Predator 2023

As a first year camper, moving to a multi-acre campground in rural Massachusetts for 7 weeks is daunting. Where do you go if you get hurt? Where do you play soccer? Where do you eat? Where do you go swimming? We don't give new campers a tour on their first day at Romaca, so how do they figure out where everything is?
Introducing: PREDATOR 🖤🦅💚🐍
On the first Sunday of the camp season, we play Predator each year, a big game of tag where campers and staff of all different age groups are split into teams representing animals on the food chain (hawks, snakes, spiders, shrews, and mosquitoes). Their goal is to make it from "feeding station" to "feeding station" (locations on camp) without getting caught by their predators, where they're awarded a bracelet for each station they successfully reach. Through this seemingly silly (but highly competitive!!) game, campers make their way all across camp in a matter of ~3 hours, enabling both first time campers to get a feel for the majority of the grounds at Romaca just 2 days into the camp season, as well as veteran campers to share their Romaca wisdom with the next generation
