Here's another fun fact about Kiyohime's final spell card: Watch Jaimers' video of Impossible Spell Card Reverse. Skip to 5:16. Now compare that attack with the first phase of Border of Rainbow.
Oh, man, I know you never failed to amuse us with all your guided tours. Excellent examples includes comments during Kiyo's first non ("Kiyo herself only shoots aimed rings because she's also Junko" (And I thought RSS was released before LoLK! XD)), Elemental Blast ("Party over here, party over there, aaand party's over"), Doujouji's Flame Dragon Scroll ("Force + Explode + Tornado = Summon Dragon" (What's this, Copy Kitty? XD)), BoR phase three ("And then we start playing Marine Benefit for some reason"), and just after capturing BoR ("Oh look, eleven spell cards later I scratched her bell a little. Jerk"). Waiting a good three hours for the vid to buffer on a 64 kbps connection (I quickly ordered a 360 pixel quality because I'm finicky with seeing danmaku on low resolution blurs) is DEFINITELY WORTH IT. And yes, while Yato's ultimate is highly flavorful despite its length (because it has a clear thematic reason: it's her idea of a Three Regalia Salute, in sync with the Stage Four, Five, and Six bosses' theme of the Three Regalia (themed on the sword, magatama, and mirror, respectively)), Kiyo's ultimate ... is long for the sake of it (I've never heard of onmyoudou practicioners having much messing with rainbows). And most of her attacks that uses flashy arrowheads should still be thematically fitting without the flash, while giving the system less strain. (Yes, I'm looking at you, Abyssal Danmaku Barrier~)
Vierne, I like you funny comments a lot!!) Especially mentioning similar looking character/game patterns "because she is Junko", "she is Mima and Yukari", "And now we play Marine Benefit for some reason". Now I like to watch you replays more than Jaimers' ones! p.s. noticed that Skypiercer said the first part much better than me XD
+Regent2203 Thank you! I always wonder if my videos are good enough, either from a gameplay perspective or an entertainment perspective, so seeing comments like this is really gratifying.
Any plans to redo Overdrive to play the version that includes all stages? If I recall correctly you said you were thinking of doing a run with a shot type other than FutoC, anyway.
+KarisaMirisame I thought about it, but it comes down to this--I can't run Abyssal Danmaku Barrier at speed even without recording. That's breaks the deal for me; I don't want to say I beat something because it was lagging beyond all reason. So instead, have an Overdrive Tier List, made by someone who's tried most of these shot types maybe once or twice. *FutoC - Wind breaks the game. Learn when to switch it on and off and you can turtle your way through the game. Good point-blank damage during bombs if it comes down to it. *MarisaC - One of the few good ways to spawn camp in Overdrive. Bosses basically require you to pay your way through in bombs, but you should be picking up enough life fragments that it shouldn't matter. *ReimuA - Has no options for big damage but still does well enough during stages to PoC, which is key. Stages are more important than bosses IMO, since you get resources during the former. *ReimuB - Range is mediocre but at least it's strong enough to serve its general purpose. *MarisaA - Compared to ReimuB, I don't think range in exchange for standard focus is a good trade. Lasers blend in with bullets. | *MarisaB - The splash damage gimmick is good for the normal shot but underwhelming for the hyper. Has decent single-target damage but not much else. *ReimuC - Only good at certain distances, but auto-collects point items. Needing to stay focused to keep your homing amulet out is awful. *FutoB - Team play is hilarious and so forth but individually your shots aren't strong enough to let you reach the PoC often. Nothing really justifies its low range and middling power. | *FutoA - The bursts are nice, but giving the enemies time to dump bullets on screen before you sunblast them doesn't seem like a winning strategy.
Wait, I thought Abyssal Danmaku Barrier was the Yukari ripoff that was replaced with a different Yukari ripoff in the update? Or was that second Yukari ripoff just a fanmade modification?
Maybe not today, but don't give up. It's okay to set this one aside and come back to it after you've gotten more experience elsewhere. Everyone goes through this; there was a time when I saw videos of PCB Lunatic and thought I could never do that. (That said, in this particular case if you don't use spell practice to get a route for the survival spell, you kind of just lose. That and the eighth spell are probably the worst of it for survival playthroughs.)
@@vierne3349 i have beaten all the extra stages of the oficial games except phantasm . I dont have it unlocked yet. Hecatia was brutal. I beat the extra of the last comer. Mystical power plant. Riverbed. The one that throws dishes and vases. Im missing book mythology and the phantasm of this one. The stage is just too hard. I need to practice a lot. Ill do it eventually . I though that i would never defeat hecatia bit once i did it was a great feeling
The star swings around to surprise you. If you're not expecting it you won't be able to get out of the way quickly enough. It also ends the cycle by moving toward the player but you should end the spell before that happens.
Vierne Oh. Now that I think about it, I probably couldn't guess myself because you mentioned it was done better with CtC Reimu, and I had completely forgotten that you fight Reimu twice in CtC. Thanks though!
The whole fight against Kiyohime is pretty uninspired.. Heck, I like the theme but it's got a style that feels like 'Heian Alien' and 'Night Falls ~ Evening Star' muddled together.

+Alex Kirk I laughed aloud. Well found! I didn't think they were intentionally going for Border of Other Fangames.

+SkyPiercerV In fairness, the Junko line was a cheap shot - this was released in January, and LoLK was released in August.
Kiyos final spell is a montage of attacks from other fangames

Well done! Some close calls there :O
"NO TAKE-BACKS"
I DID IT, I DID IT TODAY,.SHE WAS SO HARD BUT I FINALLY DID IT, TOOK ME A LOT OF TRIES YAAAAAAAY
Nicely done!
Touhou fangame rule no.1: never make it easier than the canon XD
Kiyohime looks like Mima
Correction to an annotation you made: extra and phantasm in overdrive is different, in the sense that all enemies fire suicide bullets when killed.
Thanks for catching that before the end of the month.

+KarisaMirisame The latter. You're thinking of (the TH-camr now known as) Hecatia Lapislazuli's creations.
Kiyohime is a (9)
i beat the extra , but i cant beat this one is too hard

um.
what's the gimmick for Greatest Thaumaturgy?

The whole fight?
The only uninspired thing I see here is the second and final spell. The final spell being a tribute to other fangames anyway.
