the rockers of old (or old rockers?). Jimmy Page has seen these ladies play live and said the drummer of Band Maid is one of the best drummers he's seen in a long time. This coming from a guy who was in a band with the late, great John Bonham. They're much better live. So if you react to another one, I'd recommend one of their live clips. You'll get a lot of suggestions, and they're all good as these ladies don't have a bad song in their catalog. But I'll throw a link to one of my favorites below.

Ugh. NOT a Dane Cook fan. Sorry!
Jimmy Page is a good endorsement, for sure!
@@kerrymac1 ??????????
@@DavidMISAMISAMISACook oops. Read it too fast. I thought he was quoting Dane Cook. Sorry!
Jimmy Page witnessed a live show of Band-Maid and wanted to meet afterwards the drummer Akane implicity. That shows you how good they are.
This is a picture of the meeting: www.reddit.com/r/BandMaid/comments/bjs0qq/jimmy_page_just_after_seeing_the_band_play_in/
Can't beat a endorsement from Jimmy Page. Doesn't get much more rock-royal than that!
A solo interview with Misa , the bassist of Band-Maid .
She talks about rock musics that she has been listening to since childhood.

Avenged Sevenfold is also one of my favorite bands and this particular song definitely rivals one of their best. Their guitarist, Kanami, has as much star power as Synyster Gates.
I only know of one Avenged Sevenfold song, so I would love to discover more of them. Any suggestions?
Didn't know Shonen Knife were still together. 🤘
@@ChrisPage68 Oh yes, they even release a new album last June
Yeah, I've re-listened to them a couple of times and I can see the difference. Thanks for the other suggestions!
As a Japanese, I'm a 70-year-old senior, but the rock soul is still alive. I've known Band Maid for a long time, but in the songs he's not as good as Baby Metal and he's definitely biased towards Baby Metal.
To be clear, it belongs to a huge amuse entertainment,
Unfortunately for band maid, for activities only in small productions
To be clear, even in stage capacity, he has a difference in Baby Metal !!
I have The Warning on my list already. Stay tuned!
The Warning is on my list already. Stay Tuned!
What are you doing? Type "Band Maid live" on a search engine and randomly pick a video. Their live versions are awesome.
I have many of their live songs on my list. Keep watching! :)
Unlike Baby Metal, these ladies play their own instruments ! No dis respect to Baby Metal! They both Rock! As does Love Bites! More, More!
Who would've thunk it??
Band maid/Babymetal gets lots of views for a good reason. Both top of there game.
I dig them!
Congrats on winning $50. I was rooting for them too!
I will check out Hellung. Thanks for the suggestion!

Don't "Pigeonhole" ourselves? Dude, you don't know it yet, but the founder of Band-Maid, is a pigeon. KOBATO Miku. She's the one with the red flower in her hair. Kobato sounds like the Japanese word for small pidgeon, or something close.
She's a pigeon? Ok, i hope that makes more sense in the future.
Check out The Warning a power trio of teenage sisters out of Mexico. There my other favorite new rock band.
I have them on my list. Keep watching!
Next you should consider The Warning Band and either one of their excellent songs Dust to Dust or The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade) from their stunning album Queen of the Murder Scene
Thanks for the suggestion :) I will put it on my list and thanks for watching!
@@kerrymac1 From the opening jaw dropping bass line of Dust to Dust to the tear inducing heart-wrenching ballad of The End (Stars Always Seem to Fade) there is something in this album for every rock fan.

Thanks for the suggestion! I am always trying to make my videos better, so I appreciate the input. :)
