One thing to consider when using them is they are built for stabilization. So if you Auto Level they are Absolutely great. I think people are breaking them when they Manually start lifting their trailers. You can put a Very Large amount of weight on one at a time Manually 👌👍 Mine have been holding my Alliance Valor 40v13 stable for 6 months with zero issues.
You should really only put them under jacks that need the extra height.. also, if his RV has the Equalizer Leveling system, I don't believe they will work.
I’ve used mine for 1 1/2 years with no issues. They work great, I highly recommend them. I didn’t like the bright orange color so much so I called Anderson and ask them would there be any warranty issue or concern by spray painting them. I was told there would be no problem at all so I spray painted them charcoal gray and they look awesome. Have had many complements from fellow rv’ers. Great product. Thanks
Andersen has great customer service. One of ours cracked and they overnighted a new one free of charge, no questions asked. They didn't even request that we return the cracked one. We also have their Ultimate Hitch and love it.
I have owned one for 3 years and experience cracking this past winter on 3/4 crushed gravel gravel.. My tongue weight on my trailer is approx. 950 lbs and their is a slight grade. I would suggest any gravel will eventually crack these units as you pointed out .
Have you seen the rectangular ones at all? I picked up a set of 4 because I don't have round pads on my 5th wheel, but I think my foot is a bit bigger than the top of the block and am afraid to use them... customer service has ignored my email... I may just return them.
These saved one of my coworkers RV’s during a hurricane here near Houston. 1. Another co workers camper right beside theirs ended up moving about 5 ft and damaging the jacks from the wind, but the one with these stayed on the blocks and didn’t twist any of the jacks
Hey JD: I have a little problem when I hit the auto level buton with the 6 anderson blocks, I have an error on my LCD screen, I think the coach need to go more higher on front legs for being able to engage the auto level. You know the process of auto level, when you hit auto level the front start to go down and stop there a feew seconds and now start to level side by side and finaly the front go up a bit for final finish. My trouble is when the front start to go down for being under level to engage side by side my block are kind of too hight, the system want to go down but the legs have no more play to go down cause the blocks are too hight. Do you bring your coach very hight before you hit the auto level buton ? Could be nice if you could make a video on how you put your blocks and the process of auto leveling. Thanks for your help !
I cut 3/4" Plywood to sized to place under each Anderson Block specifically so there was a solid, even surface beneath each block to prevent gravel from possibly chipping the edges of the blocks or completely compromising the entire block. Not a problem so far and have used them for multiple trips (we're retired).
I do wish the internal structural integrity went all the way to the bottom as it’s providing more strengthening to the sides than the actual top where the weight is coming from. But I absolutely love and trust mine.
People keep mentioning on the RV groups that these fail. I think Ive only ever seen one photo where one was cracked and it was replaced by the company. Weve used them for over 2 years and love them. The magnets are wondeful.
I reached out to the Snap Pads company and the two products should not be used together. They apparently are working on a solution for this. I have used these tubs this past year. I start by evaluating the level status of my fifth wheel using LevelMatePro. I then decide if and where to put these. As you mentioned in the video there are times when a side or front/rear needs or doesn’t need these. Then I use my auto leveling system. I have been in KOAs where one side is off by over 5”! The biggest issue is simply finding a place to store six big red tubs. I like snap pads but I find these more useful.
I bought 2 of these after a close call in Austin where we were unlevel and the front post were torqued after extending the whole length. I put these on front and snap pads on the back. No worries ever since.
This isn't an actual review. It's an unboxing. Creator says "see how they perform" in the first 30 seconds of the video. He merely shows the blocks (after 8 minutes) under the jacks, but doesn't actually extend the landing gear. No evaluation of before or after for sway performance, nothing.
Had these for almost a year and 0 issues. People comparing these to snap pads are comparing apples and oranges. Snap pads do nothing for stability...that’s where the Anderson blocks shine. Two different things entirely.
I just ordered 2 of these last week for our DRV. We can’t use them on the back four jacks, they are to close to the ground. However I’m excited to try them on the front jacks. We had Previously had a Redwood and the front jacks seemed to be longer so these should make up the difference.
I have used the blocks for 2 years now. I stack two to rise my travel trailer tongue. I tried wood, center blocks , stacker blocks the Anderson’s have worked the best
I have 6 Point Auto leveling on my fifth wheel I have been looking at these but not have purchased them yet my only concern is for the two front Jacks for my fifth wheel to auto level it has to have the 5th wheel go down pretty far and then go back up to start to auto-leveling I've had problems with this before with adding too many blocks under my front jacks I would like your thoughts on this
I use Lynx Levelers and Lynx Caps that I place on top and bottom of the stack and so far haven't had any issue but I'm always interested in using something better if in fact these are. I do have some concern about the interior framework not going all the way out and there being a lot of hollow space. I assume it's so they are lighter and stackable but what if you aren't on a concrete or gravel pad? If on grass or sand, isn't there more risk of the edges sinking in because of not having full coverage on the ground?
We have 6 Anderson Buckets and use them on our 42’ Heartland 5er. We winter down in Biloxi Ms and you asked about setting up in sand with them. They are very stable for the most part but I have had to re-level the rig twice since we first setup a month ago. Now, one thing that had a bearing on our rig being level is that we had gone through a hurricane a couple weeks ago which I noticed the buckets have sunk just a bit in the sand. Otherwise, we are very happy with the performance of the Anderson products, the Ultimate Hitch and the Leveling Buckets.
@@santanilson Thank you for your remarks. That's what I expected. I do use the Andersen levelers under my tires when on a solid surface but they have sunk in sand so I thought these might too.
First time I saw one at a campground I thought, "why would someone trust a bucket to hold their trailer?" Then I saw another and another, with the sticker sill on. I bought one for the tongue only and it’s been holding strong even with Chicago winter outdoor storage.
I be got some of those square plastic stackable leveling blocks and they work great until you either put them on a rock or something or you forget and leave them out in the weather for a couple months.
How do they work with the Equalizer self-leveling system? I have a 2021 North Point 377RLBH with 4 octagonal jack pads in the rear and 2 round pads in the front.
@@garvisjoyner9151 , not sure but the people that told us about them had a north point. The magnets don't work for us as the footprint on the pinnacle is bigger.
So I use these. There are things that must be taken into consideration. Mostly how level the ground is when using the blocks. If the ground is not level from front to back you can have issues. Mostly when the front of the spot is higher than the back. As the jacks try to ground themselves you can run out of the room and you will get a leveling failure alarm. In these cases, I only use two or four of them depending on the RV spots. There also have been times that without them I would have a hard time getting level so there are sometimes great advantages in having them. I have no fear of these failing. I have been full time for 16 months and used these from day one.
These things suck. I've broken 2 of them after they sink into the ground after it's been raining and making the ground soft. Went back to using wood blocks
The only problem I see with this is if your jacks are to close to the ground but are far enough way from the ground to give u that sway because looking at that they are about 8 in tall
Can't speak for these but I have their levelers and they work great and are very well constructed...looks like the same material.... But I'm using them on a 10,000lb travel trailer....not a monster 5th wheel
I like the camco leveling blocks. I get 10 for $25 and can add and remove them. Sometimes I just leave them in the bag. these big red things are like $60+ ?
looks like they will only work on perfectly smooth asphalt surfaces. I also am curious how long the plastic will last in the sun. Most of the plastic blocks I have seen get pretty ugly and brittle after they have been in the sun awhile.
These look pretty good for a 5th wheel setup. We are looking at a conventional travel trailer with scissor jack stabilizers and these don't look like the perfect fit. Love Andersen products and plan on getting their weight distribution / sway control hitch when we do get our travel trailer (hopefully early 2021).
Chad from changing lanes said that he broke several of them under his momentum. May be something to reach out to him about. They are a awesome concept thou
Could see you having fun trying to pick one of these up, if you landed on soft ground and it sunk in even a little. Think bucket inverted and put even slightly under water, then trying to pull it out by the sides of the bucket, with suction effect in operation. Common problem no, fun watching someone trying it yes.
I have these for my fifth wheel LCI auto leveling jacks. I can say without a doubt my fifth wheel feels much more stable with these. They are made very well. I’ve read comments where they have busted....for the life of me, I can’t see how that would happen unless you exceed the rating.
curious on the height of the blocks could it cause your auto level to error out...especially on the front landing pads if they need to take the front of the couch down.
I had the same trepanations but the cost was the final nail in the coffin for me. I was concerned that a lot of weight was being distributed on the bottom rim of the 'bucket' and sinking into the dirt or mud up to the reinforcements inside might occur. I do use the half moon levelers and they work very well.
They work good. The kids use the extra one we have as a toy in the sand when we go to the beach. They are a little heavy and kinda awkward to store. If storage space is critical I would stay away.
The pandemic hasn't made wood prices THAT crazy. I have 4 scissor jacks and my stack of 2 x 6 scrap wood will last longer for a fraction of the price. Cool product though.
I will be curious to see the full review JD. Little bit sceptical at this point. Y'all might recommend not traveling with the jacks installed. Seems like common sense to veteran RVers but people don't always have common sense.
I’ve followed you for about 4 months now and I’ve figured up I need about $250,000 dollars to get started camping.I agree with another one of your followers that you have lost touch with the average RVer.All this fancy stuff you review is for RV living for the rich and famous and not the average 6 day a week working man.Come on And review some cheaper stuff.Everybody can’t afford a new truck and RV with high dollar accessories. RB, I've always shown accessories that range from extremely affordable to more expensive since my channel started. By no means am I advocating everyone buy the accessories or even needs them. It is simply to show what's available to fit needs. Shoot, just a week ago I showcased several extremely affordable items RVers could use. In regards to what else you are referring to, I don't know.

Wonder if they would work on a bumper pull jack
Great breakdown as always.
I bought 6 of these for my son, he bought a Alpine FL3801. These Jack blocks don’t fit under his jacks to tall.
You should really only put them under jacks that need the extra height.. also, if his RV has the Equalizer Leveling system, I don't believe they will work.

Good to know. I have one that recently broke. I'll have to contact them.
Rumor has it theres a vidjayo with the military issue blocks holding up a Leo 2 engine
Would you use a square pad under these? Seems these could possibly sink down into soft ground.
I have owned one for 3 years and experience cracking this past winter on 3/4 crushed gravel gravel.. My tongue weight on my trailer is approx. 950 lbs and their is a slight grade. I would suggest any gravel will eventually crack these units as you pointed out .
They will crush, check out the video from changing lanes
This was excellent to know. I was just about to purchase these instead of the snap pads due to the long lead times. Thanks for posting this!

These are great. Worked great foe the bumper pull under the tongue and use on the front landing gear to provide more grip and stability
I wonder how frozen ground would affect them
6”x6” wooden pressure treated post cut to 16” lengths work good too. Costs a lot less.
Out my way the parks say you can't use lumber for slide and fire issues
Also, the wood 6”x6” are a great help with safety, when changing tires, and getting a trailer unstuck.
Changing lanes said they have had a bunch break for them, maybe good more smaller rigs but I would not use for anything with any size
I bought 2 of these after a close call in Austin where we were unlevel and the front post were torqued after extending the whole length. I put these on front and snap pads on the back. No worries ever since.
sink in grass / soft ground inside gets packed with dirt

It would be interesting to see what pressure a hydraulic press would exert to crush one. Another thought is what does UV light do to these?

I raised my back 4 jacks up so I could fit the blocks under them. No issues with raising the jacks. 6 bolts on each leg.
Jason Kellenbenz Thanks, that is definitely something to consider.
I have used the blocks for 2 years now. I stack two to rise my travel trailer tongue. I tried wood, center blocks , stacker blocks the Anderson’s have worked the best

I’m a snap pad guy. In 5 yrs RVing have seen a need to shorten my legs. Besides you have to store them as well and they seem pretty bulky.
Ric
What are snap pads ?
I am not familiar
Thanks
How's the clean step? Been interested in those!
I have a keystone raptor 413(heavy) and 1 year in,no issues on any type of surface.

How do they work when you are in soft dirt, and it rains ??
You should check out clear led clearance lights for your truck. Really a much better look and they are brighter than the stock lights.
I was skeptical of them. My friend gave me his 6 Andersen buckets when he switched to snap pads. They’ve held up well so far with my Solitude.

Looking forward to your honest review of these.
I think these would be better, for use in gravel, if they had a snap pad built into the bottom of them.

$55 a pop!!! So for my 5th wheel I'd shell out over $300?? I can buy a lot of wood for that kind of money!
curious on the height of the blocks could it cause your auto level to error out...especially on the front landing pads if they need to take the front of the couch down.

We used a plastic block for the nose of our rv. It collapsed one day. Wasn’t fun.
Out of curiosity, were they Anderson Blocks, or another brand?
Which blocks? These are significantly different than the typical square blocks.
Awfully expensive for an internally reinforced upside down 5 gallon bucket 🤣🤣
They are the best thing
Too bad they don’t stack for storage purposes
They do stack with each other - upside down
Only show and not action. Didn't finish.
What a waste of money. I have used Wood blocks for years
Awful lot of talk and very little actual info
