Lmao, you buy mats? I have millions of gil thanks to my crafters. At end game your basically a mount hunter and matz come easy since everyone wants the mount. I use map runs for a chance of big pay out. If ya only leveling one crafter or gatherer your doing it wrong. Like armour/smith level with mining. Weaver with botanist for easy mats.

As a veteran of FFXIV and someone who has been gaming for almost 30 years, one thing I've learned to do is to stop thinking of the "rules of the game" and be the gamer who "makes their own rules" to the game.
A video game, a board game, sports, and any form of entertainment is just that. Entertainment. So, find new ways to entertain yourself when the same things get old!
Take a break if needed. I’m personally going back in hard with 6.3 as more content appeals to me from that patch

Did you have fun playing through the 6 hours worth of new content in the later patches? Breaks aren't enough for this game. There's genuinely just nothing to do.

Great video - think this will be helpful for a lot of new players who will be unfamiliar with FFXIV’s “optional endgame.”
I’d like to add two more to the list: Level your GC rank/Squadrons and level your Chocobo!
As a new player, i think FFXIV is hands down the best mmo right now...i only wished there werent so many darn quests and some progression is even gated behind completing certain raids (queue takes forever to pop). I love how we can earn many cool in-game mounts, especially during this starlight celebration (bought the falcon, the eagle, the kamuy and the direwolf within 1 week). As for the crafting system, I wish we dint have to summon our retainers and withdraw materials everytime we wanna make stuff..there should like a centralized material inventory like SWTOR or ESO's craftbag for e.g.
yea ff14 is great, and crafting/gathering can easily fill up ur inventory slots and be quite annoying to deal with all the time, would be good to have a separate material bag
When you change character, you start at level one. The inventory stays the same. Some items you can't delete. The chocobo bag can only hold so much. If you don't have a free company, where you can store your unique useless items then you it just takes up space on your inventory.

your are new this is why, reach end game, and if your goal is to play your combat class, you will qsuickly realise the lack of content...
Now the game is good, and there is lot of content if you want to do other things than actualy playing your main combat class.
11 months later, do you still hold that opinion? Now that you *assumingly* are done with the MSQ, what do you spend your time doing in FF? Because i remember thinking the game was great too, but XIV just fell flat on it's face in the endgame..
The thing that keeps me from getting too bored is setting goals for things that on the surface are obvious (gear, glamour, titles etc) but consigning myself to get it done in the time I set aside to game unless I can "shelve it" and make real tangible steps in another goal. I think part of the reason why so many people in a social game like an MMO rarely engage socially is because a vast majority playing are going to lean heavily on the introverted side of things, and speaking as someone whose on the farthest edge of the scale it can be draining to do the vast majority of the content quickly. Most of the tangible rewards come from working with real people (Eureka/Bozja, dungeons grinds are faster with real players, savage raiding to a large extent etc.). I think FF14 is heading in the right direction by still making this game gradually soloable in most of it's content for the sake of preserving the game well past it's potential lifetime or for those who want/need time alone to recharge themselves. But part of the joy in playing is having the control to be vulnerable when you want to be, in almost every sense of the word you want to describe "vulnerable" so long as everyone involved can consent to it. It's in our DNA just as much as how dogs and other creatures will know how to play with one another without ever being taught how, though our way of player interaction is in no small part also shaped by social convention and the design of the world by those who run it. Sometimes this leads to surprises, intrigue, revelations, friends... so many things we don't expect to find. But it can also lead to many worse things and if we don't gleam enough about the experience that is positive a feeling of loss. To live is to suffer, and if this platitude seems like it came from my rear end I would just implore you to continue playing the game - I've somehow spent over a thousand hours and it's a slow burn process to really understand anything. I still don't understand many things. I still dislike several things in this game but I can understand why people do like them. But that's ultimately the cost of an MMO, your given the widest net and biggest potential to express yourself and connect... but every decision to do so rests on our own willingness to take the brunt of it and keep walking however our interactions turn out - we are condemned to be free as a paraphrase from Sartre. Sorry, if this was super contemplative and I appreciate anyone who reads this all.

completing the ARR sightseeing log is also an activity u can do, u get a minion at the end of it. it takes certain weather and times in game to complete so it was another thing i kept track of while doing relic grind. There's also Eureka but it's not as popular as Bozja

one thing i always recommend to new players, is to soak in the MSQ (Story) and when u dont want to do more MSQ, do side quests from the popup on the Maps. You find random stuff that doesnt affect too much in the MSQ but does provide u new options to do when taking a break from MSQ
I saw the Fisher shark mount the first time I got to Mor Dhona and ended up with a level 90 fisher before even doing Prae...
It does look cool though

One extra thing about Triple Triad: It's not limited to the Saucer once you unlock it. There are NPCs all around the maps with the Triple Triad icons waiting to be played. I usually do them while waiting DPS queue on roulettes.
TH-cam decided I should watch this so I did. I'm on Lou too, so hello neighbour, I've got very little content left to do these days, just recovering after the diadem mount grind. I didn't think you'd have anything here I haven't completed, as even all the relics I grinded most of but then you showed.....the clubs, often notice these in PF and shouts, but I never got into the RP scene and it looked kinda of fun, the gambling side was interesting also.

Personally if i am bored of FFXIV i just play something else. I realized i dont have to maximize my playtime per sub.
Nowadays i only do weaklies and like once or twice a week i do old raids minimum item level whit friends while waiting for the next major content patch.
yea definitely just take ur time play if u are having fun, no need to minmax ur time on ff14

My solution is grab friends and do stuff for content luls. If I’m not motivated to play easy I boot up another game. There’s a bunch of things I can still do but gotta remember don’t burn yourself out

It's the never ending relic weapon grinds for me.
yea.. they really take a long ass time to obtain and if u do it for multiple classes then u'll be in for hundreds of hours
