I think it’s a shame that few people have watched this documentary. I think this should have a million. It has really expanded my appreciation for insects. I’m still going to kill house flies though...
Incredible fellow creatures. Imagine a world if we were the only living things apart from plants and bacteria? Please respect all animals; they are such an amazing gift to us. I often think, as a thought experiment: What if they were all aliens from all over the universe that came to Earth a long long time ago, because the conditions here were so rare and perfect - what would you think of them and how would you treat them? and how much more would we value our precious blue planet? And so I say a big loving thank you to all these little miracles and all that they do for us and our ecosystem. X
Hi Steve, thanks for your comment and watching - we are huge fans of Coyote and what he does to educate people about insects. He has been a big help to us and also to Justin Schmidt! "Sting of the Wild" is a great book ...
I shared your video to everyone I know that brought tears to my eyes. Coyote and Justin brought me here but I love handling insects that aren't always mean, lol. KEEP UP THE WONDERFUL WORK!!! 👨🏫👨💻👩🏫👩💻
Not here from Brave Wilderness but glad to see Coyote here. I've loved insects since I was a kid and have recently been doing a lot of observing, identifying and reading about insects, arachnids, plants and fungi. Nature just makes me happy.
Will insects and others grow bigger now we are heating up. I live in Ireland and our weather system is changing, less rain and the spin off from that . Is this good or bad for us , I don't know. We have a population growing in number's . So I don't know about the resources for the number's coming.
@@jubi400 I’m a 20 year old guy who also loves bugs honestly living in Torrance CA is awful and sad but living in the countryside I enjoy the company of bugs bug lovers alike and I love to talk to bugs with kids
Exactly what I was thinking! I thoroughly enjoyed this, facts don't have to be boring and being able to present knowledge in a way that anyone can understand and appreciate is infinitely better than the mind numbing stupidity that channels like Jake Paul etc. put out there.
This Film was very well executed and grateful to have found this. It is really eye opening to these creatures many fear and find disgusting. I understand this was last year but I just wanted to state my thoughts. 😂😅
Hi Matt, you might want to take a look at the video around 20 minutes in th-cam.com/video/9rL6_auHRfI/w-d-xo.htmlm2s Coyote's infamous Taratula sting is shown and discussed by Justin at 5:25 th-cam.com/video/9rL6_auHRfI/w-d-xo.htmlm25s and this is my favorite part of our whole doc!
As an entomologist, I'm somewhat dissapointed by the documentary, also because of this Coyote Peterson guy. Especially in the first few minutes, the film empathized a particular approach to insects, by focusing on their association with decay, by associating them to pain and danger. It hurts me as if someone would talk badly about a beloved one! Why can't people just appreciate insects for all of their other fascinating facets? Of course there are arthropods which are painful, of course there are many which feed on decaying matter. I also got bitten and stung. But if you dive deeper into the subject, you soon learn that most are pretty, clean and friendly. We where taught to perceive insects as disgusting and dangerous by horror movies and sensationalist media. 21:38 "It looks like an alien!" I mean what the f*ck, have you ever seen an alien? Are they more familiar to you than insects? What a twisted world. Also, I think this way of portraying insects is quite specific to the US, although it can also be seen in some European documentaries. However, if the movie helped some people to appreciate Insects more, I'm more than happy! I'm not against fascination for the dark and dangerous, I just miss the appreciation for the complexity of insects beyond that. Keep going, look behind the curtain!
A little odd to focus on how painful insect stings can be when the documentary is trying to get people interested. Should've focused more about positive ecosystem services.
First thing you see-almost-in this title, “Insecta...,” is a scorpion! Is this a ‘thing’ now? I seem to be seeing a lot of titles with the word “monkey” in them, but the presentation is about apes, not monkeys. Same with confusing spiders, or diplopods, or mites with insects. Is the taxonomic commonality, ‘Arthropoda’, too pedantic?, not sexy enough? Or what?
Great documentary guys! WE LOVE IT!!
Thanks Brave Wilderness! We were stoked to collaborate with you! More science in your future? Let us know!
Still watching on 2019! :)
Wow cool
Lol, as if Coyote needs a pain scale!
I think it’s a shame that few people have watched this documentary. I think this should have a million. It has really expanded my appreciation for insects. I’m still going to kill house flies though...
We agree! Please share...
Haha...
Welcome to watch more interesting insects on my Channel too. :) Yes, I like this video too.
I wish this was a 5hr+ documentary.. could listen/learn for hours. Such undervalued little creatures. We all share the struggle for life.

Thanks Brave Wilderness.
I would never have found this is not for them.
It's hard to find decent insect films.

It's so sad to see that you have so much less numbers than e.g Jake Paul :/ Hope that your work will be appreciated on a larger scale on some point
We appreciate any shares that you can do - our goal is to just get this doc to as many people as we possible can. Thanks for the encouragement.

so did your mom
Coyote experiments are simply crazy. :) But it's a bit useful to show that stings are not always deadful.
