I remember back in 6th grade when our teachers showed us this video on a large screen we weren't in our usual classrooms we were in another room just right next to my said classroom. I remember looking in awe as the guy plays the violin. Glad I was able to find this video after all these years.

I want to learn to play the violin but I have no clue where to start :/ and chances are I won't be able to afford one,>.
You should start by getting a teacher and a few beginner books. Also, you can always rent if you're worried about long-time commitment. There's always cheaper violins, the cheapest usually around 400 dollars or so. :)
I just started my first violin lesson 5 months ago when I was 30. The weekly 30-minute lesson is not that expensive. The price is from 20-40$/lesson.
Just learn for entertainment, to master the violin it required talent and time. I don't have talent but I have time to practice 1hour/week. I feel good about it!
P/s: I work 70 hours/week, go to school 15 hours/week, walk my dog 2hours/day, driving for work 1.5hours/day!!!

Why not, get started! I started 2 years ago when I was 67 years old. Its never to late if your goal is not to become a famous consert violinist! You need a teacher, if you don't you will develop some wrong habits that could be difficult to change later. If you buy a violin get something for at least 400 - 500 USD. A good store will always trade it in for a more expensive one later. I bought my 1st violin 2 years ago for 550 USD, but a year ago I bought a much better one for 4000 USD, and a carbon fibre bow ( appr 110 USD) But you could always rent an instrument. I practice appr 2 hours every day!

I suspect this fine young musician knows the words to the song he is playing. Most songs today are monotonous simple chorus repeated over and over, but if you know the words to the song you can get the nuances that make it come alive otherwise it is just imitating. It's true for songs of older generations too, btw: If you want to play with soul, learn the words to the melodies, then you will get that song in your heart. I'm learning Violin these days, at 76, and hope to be fairly good by next year. I play mostly older tunes from the Sinatra, Billy Holiday, Beatles days.

Oh wow sorry if that caused anyone confusion O.O I guess some people have difficulty understanding English when it's not exact. When you read and write it your *whole* life you can still understand the meaning of the sentence when someone makes a typo. Oh I fixed the typo and added a comma for correct punctuation as to not distract from the music or confuse anyone. I was enjoying the music. Enjoy the music!
